UK S&T - 23rd October thing

Should I bring Last Night On Earth or shall we fail to play Junta again?

I would like to play Junta at some point in my life, but a game with as many small pieces as that is not ideal for the venue, I guess. I think we should be bringing games that have few, large, clear components. LNoE does look very cool though. I'd like to play it, I think.

What should I bring with me?:

Dominion
Pandemic
Puerto Rico

Of these, only Dominion really passes my criteria above, though I don't know how well-lit Namco Station is, how big the tables are etc.

As far as I remember the tables are small and round, lighting is ok though.

I'm actually going to have to bow out of this. I have a prior engagement to sit on the floor and watch the entirety of Twin Peaks in one sitting at the Battersea Arts Centre.

Ouch. See you next time then.

OK, I've PMed everyone with my details. Can people confirm whether they're still coming? Remember, every time you miss a S&T, Demiurge kills a kitten.

Maq, you've got my number, I think, so if you manage to evade the Twin Peaks, you can check whether we're still there.

Totally confirming totally coming to this, right here!

The backwards-talking dwarf is actually telling you to come to the S&T.

I hereby confirm my attendance tomorrow. Apologies for my relative silence, not had much luck getting online too much recently. Looking forward to meeting you all.

We came, we saw, we S&T'd (we being myself, DudleySmith, Floomi and ptft). Was great to meet some actual real-life goodjers, finally!
Important issues of the day were nailed down, issues such as:

- lack of innovation in the RTS genre
- ranting about indie games
- Tuba mouthpiece as weapon
- the ebb and flow of acceptable swearing
- the "toughest job in the world"
- tactical homosexuality
- inevitable real vs plastic instruments discussion
- why you would need a machine that pokes cheese

...in addition to far too much currency being fed into outdated arcade machines. Unfortunately Namco Station appeared to be in some sort of bunker beneath the south bank of the Thames so no twittering or other such activities were possible.

Fun for all I believe, we're already planning to do something a bit more substantial next time.

Take it away, America...

Hear hear, Applepie!

Oh, and I'm officially the best UK goodjer at driving games. I'm so proud of myself.

I loved the bizarre quotes in that game

Thanks for a great meet-up everyone. I really enjoyed it. See you next time!

Glad you all had fun. Sorry not to have made it but the Lynch Lock In was totally worth it. Once in a lifetime experience.

We shall have to get together for boardgames and such this winter regardless.

Oh, I don't know, I won't ever be able to see Floomi's scowl when I told him his name gave me the associations of candy floss, marshmallows and fluffy white clouds again.

Just for you.

Mmmmmmm... Flooomiii

Yep, all the ladies love candy floss, marshmallows and fluffy white clouds.

After the rants, I now read his name as Fume-i. *badoom tish*
