He was hanging out with a pregnant girl in the background through the whole episode, usually when Shirley was on screen. Ironically, I noticed the girl, but failed to notice Abed was with her. Three cheers for Hulu!

Yeah, Shirley unfiltered was interesting and hilarious.

I loved how scared and sad Chang sounded when he said "I have a right to be here."

Did any Chang doubters come around, because, yeah, his stuff was great. Everyone's stuff was great!

"I can't understand what your saying when you speak in English."

"He hasn't seen it yet."

"Really?"

Way above par.

"I can't believe I made out with both of you."

If they have Annie and Brita wrestling in viscous fluids every season, I can see it going 10.

The bad news is Community's ratings took another thumping this week, down 0.2 to 1.7. The good news is all the other comedies on NBC Thursday took a thumping as well.

Bloody brilliant.

I didn't even notice that. I thought they were riffing on a joke from last season where he laid low for a week and didn't do anything.

Didnt she give birth at some point behind Shirley in the back of a van or something. It would be funny if Abed was the one delivering. Gonna look it up

Yup thats Abed:

Rewatched it on the Hulus, and he was.

Edit: Too slow!

I enjoy every time we learn more about Pierce's "Buddhist" sect. Energon pods!

"Why don't we open that question to the floor, since I don't know and the book for this class is expensive."

"Really. And I though psychology was a racket."

John Oliver was amazing in this episode.

Oh man I can't believe I missed Abed's adventure! I noticed him in the background once or twice, but did not put the story together.

The one scene of Abed's I didn't quite get was the one where the guy seemed to be bullying him. Knocked his cup away, started chasing him.

I think the husband was jealous that he was with his pregnant wife (gf?) so much.

"Is this anesthesiology?"

"Yes...just go with it."

Same here! I only found out this morning. The clip nossid linked provided a nice summary.

Dammit. You gotta link this thread in the Fall TV thread. I didn't even know it was here, and now I've missed weeks of fun discussion on my favorite comedy show on tv.

Did pick up the season 1 DVD, yes with kickpuncher comic, and it was great. Watched the whole thing over the last couple weeks, including commentary on every episode. A couple of episodes were pretty silly with the commentators just goofing around, but most of them were good.

Anyway, I think s2 started ok, and has gotten better each week. Not sure if the ratings are agreeing, but hey, that's why I went ahead and bought the DVD. I figure a little money can make up for some numbers.

I know this makes me the English Geek Du Jour, but I found what the Kickpuncher comic revealed about Troy's character fascinating. As the author, he reveals himself as both exploitative of and very protective toward the girls at the same time--note the Snake-Men have them tied up, but he precludes the idea that they have been violated by having the Snake-Men announce they are non-sexual, and yet again the master plan is a panty car wash. They kiss each other at the end and agree to live in the pyramid with Troy and Abed, with no implication of either getting action, and the first order of business is finding clothes. Since all this is hilarious, I intend to assume this characterization as an Immature Paladin Horndog is cannon until the show proves otherwise.

This week's felt like it aspired to Modern Warfare, but couldn't quite make it. It was merely great instead of a Towering Obelisk of Perfection. The asshole flag only got funnier the longer it was around.

"...yeah, this is a sticker."

The power rangers bit was great; it was also absurdly brilliant how quickly they solved the simulation once they decided to.

So uh, like I said in the fall tv thread... community made me hungry.

"Chicken?"

"Yeah!"

"I think I found a way to reroute power from the main battery!"
"Reroute to what?"

"Maybe if I do this it will solve everything."

You need to turn that to delicious.

I was afraid we'd get another Abed-lite episode. To some degree it was.

I missed all the other parts of the pregnancy, but I noticed him delivering at the end. I stopped the show and went back to see if I was dreaming or not.

Sweet merciful dancing Abed Jesus on a rubber crutch...tears...can't see...keep choking.

"I don't even believe in God...but I love me some Abed."

Epic.

Not the funniest episode but one of the best. When Shirley and Abed both said, "You humbled me," it could have been hugely cheesy but wasn't. Which is one reason why I love this show.

I don't think there has ever been an Abed-Shirley-Pierce episode. I rather liked it. All the Abed stuff seemed like a nod to the veneration he gets from fans. Plus, the meta-movie/tv stuff had me thinking of Inception memes.

One of Pierce's best.
