Penguin's Ohio S&T 10-23-10 (Reach, Mario Kart, Rock Band 2, Board Games, and Beer)

What's the word on:

Fridge/Freezer(?) space
Microwave
Seating, or will our asses be comfortable
TV # (+2 that're listed in the plans)

NSMike, and others(?), what PS3 games will you be hauling? Being a new owner my library is limited, but I could see a use for Demon's Souls and Castlevania there--though not mp. If I get an affirmative, I take them. I leave in 2 hours.

Oh, and we're good on Wii's, right?

For the PS3, I was only going to bring Buzz Quiz TV, which is a fairly simple but fun trivia game. I don't have any other games that have any real multiplayer, except Warhawk, which is installed on the system. And we'd need another PS3 for that.

Space will be limited but we'll have some coolers. It should be fine.
I imagine there will be a microwave.
plenty of seating
no idea how many TVs are showing up. I'm hoping people are just going to surprise me and bring them? I guess we'll see =)

Reminder: we're going to be setting up starting at 10. If you have a TV you're bringing or a system, please come earlier than 3 so we can find a home for it.

Here is a hastily written statement (written by my friend) to know your way around once your GPS or google maps gets you there:

to get to the office, go down ambina drive and take the first drive on the right. That is the back of our building. Go in the shipping doors on the left.

Matt J: wordsmith.

Oh, and I forgot to ask about PA system. Please tell me we can rock Polka at 3AM.

I have no intention of allowing that but I can certainly promise the means of doing so.

I'm going to bring Cooking Mama for the Wii. I'll also bring Soul Calibur IV for PS3. Both are added to the spreadsheet.

Cooking Mama Tournament is worth 25 points.

I wish I could bring my 46" HDTV. But aside from not having enough trunk space, unless it's packed in 2 feet of styrofoam on either side of the screen, there's no way I'm taking on the road.

I would type in three three zero etc etc etc just to be safe. Quote tags don't update when changes are made to an original post.

Also, did I need to bring tables and chairs? I have 1 large & 1 card folding table and 4 - 5 folding chairs sitting in the garage.

If only they weren't in Maine. WarioWare: Party Games and New Super Mario Bros. Wii are out of my reach.

Other notables: 2 VF High Grade fighting sticks, full rock band setup w/ION Kit, Point Blank 3 + Guncon, and so much more.

No tables or chairs, L&L. We have a ton at the location and I have 2 folding tables that are 5 minutes away at my place.

@Baladec: hells yeah fighting sticks.

Really looking forward to tomorrow, folks. See you in a few hours =)

Don't hesitate to call if you have a problem, I (or a minion) will be around. And please don't tell my local friends I refer to them as "minions."

Sorry I didn't mean to give unmet expectation. I can't bring them because they are in Maine with the rest of my things until I find a nice apartment.

Oily, post in the Halo thread when/if you guys get online in Reach. I'd like to hop in if there's room.

I'm going to bring a bunch of "pile of shame" or old games to give away to people. No strings attached, no auction, no nothin. Mostly PS2.

We're on the road now and should be there around 3:30.

Woohoo!

Happy birthday, OilyP!

Thanks, Jake =)

Last minute change of plans by the Mrs. Unless I can bring an 8 year old with me, I'm not likely to make it. I might be able to swing by later this evening, but that's still up in the air.

If I don't show, down a few for me!

Oily we are waiting for you in vent for the sc2 match.

Not gonna lie, using a projector for RB is a great idea.

@LockAndLoad

It was a ton of fun man - and I ended up with the guitar controller you left. I promise I'll put it to good use

Blargh?

Hey everyone, I had an absolutely epic time. Seriously fantastic meeting so many people, putting real faces to avatars, and trying so much new stuff. I think Weinhandler (is that the spelling) will have to be added to my collection. Wish I didn't have to leave early but parenthood was calling and calling (and leaving me angry voicemails).

And if you're in a Star Trek trivia contest, don't forget that Spock wore an orange armband at the end of Star Trek 1.

Good times! And thanks OilyPenguin & friends for organizing this.

whoops - double post

Great times everyone! Sooooo much fun!
I'm a little mad at myself for not getting someone to play Carcassonne with me like I wanted. I'm lazy and was having fun watching everyone play all the different games.
Oily, Thank you. You are a great host/organizer/Goodjer. Your friends with the cool boss and office building have my thanks.

That was a lot of fun, met a lot of cool people. Everyone was awesome, didn't meet a single jerk. Thanks to Brian, Matt and everyone who helped make it happen. I can't believe I had to leave early to go to a family gathering, where all they did was smoke in the garage and talk about fantasy football all night (super boring), when I could have been gaming it up and talking music. I'm now an S&T convert and ready for the next one. I'm ready for some pics to get posted, so I can see all the fun I missed. Since there was so many people there; I was the guy with the beard and shaved-head, drinking the cheap High Life and hanging out in the Rockband room too much.

I decided I'm not your doppelganger you are mine; you are the one with the goatee. Wish you could have stayed or come back, families are dumb.

Made a slight correction there. Between you & SuperDave, my idea of "expert" in Rock Band was shattered.

Good times, everybody! The projector + giant speakers setup for Rock Band was fantastic.
