S&T in Vancouver between Wed, Oct 2oth ~ Mon, Oct 25th

I really do love your public transit.

I am about a 2 min walk away from the a #10 which goes downtown and to Marine Drive skytrain.

I have never owned a vehicl because I live in Vancouver.

You are so distanced from owning a vehicle that you've forgotten how to spell it correctly

Seriously - Vancouver rocks, and public transport there is quite good.

My place is available to those that wish to crash.

I volunteered my place since I have Rock Band and Guitar Hero World Tour, two bathrooms, two living rooms (fire places for each), a huge back yard, noise isn't a concern, etc all that good stuff.

I live on W57th and Granville (Cartier). Which is kind of far away for some people.

Pfffftttt....is that all you've got Vector? Sounds a lot more accommodating than my pull out couch and 1.5 bathrooms in North Vancouver - but that's still an option for anyone who needs it.

Besides, if you take the SeaBus, you get to see the crazy dude at the terminal furiously strumming his ukulele while yelling "Hurrrryyyy!!! Faster!!" at all the commuters rushing for SeaBus. Good times.

I might take the seabus sometime just to see this.

We lucked out. Found a 4 bedroom house for $535 each. Hadn't been inhabited since Chritmas (we took residence in April).

Oh yeah, we also have a unused den with a single bed too.

He's hilarious! He wears Hawaiian shirts and a goofy hat and yells at people and makes up lyrics to "Big Rock Candy Mountain" that should probably not be heard by children.

Nice!! Where did you find such an awesome deal? (Please don't say Craigslist, or I am going to go cry...)

Damn, I'd be down if it weren't on a Friday or Saturday Hope you guys have fun, and look forward to seeing more Vancouver S&Ts in the future!

We should really do this on Saturday the 23rd so that we can do ours the same time as Hedge-con and the Ohio S&T and create a mega-awesome GWJ Trifecta of rockitude. We could also, you know, ustream each-other and issue challenges and throw down gauntlets and such. The potential for mayhem and shenanigans is great.

Absolutely - I'm a ten minute walk from the SeaBus (and crazy ukulele man) and every bus ever is pretty much right there once you get off the Seabus - plus all the trains. Door's open if we need more space for folks to sleep.

Delerat - we should see who we can get together for a Wednesday or Thursday night drink or two. Then we can still all hang out.

Leave no Goodjer behind - the Vancouver S&T motto!

YES! I agree. Let us formally decree that weekend, and particularly the 23rd as the Gamers with Jobs Slap and Tickle Heard Round the World!

Outside of using the 360 party system, maybe we can get a conference video skype thing going.

We'll see about that.

ok! I can do a Thursday night drinking on the 21st? Who can make it to that one?

So Saturday, Oct 23 at Vectors it is? bring food and beer? Lets hope I don't get lost.

I'm down for this as well. I can find some free time on that Saturday night to show up. I've been meaning to get to an S&T to meet all the local Goodjers.

Now, the only thing left to do is to figure out how to tell my girlfriend I'm meeting up with people that I met on the internet...

With the explosion of International Goodjer Day, I'm going to see if I can rearrange my work schedule so that I can be there on Saturday.
I live on the island, so I'll likely only be able to hang out for one day lest I become a burden to someone's couch. Hopefully that day will be Saturday as it sounds the most fun!

Grr. That timing stinks. I will be out of town, unfortunately.

We're not weirdos at all! Some of us pretend to be perfectly normal and well-socialized.

Okay. I won't tell you.

My roommates know I've met GWJ folks before. Now I need to tell them that they will have to meet you guys too. Luckily they are all gamers and social awkward, they'll fit right in!

What the heck do chain letters have to do with it?

In any case, I have a pretty loose work schedule. So I'm free anytime given about a weeks notice.

hahaha chain letters as in working

btw. it looks like some of the goodjers wants to Skype from S&T to S&T...... to make this event national?

INTERnational, Donut/Jinniee, INTERnational.

I bow to your superior Craigslist skills! Sounds like a hell of a good deal.

No worries! Anyone who needs a place to sleep will have one.

Exactly! My normal and sane act is so good I even believe it most of the time!

Bump bump!

So Vector, are your roomies cool with us invading your space?

Also, if immigration lets me visit prior to moving, I may extend my time up there to earlier in the week, and would be interested in hanging out earlier in the week with peeps, too.

I talked to the GF about it and we are in, we have been needing an excuse to visit our neighbors to the north. Most likely spending the whole day up there with your funny money. It will most likely be her first GWJ event if I cant drag her to the board game day on the 10th.

Hmm. Count me in, if you'll accept newbies. (Well, new to the boards, that is).

We still planning something for the 21st too? I'm still in if we are.

Sweet. We just need to pick a time and place. So I'll throw this out there: 7 pm, Johnnie Fox's.

Just to warn you, the site does play music when you open it. I guess it's still 1992 for their webmaster.
