Venture Bros. Season 4 (and higher) Catch All

It's just that Dr O sells the line about Rusty's juju. No sarcasm at all in his voice and you KNOW he's lying his teeth off. It was the line of the episode for me, I think I rewatched that scene 4 times.

I don't think it's much of a hyperbole to say that, in a show teeming with great characters, Dr. O is one of the richest and best. We all love our King Gorillas and Captain Sunshines and Molotov Cockteases, but Orpheus is an entirely different plane (where he battles to maintain the balance of time and space itself), all the more remarkable because he doesn't show up all the time.

While I don't disagree, I think that his Master is my overall favorite. And for the same reason that his appearances are rare, but very noteworthy.

Way to quote something I said like a year ago. But I'm serious, hold on. This other head likes to clean my genitals with his mouth. I know it sounds weird, I let him do it because it feels great. Oh yeah. The problem is that I can taste it. So, I taste my own genitals. In my mouth. It's a... conundrum.

I'm surprisingly proud of Hank. He's really coming into his own.

I have loved every minute of this season so far.

And at the moment, if I had to rank my three favorite characters it would be...

1.) Dr. Orpheus
2.) Hank & Dean (Package deal, I figure)
3.) Shore Leave

Spoiler:

We all knew it was headed this way with 21 and Dr. Mrs. The Monarch, didn't we? Are we taking bets on who she ends up with by the end of the season?

That's that H. Jon Benjamin magic for ya. He's been one of my favorites since Home Movies, as one might have guessed by my avatar.

No love for Henchman 21 as a character? Close race between him and Dr. Orpheus for my favorite. I like the dichotomy each has--21 a recently-forged hardcase that still retains his geek tendencies, and Dr. Orpheus, MASTER OF THE ARCANE TORRENTS OF NECROMANCY and loving father.

Just ordered Season 1 on Netflix. This better be good.

I can respect where they're going with him, but man I miss the old 21 and his adventures with 24.

Henchman #24: Boss, there's a monster down here!
Henchman #21: I think it was two ninjas taped together to make one giant ninja!

The Mars, Bringer of War joke from early season 2 still destroys me. Like curled up laughter. It's just that damn good.

Spoiler:

I hope Dr Mrs stays with the Monarch. I like those crazy kids.

Spoiler:

I think a split would be golden. Dr. Ex-Mrs. the Monarch could get the rights to arch Rusty in the divorce. They could fight over custody of the "kids." It would be great.

I feel they went over that ground, with superlative results, in season 2.

Your point very effectively strikes home as I forgot about that.

My pumpikin for this year.

That is the greatest thing ever.

VERY nice work there. Totally envious of your pumpkin.

I watched most of Disk 1 of Season One before it failed due to scratches. I liked it! My wife thought it was stupid and too violent to watch with Lil'Bean. I got tired of her Female Doggoing at me, so I returned it and canceled Disk Two.

Thus endith my Venture Brothers saga.

I am never, ever, ever getting married.

I'm actually saying this to a man with many sharp weapons and a wife that kisses spiders: Your wife is objectively wrong.

Bah! unto your wife, Marsman. Bah! Anyway, I'm going to try to get through this without crying:

Spoiler:

King Gorilla, we wanted the surreal life, and you gave it to us. May flights of Tarzans carry you to thy rest, o king.

Agreed! I wish it was available on Netflix via Watch Instantly.

Full episodes are up on Adult Swim's page.

It's not a kid's show. Like South Park or Family Guy, it's the kind of show kids want to watch but shouldn't because they aren't going to get 90% of the references.

I would agree that it's not a show for kids. Doesn't mean you can't enjoy it though.

Time to build you a man cave in a separate garage complete with big screen HDTV, surround sound, and all of your consoles. Then, and only then can you have the solace and comfort of the Brothers of Venture.

My wife loves the show. You've just got to hold out for the right one. If she goes down and likes VB then you are in my brother, you are in.

Don't give me hope. I don't want it

It's less the marriage part and more the kids part that gets you into this sort of thing.

Any child of mine who, by the age of 6, doesn't think Venture Bros and The Wire are the best TV shows ever better like the taste of fish heads.

FTFY

Shore-Leave is my favorite character so far this season. he's had the best one-liners consistently within the last 3 episodes.

"TA-DA! Genital Formal wear!"
"It's like a Japanese Samurai mask-- one look and they're HYPNOTIZED!"

They've definitely been growing him into a good real character to counterpoint Brock.

I really wanted to be skins.
