(Super) Monday Night Combat Catch-All

interested yes, but I don't get home for another 2 hours.

I'd like to join in
gregnorg

Don't think anyone's really playing anymore.

I played a round or two the other day and the leaderboard is pretty much stagnant. Maybe once the DLC is released?

Yeah I hope we can get a night or two in when that happens. Seems like Halo killed this dead. I'd still be down for some, though.

Can only speak for myself, but Halo killed it dead for me.

That said, I've been thinking about dipping back into it. Will definitely do so once the DLC drops.

I couldn't really get into halo- I just sorta forgot about MNC one day. I want to get back into it but I'm going to be halfway across the country the rest of the week- by the time I get back I'll probably have forgotten about it again. This isn't an indictment of the game, I just have a sh*tty memory.

Looks like the patch is out. Anyone up for some?

Metric crap ton of details on the upcoming DLC. No word on what it costs there, but I think it's free...

I'm going to be buying this once I get my free points from the Game Feast business.

Sounds like it. I'll be back when it drops for sure.

I'm still getting on, about 4 times a week. Love to have some company

New DLC is out, which includes a new map or something. Haven't tried it out yet myself. They kinda dropped the ball by not including new achievements with the release.

I'm down to check it out.

Last time PlainGreyT and I got on, it was worse than at launch, with party problems, freezing in the spawn room, etc.

This was post patch a few weeks ago.

I loved this game when it came out, and would like to get back to it at some point. I just have too many games that work to put up with that stuff.

Was our experience an outlier, or is it still screwed up?

Only one way to find out (now that the new content/patch is out)...

Is this actually a patch? The new map is in effect free DLC you have to queue up. I didn't see where there was a patch beyond that one that came out a couple of weeks or so ago.

From the few games I've played this game seems to have experienced a rebirth

Games were 6v6 and while there were people leaving mid game there was a healthy stream of new players to fill their place. I also played the new map which seems pretty fun from what I've seen

So if you reget not checking this out or you enjoyed your time but have moved on to other things, you won't get a better oppertunity to play this game with play this game with a vibrant community and quick matchmaking than you will now

Also for 360 users theres a ~500mb patch to download

Grey and I played some this weekend, and it did seem better than the last time we played after the patch before the DLC. Didn't have the party/team problems, etc.

I may start playing a bit more again. Kind of a nice chaser to BC2 and BO.

Let's try forming up tonight. When's good for people?

I'll be around - the incompetance of pubbies is mostly what drove me away.

Well that and the support's firebase, which still needs to be nerfed. Spending an entire game as a tank/support/assault hunting down firebases and suffering a lot of deaths in the process is not my idea of fun.

Will another support's bomb take one out with one shot? Or the assault's?

Takes me 3 or 4 shots with grenades as a Gunner IIRC, maybe one shot less when upgraded to the triple grenades. Ends up being a peekaboo thing, but doable unless it's got a lot of cover.

The supports bomb will consistantly, but sometimes they're undercover or on high ground making a kill difficult/impossible, the assault is pretty dependable but your still exposed when using the bomb/greanade launcher combo

The problem I have with them is:

1) There's often a support next to them overhealing them - all game long
2) The range, damage and fire rate of a lv3 turret is insane, its like having a deployed gunner with dual miniguns that auto aquires targets

To balance a nerf I wouldn't mind the heal/hurt gun or shotgun getting a buff but the firebase in its current form really makes it hard for me to enjoy the game or want to keep playing it long term

I bought this a little while ago, haven't played it yet. I won't be able to tonight because of Monday Night Football <,<

Is it gonna be really hard for me to compete? Usually competitive online games are kind of overwhelming if you don't get in early.

Might be a learning curve and a lot of little details to figure out, but some of the classes aren't that bad to learn with. (Don't start with Assassin)

Looks like this is coming to PC on January 17. Steam page.

Maybe a new thread is needed?

I like MNC but I don't see why would people pay for TF2-lite when the real thing costs so little theses days

Also pc gamers are more likely to expect stuff to get balanced (class abilities, guns etc...) again ala TF2, but its been out a while on XBLA and sadly no such patch has been forthcoming...

I'm in for one on PC. Especially if they have dedicated servers.

I love the DOTA/TF2 vibe I get from watching videos of this game. Just the other day I was thinking it would be an insta buy for me if it even game on PC. I wasn't expecting it ever would. Pre-ordered and I plan to enable as many people as I can to do the same!

Seeing it up on the Steam page had me instantly excited. I really wanted to play this game when I first saw it, but don't have a 360. I'm very tempted to already throw down pre-order money but I know I need to wait until closer to launch to get some details.

And oh, via the Steam page the 2 features it lists:

Dedicated Servers
Editor support (Coming January)

Pre-ordering gets you into the beta, which starts on thursday: http://www.uberent.com/news/view/mon...
