die2nite: Work together or the zombies will eat us!

I'm in the "Wicked Caves of Dead Rabbits". Anyone else in that town as well?

Actually, you need to be inside before 5:00 PM EST. Then, at 5, the website is inaccessible for about 15 minutes to a half hour while they handle the night attacks, then when it's accessible again, you can open the gate and go outside, if you wish.

I am really, really happy you clarified that.

Speaking of this gum stuff, I see that you can use it once a day, and I (assume) that it gives you back all six of your action points every day. Does that not take up the "food" that you can use once a day to refill action points?

If you can use the gum indefinitely, and it counts as eating food, then it doesn't seem like there would be any reason to build a kitchen and make food, which is why I was curious.

Sorry I was unclear. The doggy bag I started out with contained the gum as my first meal. I literally ate (swallowed and all) old, scavenged, pre-chewed gum for lunch(and got my 6AP back). Yum!

Don't forget that you dropped it on the ground first.

So the "1x usable once per day" under the gum is in reference to it being a food item, and only one food item is usable per day, not the gum's inherent reusability, thanks. I'll have to find the feedback place and post that that is confusing.

Also keep in mind that the gate has to be open in order for you to get back inside, so I'd be careful about waiting until the last minute to get inside. If you wait too long, you might be locked out and zombie chow sooner then you'd like.

Once again, how does one know if one has these beta keys to give away?

It's under the Your Soul section of the site.

I haven't been PMed yet, so I don't think demand for keys is keeping up with supply.

Looks like as you use your beta keys, you get more. I logged in this morning with 2 new betakeys replacing the two that were used.

Got bit last night. Seems like you can't auto-scavenge while wounded. Oh, and you may have a betaproprin tablet now in your rucksack. Apparently that sucker gives you 30 AP!

Yeah, I already used mine. And it seems like it doesn't count as a drug either. I still have my "You've never taken any drugs" status icon.

I placed my betaproprin in the bank, thinking it was a future crafting supply. One of our new residents took it, along with a bunch of other things, and appears to be getting eaten by a horde of zombies. So, yeah, go team.

This looks really, really cool. I look forward to getting myself involved it looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Oh hey look, I have three keys too! PM if you'd like them.

Do the zombies move around during the day? I've been trying to keep track and they don't seem to, but that seems to make it suspiciously easy to avoid them. Is the main problem that if no one from the town has entered the square (and you don't have a watchtower) you won't know that there are zombies until you enter it?

Even if you do walk into a square with a bunch of zombies, don't you only get hurt if you try to flee without backup? If you stay put, and shout for help you'll be fine right? (Assuming you are rescued before midnight).

Hey you can make coalitions. Unfortunately it seems like you can only make a group of size 5, no larger, and you have to be a hero to make one. I guess the first one of us that goes hero will start us up?

I hope they bump that up shortly. A town 'o' Goodjers would be great.

I bet it'd make the game easy. So far the hardest part of the game is working around all of the people who refuse to follow any sort of plan and just randomly click buttons to build things in the completely wrong order. If everyone was coordinated and worked together I wonder how smoothly it would run.

Ah, thanks. I guess I only just got them today. I have two keys left, so whoever wants them let me know.

I found a Man Bag! Let's me carry lots of goodies, I also built a hacksaw, so if anyone gets an infection I can whip that limb off Day 2 attack for us in one hour and our town has a max zombie attack of 50 tonight, but we have defence 68.

Kraint and my town seems to be doing really well, probably mostly due to those 30 AP pills we all got. We have (Day 1) 48 defense and a max zombie attack of 33, so it looks like we're in a good position for the next couple days.

Tomorrow Kraint and I are going to take a water pistol and head out to an abandoned villa, hopefully get even more goodies.

...And it looks like we've locked 6 MENSA-members out this evening. I look forward to someone looting their bodies tomorrow.

Hah, my great town broke down when the going got tough. We went from a 30 zombie attack to a 150 zombie attack, and we didn't have the resources to build enough defenses. We had a small number of people stealing stuff from the bank to make their own homes stronger, which is a net loss for the total defenses of the town. We had to banish a number of people in the last hour just to recover that stuff, and in the end it still wasn't enough.

Heya Neighbor!

'oh dear, 11 survivors from the attack. I burned every AP I could replenish simply disposing of the bodies. I think this is the last day for my town.

At least I was able to get over being terrified with a healthy dose of Valium.

My town is on day 4 we've lost 12 people total but because they've been AFK since day one and didn't eat/drink, or they wandered into the desert never to come back, our walls have yet to be breached. The town is "Crossroad of nights of horror" and we've got our watch tower, workshop, reinforced walls, screaming saw blades (mmm minced zombies) water pump, and half way to our water drilling system for more water resources. So far having fun but for me the bummer is the limited AP stopping me from playing for more than 10 minutes unless i pace myself. It was way to dangerous to explore outside solo now we typically organize a group of 3 or more to go exploring a few KM away and check something out, an old house, a cave, what have you. But unless we're careful we can get screwed easily, so yeah i dump my AP into building projects and supplies and i'm done.

Anyway i've got a bunch more keys today so PM me if you want one.

I'm in the game, currently living in Devastated Bay.

However, when I leave town the map doesn't load. I can't explore outside at all. That's a problem.

And I'm infected. Awesome.

Fun fact I learned a moment ago: if you leave a zone after searching it, you can't go back to auto-searching it.

I've also been having the map refuse to load while playing in Chrome. Running it in Firefox seems to clear that up. Annoying though.

Works in Firefox! Guess the game doesn't play with Chrome so well.

I'll take a key, por favor.
