The Dark Knight Rises Catch-All

Yep, that's the title of Christopher Nolan's third Batman movie, according to this interview, which also states that the Riddler will not be the villain. Discuss!

Will there be another IMAX closeup of Morgan Freeman's face? Must know!

So no Riddler or Freeze... Hmm.

I would love to see the Bane story unfold on screen. I'm also happy Riddler and Freeze are out.

*also like that they're going IMAX again and ignoring 3D.

Damn, I wanted a Riddler who wouldn't be silly, or at least wouldn't be Jim Carrey.

I want the villain to be Superman! (Hey aboy can hope can't he?)

I hope it's something with Ra's/Talia al Ghul, that would be a great way to wrap up a trilogy I think.

Well, it's gotta be better than The Dark Knight...

Aww, I was looking forward to a well done Riddler or Freeze. Especially Freeze since he was done so well in the animated series.

I hope it's not the Mad Hatter or Poison Ivy.

i picture Scar Jo doing Poison Ivy...all tight and sinewy. liek the P.I. in Arkham Asylum game...
ok, sorry,

I would think Freeze or Ivy are a little too far into the fantasy side of things for Nolan.

The riddler I think would run the risk of re-treading the second film a little too much - the thing with the two boats felt like the kind of thing the Riddler would come up with more than Joker (to my limited Batman knowledge at least).

Did they fire Christian Bale? If not yet, would they kindly?

I hope the new villain is Calendar Man!

Spoiler:

not really

Killer Croc would be my vote:) or maybe even Catwoman or Penguin...

I think you expect to much. He gets the job done well enough. Plays a great Bruce Wayne playboy, to bad the character is much more then that.... Batman Voice? hysterical.

My defending argument. Val Kilmer, George Clooney.

They should give him a voice changer built into his cowl and just have Kevin Conroy do the voice.

Nah, the boat thing wasn't a riddle as much as a moral dilemma, and the Joker was lying about the bombs going off at midnight.

As far as the question of which person to save, again the Joker was lying about which one was where, even if he wasn't lying about the timed detonation. Also the Riddler sets things up so that if you solve the Riddle correctly no one dies. That is what happened with the boat, but I think that the puzzle being a lie overrides that.

I support this statement.

I like the way you think.

I say bring in Catman as a hero. They toyed with the idea that there were many copyCat Batmans. Why not bring in someone (the current version) that is just as good as Batman but not wanting to be Batman? Will they be friend or foe? Will copyCatman be the White Knight that Gotham needs? Will Bruce Wayne want to retire or will he need to rise above?

I was hoping that in one of the old threads, then I was reminded of the Lazarus Pits. Poison Ivy or The Sparrow I thought could be interesting, but it would be interesting to see if they could cook something up entirely unique (like Harley Quinn in the animated series). Although Dr. Crane/Scarecrow was present but a bit neutered in the first movie, and still running around free (sort of) in The Dark Knight, he's also another one who could work with the right script. My favorite character is still Mr. Freeze from the animated series. Another with possibilities is Temple Fugate, although his animated episode was not the best.

All I have to say, is NO Robin. NO f*cking Robin. I'm sure he's always possible but NO f*cking Robin.

Put nipples on the suit.

The Dark Knight's third act disappointed me and it makes me afraid that they will again muddy the waters with too many villains. A love story with Catwoman, would be great. She would make a great character to challenge Batman's unshakable moral convictions, much like the Joker did, except that Catwoman will be more successful in "corrupting" him. He will have to come back and find the moral high ground again.

Also, I really think Batman needs some flaws. He feels too much like a Paladin, and I know that is the nature of his character, but it would be nice to see Batman fall victim to the inflexibility of his moral code, then fall into a blind rage, and somehow come out in the third act repaired and stronger. Catwoman is the one character that could really make that pay off in an emotional way, not just a cool action piece kind of way.

EDIT: If I had to guess, I would say that Two-Face will be the main villian and I bet Catwoman plays a part as well. They will probably use her in the usual way...naughty sex kitten (Batman's kryptonite), though.

Or it gets the hose again?

Probably be Catwoman, that would get a rise out of batman.

I vote for Poison Ivy. Not a great villain, but requires a curvaceous, red-headed actress...like maybe this person:

Just sayin'.
