Posting from the iPad so I will be brief - it is worth watching, but not spectacular. Still looks promising.

Looks pretty bad!

I'm most intrigued by the Last Starfighter-ish aspects of his recruitment and off-world orientation. That could be a lot of fun. Otherwise it seems they're going for an Iron Man tone. A bit breezy, a bit serious. Eh, maybe that's better than all stone faced and grim. But I suspect that Reynolds and Lively can't match the naturalistic spark of Downey and Paltrow.

CG suit sucks.

I like that the ring can make anything he can imagine, so he imagines saving the world in bodypaint.

I don't know about that suit.

Meh. I'm a sucker for anything that brings some fun to the theater. I'll see it with a smile on my face.

Suit was shown off back at comic-con, and i guess i'm ok with it.

Just wish this wasnt 3D. Really getting tired of all that.

Looks pretty weak. Like Fantastic Four weak...
I'll still watch it when it becomes available on DVD.

It didn't look utterly terrible. I would certainly watch it at home.

I'll probably end up seeing it, because it was filmed here. At one point I was biking through downtown and I saw this destroyed farmer's market, and I thought to myself, "Since when is there a farmer's market on Wednesday?" Turns out it was a film set.

Also, the airport you see very briefly in the trailer is the old Shushan Airport. It was built by a buddy of Huey Long's who was a mobster, and had all these amazing art deco statues and decorations that were unceremoniously (and literally) sawed off when they turned the building into a bunker during the missile crisis. They restored the outside recently, and it looks damn good.

Just a bit of trivia!

The alien Green Lanterns actually looked good, but everything else was kind of crap. Yeah, I see this being Fantastic Four level. Some properties just don't work on the big screen and I think Green Lantern is definitely one of those.

I'll be there opening night, reciting the oath EVERY SINGLE TIME it's said in the movie. I imagine I'll be sitting alone.

To me, the mask is the worst part of the suit. I think fixing that would go a long way.

I'll be there, with a "NERD ALERT!" every time you finish.

I think it looks good, I can't wait to see it.

Funny I seen a fan mad trailer with Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern which looked better than this one.

I thought it looked pretty good. I do have to agree that the suit seems a bit off. This will most likely be one I get to watch at home.

Looks bad. It really appears that there are Chris Nolan and Bryan Singer, then everyone else.

Here is my thing. Ironman overcame how lame and poorly recognized the character is with star power and direction(2 was another matter). I want Ryan Reynolds in independent comedies. Ms Knightly can come to my bunk.

I will probably catch a matinee of this, but damn it looks hokey.

Nathan Fillion would be so much beter than the dude that is in every romantic comedy. The trailer is alright, but not too bad.

Did the suit look a little strange to anyone else?

I'll watch it on Netflix....though I've never been into comics or super heroes so I'm probably not the target audience.

Looks somewhat promising, despite Reynolds. Mixture of Hal Jordan (name/pilot/Abin Surr) and Kyle Rayner (fear, suit)

If they can clean up the suit some more, especially the mask, then I think it will be fun. I don't see it being another Iron Man, and for sure not a Batman, but fun nonetheless. I think the problem is that it is really ahrd to do larger than life super heroes as live action. Iron man gets by because all the enemies and Iron man himself have been normal guys with cool toys. Batman is that same. No crazy shape shifting, cosmic powers. Overall, i'm thinking Netflix rental.

The striated effect looks odd. Then I saw the crotch and thought, "Wow, something about that looks really weird."

I think Ryan Reynolds is awesome. Everything I've ever seen him in I think he handled really well.

But! This trailer just doesn't completely do it for me. It's got some good bits and not-so-good bits.

I think this is going to be a really fun movie and like most of the "super hero" movies I will probably try to see it in the theatre. IMO action movies game a lot from being seen on the big screen in surround sound.

Because it's still in my head:

I didn't even really mind the striated effect. I was fine with the suit until the moment he was laughing with his friend after showing off his costume-- it looked like bodypaint (except his package), since you could see his muscles flex as he laughed. Even if it was a skin-tight suit, it wouldn't follow every contour of his anatomy to that point of flexure unless it was some sort of skin, which just felt off-putting.

I also like Ryan Reynolds, even as Deadpool (before they sewed his mouth shut and all), but this combination of bodypaint and a comic universe which I could never garner interest in (save for the Bat) makes me want to pass on this until maybe it hits Instant Watch.

This was better than the clips I saw earlier, but the clip at the end of the trailer made me throw up in my mouth the same way the Green Hornet one did.

It feels like it's trying to recapture that moment in Spiderman when Tobey Maguire is trying to get the web to come out:

Wow maybe I'm just not that picky. It looked fun. I kinda think Ryan Reynolds is funny though, so there's that. But I mean if he is fairly funny and the plot actually works, I think it's fine. I honestly don't care about the suit, it looks fine to me. I guess I didn't really expect it to look "badass" or whatever because Green Lantern has always been in tights and never looked cool, to be honest.

Except for his armor in Kingdom Come, which of course made a lot of drastic changes to characters.

Meh. Iron Man can be goofy and cocky, because that's Tony Stark to an extent. It works within the character. Hal Jordan? Not so much. I expect suckitude.

Sorry, 3D art is my job So when I see something that's off-putting artistically, I tend to hone in on that and am unable to enjoy the rest. I'm sure the story will be okay (despite the big-headed blue people), but like I said-- awkward (IMO) art choices + DC universe ≠ my personal enjoyment.

I will watch this film after the third batman movie but before Skyline.
