RIP Leslie Nielsen

84 years old

My absolute favourite silly comedy actor, which is sort of a shame, since he did a lot of serious movies which are completely forgotten after Airplane! and the Naked Gun movies.

"...and don't call me Shirley."

You'd think he'd have known not to have the fish.

What a great loss. He was incredibly funny.

I just want you to know that we are all counting on you.

Man, that absolutely blows. He was such a legend and one of my favourite actors.

Like a blind man at an orgy, I was gonna have to feel my way in.

Wow, the dude had a gift for humor and never really got the props he deserved. Will have to get the Naked Gun movies out soon and revisit them.

And speaking of props, without a doubt one of my favorite movie scenes where I first learned about "protection". Potentially NSFW!

Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to stay on my toes.

NO NO NO NO! I refuse to accept this!

Just watched Airplane! the other day, and wondered how he was doing.

I heard they were going to take him to a hospital. A hospital? What is it?

It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.

Well sh*t.
Rest in peace.

Tannhauser'd, but still funny.

Wow. That sucks.

/sad Sally - he was hilarious.

Always liked that guy. Hope his death was peaceful.

From what I read, he died in his sleep. Can't get much more peaceful than that.

Guess this means Naked Gun 4 will be shelved... =/

Dang. I didn't realize he was that old.

Happy trails, Mr. Nielsen. You brought countless smiles to the world.

Airplane and the first Naked Gun are two of my favorite films, because I love stupid humor. I'll have to drag them out again and watch them to appreciate Nielsen's simply glorious sense of comic timing.

I'm gonna go out there and win one for the Zipper.

Sad news.

The King of Rubber Chicken humor...

Sad, he was in one of the first movies I remember as a kid, Forbidden Planet. That movie was so cool, might see if I can find a copy, and see if it still holds it's own.

Sad to see him go.

I'm sad, but this guy had a great run. He seemed to get out what he needed to as a creative person, with years to spare.

So I applaud you Leslie Nielson --good job.

I'm less sad because I thought he's been dead for 5 years.

I just want to tell you both, good luck. We're all counting on you.

Awe, RIP Leslie.

I usually don't pay much attention to celebrity passings, but damn...

"I just want you to know, we're all counting on you." He will be missed.

That's no way for a man to die. A parachute not opening... that's a way to die. Getting caught in the gears of a combine... having your nuts bit off by a Laplander, that's the way I wanna go!

RIP, Leslie Nielsen.

Well that took a turd on my Sunday.

Mayor: Now Drebin, I don't want any trouble like you had on the South Side last year, that's my policy.

Frank: Well, when I see five weirdos, dressed in togas, stabbing a man in the middle of the park in full view of a hundred people, I shoot the bastards, that's my policy!

Mayor: That was a Shakespeare-In-The-Park production of Julius Caesar you moron! You killed five actors! Good ones!

...alternatively...

I don't care what the news reports, I suspect O.J. Simpson had something to do with this.

R.I.P. Leslie...you gave me a lot of laughs.

He was an icon to my family. We watched the Naked Guns, or anything that he did, on family nights for a good laugh. Sometime this week I'll watch a few of his movies in his honour.

Just heard about this from my wife. Very sad! I loved him in comedies and own a few of them even!
