Call of Duty: Black Ops - Catch All

15 levels of prestige, are you serious?! I couldn't even stand 10. I wonder if the xp point are less or perhaps easier to accumulate. I really hope the map support for this game is solid.

I did it once in CoD4 and never again. I felt no reward whatsoever in earning the exact same things over again. It was incredibly annoying.

Then with MW2 I didn't even hit the max level the first time before I got rid of it.

Apparently the max level has been lowered to 50 to compensate somewhat but I don't know if it'll end up being shorter or longer than MW2 - the funny thing is I'm not even 10th prestiege yet...

I am going to get it for the PS3, hopefully will be playing it day 1 but we will see.

360 here for sure.

Don't forget to list your choice of platform on the spreadsheet linked in the OP.

PC here.

I will be on 360, and I might pick it up for the PC as well pending how good it is.

If I jump in, it'll be 360. I'm still undecided, though.

I'm on for PC.

PC!

I jumped in. 30 dollars in Amazon bucks helped a lot.

Now that the final perk list is out there and the weapon changes are confirmed, I've basically caved. I'll end up with the game one way or another.

Probably 360 first.

Roughly an hour of gameplay:

Any beta or demo before release next week?

Damn everyone going 360... i may have to double dip. I just know you buggers will be done a month later.... well with Cataclysm i probably will be too so 360 it is for start.

I'm conflicted about what to get this one. I'm leaning toward pc because I'm starting to hate playing shooters with a controller. But, everybody here seems to be going 360 and I would really like to finally try the Call of Duty multiplayer.

Well if i like it i'll be picking this one up on pc pretty early this time around. Like i mentioned before i've always done the CoD games on 360 before.

In for one on PC. Trying to fire up MW2 with 5 friends last night was a huge chore (could not connect to host etc. getting into a party) and there are quite a few cheaters out there. Bring on the servers.

If I get it, it might be on the PC. Still need to hear a lot feedback. I'm thinking about retiring DoD:S, and I like CoD's pacing. Here's to hoping it's actually good!

Day of Defeat Source. You sir, are hardcore. I used to play that...3 years ago.

Pre-ordered with Amazon credit and release date delivery. Man, I am so ready for this to come out.

Still has legs on it. I just love the purity of it. No new maps, no mods, no BS sound clips. It comes from an age where "DLC" didn't exist yet. Just really nice gun play. I feel closer to my inner self every time I nail that problematic MG in the butt.

It also has dedicated servers (twig, meet snap).

@Mannishboy

Thanks for embedding that video.

Some interesting and worthwhile changes in my view, particularly the use of currency (CP). One thing that made me put MW2 to one side was going prestige and then being unable to face an epic grind for my preferred weapons, attachment and perks.

Also, the changes to pro perks looks good too. I like the idea that players have to diversify their gametype in order to unlock everything. This seems to be a really strong theme for this game. If you want to get the most out of you have to experiment a lot more.

Under-barrel flamethrowers, on the other hand, strikes me as just a little too arcadey.

Otherwise... I'm basically drooling. 9th November CANNOT come soon enough.

I'm really looking forward to getting into slack chops multiplayer but that video does look pretty much like new maps for MW2. I was disappointed with some of the DLC maps for MW2 when they finally came out and I hope I don't feel the same about this.

The suburban map looks really small with bad guys in your face when you spawn. This video is giving me the fear.

Detroit, when you prestiege and you can't get your favourite gun and perk it makes you diversify your game play doesn't it?

360 ftw.

They said repeatedly that that map was the smallest map in the game, and was more of a "fun" map than one of the major maps.

The good thing on a map that size is that it will be very hard to camp and work up to the big kill streaks. Everybody dies

i bought my wife an early christmas present for me picked up a set of cheap x11 headphones for the xbox/pc. Cool thing it sends your voice into the speakers so hopefully no more late night yelling waking her up

Kmart is going to have a deal next week with Black Ops where you get $25 worth of points for Kmart in general, $25 off a long list of other games, and $20 off Turtle Beach headsets. You might want to look into that and take your current set back

O.o nice!

Man, I'm pumped for this one now. I'm ready to get on the leveling treadmill.

I've looked at the info that's been released, and I feel pretty good that they've fixed the design things that need to be fixed. If they have also fixed the lag on the 360 (over MW2), then we might really have something special.
