Vindictus Beta

i need a key.. thx!

I'm Phishposer on the East server. I friended a few folks who've posted nicks here. If this gets much bigger we should start a spreadsheet to keep track.

I play it in fits and spurts too. It is carpal tunnel inducing or at least the first 2 characters released are. I will be back once they release the caster character.

I too have reservations about longevity due to what was mentioned above. The first dungeon does reuse a lot of the same parts with an extra room or two and a gnoll boss of a different color.

I know equipment does matter because I had my helmet "break" during a boss fight. It did seem to get a bit tougher after that point but I was so busy mashing that I wasn't paying attention to it.

Been trying to find a key for a couple days now and several sites without anyone passing more keys forward. Would like to get one if anyone has one left at all

So, what are your thoughts so far on this game? I've never heard of it up until this minute when I read this thread and watched a couple videos. Combat does look really cool but how are the other aspects of the game? Somebody mentioned that it somehow feels like Guild Wars and that's a good thing in my book.

If anyone got a spare key, I'd appreciate one. [EDIT] Thanks guys, got it! [/EDIT]

I'm on East, and cyrax and I have each other on our respective friend's list.

You can send friend request while the intended recipient is off line.

I have been playing it in fits and starts and have enjoyed my time, but do have questions for anyone who is higher level than me (lvl 9).

Does the game get any harder? So far at lvl 9 every instance has been laughably easy even on hard, and I have used a total of 2 health pots. Is group content significantly harder?

Are the instances any larger or more open than the starting dungeon, the Perilous Ruins?

Going through the same basic dungeon with a different colored Gnoll boss at the end is getting a little tired, as is the loading screen after every two or three corridor/rooms?

Do stats/armor matter? I keep earning these titles which give permanent boost to various stats, and better armor, but I can't really feel a difference.

Anyways, as a fun little 30 minute diversion it has been fun, but I do wonder about the game's legs.

If anyone has an extra key...I'd love one!!!

I played for about half an hour last night and I gotta say that I was impressed with the presentation. The interface looks sleek, character models and animation look really good and combat feels tight most of the time. I only got to level 4, so I'm not sure how the game will progress skill wise and gear wise. If I can't buy different skills or combos, I see that it could become boring a bit too fast, smashing the attack key and doing a few of the combos available now.

It has a solid foundation apparently and I want to see what the game offers at later levels.

Keys sent to rxfc20b and Doomsayer013, who were next in line without a key as far as I can tell.

My wife and I played this last night and had a pretty good time.

Presentation is nice and the gameplay is ARPG lite. It's actually a good "tweener" game for people who don't have a lot of action game experience.

There is a good variety in the combat at the onset with contextual finishing moves (I like the one when the enemy is near a wall), throws, kicks, and the simplistic combo system.

I'm not really sure how they can get much more depth out of the game though. Overall I think this is a good game for people who don't have a lot of action game experience on the PC and people who enjoy hunkering down for some mindless Diablo style monster smashing.

The story I'll be hones I just clicked through it. I find the drawn out conversations a bit annoying but they are easily enough clicked past.

Definately has some potential for a F2P game as a more action oriented alternative to the typical MMO.

My thoughts exactly.

And speaking about badferret's point on difficulty, based on my limited grouping of a lvl 5 mission I didn't notice an increase in difficulty at all. Because of that it felt like I was just playing with AI that were taking some of my challenge away. Of course, for all I know the party leader might not have changed the party #, which may affect the difficulty. Don't know why that's even an option when the game should be able to tell on its own, just thought I'd point that out as a possibility.

I'd like to say it gets harder at higher levels but I'm not sure if it does or if I just suck. One of the missions I'm stuck on the boss hits me for half of my health in one hit. Also recently some of the bosses will fully heal up on me from almost near death. Talking like one or two hits left on them.

Brizahd, are you sure they are healing up? It was a rude shock the first time it happened to me, but what I noticed is that the boss had a X2 by the health bar. You didn't have him down to 1%, you had him down to 51%.

Had a helmet break when fighting the white gnoll archer boss. I just broke LOS, hid behind a pillar, took out a newbie armor repair kit, fixed my helmet and got back in the fight. Solo. The boss kept trying to shoot me, but the pillar blocked his shot.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to use the repair kits.

thanks alot!

I have one extra key available. First one to send me a PM gets it.

I've played to level 14 or so, and I can't say I'm too impressed. Although the combat is fun, the non-persistence is really annoying. You can be talking to some person you met in one second, then get teleported to a random channel the next.

The random dungeons can be fun, but does get boring...also, what the heck is with the <25 mission limit per 3-4 day? (This is only for missions for the second story arc).

I'll take a look, any keys still around? I've got a key now.

Still looking for a key....keep the love comin people.

Key sent to dtddoc

Anyone have an extra key. Would love to play. lol

And there goes my second key.

I count it as paying it forward for myself. I only discovered the site last year while looking for a Founder Referral for LotRO (Thanks again Deadron!). I wish I had discovered it, and the podcast, years earlier!

I've been searching for a key as well; if anyone has a spare, it'd be much appreciated! C:

If anyone had a spare key I would love to try this game out. Thank you.

Has anyone been able to log on today?

If anyone still has a key, I'd like to join up. Thanks!
