Fable III Catch-All

Is there anything that creates Rage faster than a cutesy error page?

Shiny new copies of Fable III will include extra goodies.

The company announced today that new copies of the game will come with a one-time use card, granting them a few special items. Those include a Raise Dead potion, Slow Time potion, the Scot outfit for males or females, a Highlander Tattoo set, and the Red Setter dog skin to change the appearance of your pooch.

Raise Dead potion is nice but you'll still need to buy your newly undeceased wife a nice dinner and promise you'll never play with your guns in the house again.

Nice hat. Does that mean it's working now?

Is that Princess Lea as blacksmith?

Yep. It's buggy as all get-out in the appearance customization, but that's Silverlight on Mac for you.

Yeah, but I'm thinking about giving her back her old nose.

Yeah, but I'm thinking about giving her back her old nose.

But I got her that nose as a sweet 16 present!

Funny -- she doesn't look Druish.

I bet she gives great helmet.

Yeah, so it still doesn't work for me. I'm getting a Silverlight error, some script it can't seem to find. I'm updating Silverlight now - again - while pondering the irony that MS products work better on a Mac than on Windows.

Not working for me either. It seems to load okay, but when I try to hit the "Start Designing" button nothing happens. Tried it in both Firefox and Chrome, and at both the xbox.com and lionhead.com sites, with the same results. Stupid Microsoft.

The funny thing is I tried it a couple weeks ago and it worked fine, except that I realized that I hadn't gotten my preorder code from Amazon yet so it wouldn't save anything.

I messed with it a couple weeks ago too and it worked perfectly. Don't feel bad that you missed your opportunity, though. The people who did get their characters made got screwed far worse. At some point they changed the program, which changed the stats on any characters that had been saved up to that point. Personality traits changed, sexuality, everything. Well, you only get one shot at it. Once you confirm your character, that's it. No do-overs. Those people are now stuck with what they've ended up with.

I'm sure it'll be up and running again at some point.

OK, I got it to work by running it in Safari.

That means Internet Explorer doesn't work, Firefox doesn't work... Apple product? Just fine. Aces, Microsoft. I still didn't see any place for me to put in my pre-order code though. I guess I'll mess with it later.

You'll be prompted for it when you go to save your character.

OK. Neat. I wish there were more answers to choose from. Each question only offers "ridiculously kind," "maliciously evil," and "huge slut."

Sometimes you get "completely penniless."

No "maliciously penniless"? I want my class war!

Someone is streaming a playthrough right now.

OMG, the voice acting!

Bah, damn you live stream! Must resist, learnt my lesson from watching the Red Dead Redemption streams before it came out - kinda degraded the experience for the first few hours. Fable III's CE has been packed and ready to ship, hopefully I can actually play it next week

I know what you mean, I clicked the live stream and watched the recorded first minutes of the game and then decided to turn it off. Part of what made me love playing Fable 2 was that I had no idea what the world would look like and what to expect. I want to experience Fable 3 unspoiled too.

I'm still a little apprehensive whether the 2nd part of the game, in which it's more about ruling the kingdom and not exploring the land, is gonna be a hit or a miss. I'm anxiously awaiting the reviews, which should start coming in over the next few days. The game won't come out til next friday over here in Europe btw...

Yeah, I had to police myself after I found myself dawdling over the gameplay stream.

I mainly went in to do a technical assessment and came away more than satisfied. I was worried about the practicality of a "sanctuary" menu system, but it appears to work flawlessly, loading/exiting instantaneously.

The villager maker dealie finally worked. Assuming it works as advertised, there'll be a Lady Snogboffer wandering somewhere around my version of Albion.

I found quite a few Snogboffers in Fable II, though I'm not sure I'd call them ladies, if you get my drift.

Spoiler:

9 STDs from ONE of them.

Lady works fine. It's maiden that gets the wrong message across.

Oh, she got her message across, if you catch my meaning. And her message was "herpes."

So, we should probably start adding each other to each others friends list if we pre-ordered. Lobster, you changed your account name?

Seems like SOMEBODY is keen to get SOMEBODY else pregnant.

Heck, no! I'm not trusting Lobster with any of my money!

While I liked Fable 2 a lot, for some reason I haven't pulled the trigger on this one. I guess I've got a big enough backlog of RPGs.

Tempted to get in on the Amazon preorder credit deal, but just haven't done it.

I would spend it all on crunchy chicks. :9

I have not changed my account name, no. I've been Liberty Lobster for some years now.

In other news, the villager maker seems to be working now and not just on Safari. Mostly. The racial options are still glitching but the important stuff is working. Like it loads, for instance, and you can put in your code.

Going to wait till the last minute to see if they fix it the rest of the way.
