I may fire up NCAA 11 today, and consider taking the Kansas team if folks are cool with it.

I have no problem if you want to join back up. Most human vs. human games are done. The league should move quickly since it is mainly system games. If you want, I can send you an invite tonight when I get home. It's clearly up to you.

DO IT!! And I want to play Kansas in the next season...haven't had enough overtime games!

Twisting of arm complete. As soon as I see that invite I will jump in.

As soon as I get home, I will send the invite. We also have 3 more spots open if anyone else is interested.

Sheepishly.... Me. Took my break, got a job and feeling better.

So got a recruiting questions for you folks, as well as a dynasty update.

So say that stud player you have been targeting all season up and soft commits to another school on you. At what point do you guys give up on them? If you are playing with a big time school with nothing but A's and A+'s for your ratings and the stud just soft committed to a lesser school this may not apply to you as you have a pretty good chance to sway them your direction.

Say your UNC, which happens to be my dynasty, I'm not that big time of a school yet. I've got just as many B and B+'s as I do A and A+'s. I'm of the opinion now that if a kid I'm targeting soft commits to a team like Florida, Texas, or Notre Dame, it is pretty much game over man. Especially if the other team is going to either have a kid come visit first or if I've already had my visit.

So say you are close (commit bar full green) number two on their list and your team is on par ratings wise with the first team. You may have one or two things you have an advantage in when comparing the your school to their first choice, but your only able to get less then say -25 points against the other school a week. Is this in your opinion worth pursuing?

Do you think the caliber of the player has something to do with this as well? Would I have better success turning a 3* versus a 4 or 5*?

I've got two regular season games left in year three of my dynasty.

Year one went awesome, winning the ACC and then the Orange Bowl. Having some incredible battles to get those wins.

Year two was brutal as I couldn't recruit a single SS or CB, thankfully I had a strong DL and LB core and was able to recruit FS that I flipped to SS, and had two good CBs left. I pretty much played a 4-3 defense all year, even when my opponent ran 5 WRs at me. I lost the ACC championship game to BC and then won a minor bowl game.

Year three has been much better but I've got a really young but talented secondary, three freshman and a sophomore. One of my freshman CBs is leading the list for the Thorpe award. My team is undefeated and number 1 in the country, the number 2 team (third in the BCS rankings) in the country is undefeated Central Michigan. That could make for the weirdest National Championship game I've seen in NCAA football if they can win their final game and then their conference championship.

I'm really looking forward to next year with my 5* QB coming off his redshirt year, I also had a super stud SS transfer in who was redshirting this year. I'm contemplating running the 3-3-5 next year with my good coverage CBs and now two high quality SSs.

Awesome...please come back!!

I will often pursue these cases. For example, in our online dynasty, I had a 5* MLB soft commit to USC, but I was neck and neck with them, both of us had full green bars in the display. A 5* MLB for me would be a sorely-needed addition, so I sunk 60 minutes into the guy. For me, if he hasn't hard committed, I'm still in play. If he's someone I really want, I feel like it's not a done deal until he signs. I also had enough time to commit those 60 min and get a good amount of time in on my other targets.

I actually got lucky, as I got a 2x bonus on the call. I managed ~+991 points while bringing USC down by -59. I fully expect he'll be at Notre Dame next year...

I would love to come back. Just need an invite if there are spots and I'm welcome.

Of course we'd welcome you back! The only down side is I've just beat your Beavs last week, would've been fun to get that head to head match up in. That and Quizz is out for several more weeks I didn't do it, I swear!

Quizz is made of paper mache in this game. It's fine. I'm even more jacked about it as I'm going to the game in Corvallis Saturday and then the biggee, I travel to Boise the week after.

DS: I have no problem if people want to join the league. There are three spots open and if you want one of them, I will send you an invite tonight. We are currently in Week 8 with one game left to play. Notre Dame (firesloth) vs. Boise State (Counselar).

You should take a Big 12 team I have left on my schedule. Unless you're scared....

Water is warm, come join us.

Actually, there's some Panthers blood in the water at the moment, maybe that's why it's warm.
BIG EAST IS MINE FOR THE TAKING!!!!!!!!!!

I would consider it. Are we rolling the league over, though, and continuing with the teams we have? If so I'd like to have some continuity with a team I love. Either way I can choose after the invite, so I'll take a look at who plays you. I could use a change of pace after 6 seasons with Oregon State and Portland State total.

My goal and hope is to have this league go on for as long as it can possibley go. If you want to take Oregon State, then go ahead. If you want to take someone else, that is fine too. This year, I adjusted the schedule so everyone played three human opponents. Next year, if we stay with 10 teams, I would like everyone to play 4 human opponents. The only thing I quite haven't figured out is how to control the off season recruiting. Any suggestions?

So how do I grab a team, then? Don't I need an invite? If you're running it that way I'll just take OSU and look forwarded to the human scheduled games.

OSU? Oklahoma State or Oregon State right?

Oregon State. THE OSU.

When you accept the invite, you should be able to pick your team. After that you knwo the rest. Recruit maybe even play a game this week.

Yeah, I just haven't been on the other side.

So I wasn't sure if I had to wait for an invite or not. Signed up. Thanks!

Welcome back!

There are two more spots open if anyone is interested.

I did pick this game up again and would be interested in getting schooled repeatedly until I get my game legs back under me...if you'd have me.

The good news is that chances are, you can get back into shape against the PC for the last half of the year, since that is what most of us are playing down the stretch. Then, when you hit bowl week, we may have a crack against another human opponent. It's a good time to join! If you hurry in, you can snag a team to play for Week 8 while we're waiting on Boise St/Notre Dame on Sunday.

*EDIT*
PM Shag26 to join.
(League Website)

PM sent.

What teams are available?

Back when this was getting rolling I was going to go with the Wolverines to bring them back to glory, but if everyone has taken teams of lower regard I have no problem finding someone else.

I think taking Michigan is more than fine, especially since firesloth has Notre Dame. I helps with the scheduling next season
I think Shag will be more than happy to approve that.

I have NCAA 11 and would be happy to join if you have an open slot still. I can't claim any awesome skill, but I like playing.

Who were you thinking of picking up.

Wow. I just finished my original 3 year Oregon State dynasty. Rodgers got injured in the second game and I nursed Jovan Stevenson towards greatness. In his senior season he broke Barry Sanders' single season rushing record, scored 40 touchdowns and finished 3rd in Heisman voting.

Meanwhile in my "TeamBuilder" dynasty with Portland State University Connor Kavanaugh just won his second Heisman.

So, question to those of you that have run Road to Glory. I'm giving it another try and would like to know if it is possible to not have the names of the other players randomly generated? Hell, I would prefer to have the default name of positions and jersey number over the random names. I can't seem to find this option when I start up my Player.

Did you try downloading a custom roster first (RomanCaesar, Fairdale Kings, etc.) and then starting the game while that was loaded?

Do download the rosters -- search for PastaPadre (space or no space?) in the roster download section of XBL.

When you start a dynasty, I think you have to tell it to randomly generate names, even though it uses your roster. If you don't let it generate names, it uses only numbers, even if you have a roster available. However, can someone confirm this?
