Official Gamers with Jobs Slap & Tickle Heard 'Round the World! October 23rd

I haven't seen anything official yet. Hopefully we can get something going here, unfortunately I won't be able to make it to Oily's B-day/Slap & Tickle Extravaganza-- I need my fix somehow, though!

There's a pretty large crew of Chicago folks. Somebody has to host *something!*

Extremely filthy skimmer here (although I actually did skim every page, which the term doesn't usually denote).

Houston S&T info.

Is there a chronicle of the S&Ts BNPederson has attended?

Nothing good ever happens in Chicago.

No. But clearly there should be.

Um, for the record -- you guys are awesome.

On a personal note, if there's anything I can do to support this PM me anytime.

Is there really no one within an hour or so of Kansas City that is up for an S&T? I feel like I am the saddest little goodjer, here. I have the will, but no one one to slap and/or tickle.

Don't be sad, if we had the money we would make the drive. We just don't have the gas for the ~3 hour trip.

Hmmmm. How can we solve this problem? Bring you in over VC? Find you a job with a sweet relocation package to a city with an already established S&T?

Benticore is either driving or flying to my place and his kid is less than a month old. Man up and come to Ohio =)

Anyone around these parts? Tennessee, maybe?

Clearly this is gaining a momentum of its own. Next week we'll collect all the different parts together and put it in an easy to follow and understand page. Let's see how big we can make this thing and how many kids we can help in the process

We need some goddamned t-shirts of that.
Holy crap.

Brother... You do not disappoint. That is sooo awesome!

I have a feeling that this event is going to rock hard, and dare I suggest, become an annual International Goodjer Day? The question isn't if, but whether it should be on Oct 23rd each year, the weekend before Halloween, or some other date forever enshrined in cool.

PS. The lens flare makes me want to pee my pants. So awesome. So very awesome.

Thanks, guys!

I can't speak to how well this would reproduce on a t-shirt, but I can say I made this big enough to be printed at 18" x 24". I'll have to figure out a good place to put the file.

It was the last thing I added. Really ties everything together.

Agreed!

Simply beautiful!

I would gladly buy it in either t-shirt or miniposter form. All profits from the sales could then be added to the GWJ Child's Play donation.

Gorram, UK Goodjers. You're letting the side down!

I can technically make it to a NYC Slap and Tickle, but it would be much more convenient to do one in Feeladelphia.

I've noticed a few people mentioning they are in Pennsylvania and Delofware, but don't know who. Either way, it might be a small gathering mayhaps (though I'd be glad to bring friends).

I updated the map to include the S&T in VA.

No takers for Western MA? May just have to make it a family game day pre-podcast or something!

I'm working on live call-in tech. No promises.

Just take your family on vacation to your Mother-in-law's and then come to HedgeCon. You know you want to. It's where all the cool kids will be.

Seattlites, any plans?

That is truly epic artwork!

I did call dibs on everything West of the Mississippi, rabbit. Come see how different our leaves are from your leaves that time of year.

Well, I planned mine on that day because it's my birthday. So, yes, I desperately want to have a hand in making my birthday International Goodjer Day.

I also plan on doing one of these annually because, frankly, I love these kinds of things.

I just don't think it's feasible to always have an S&T on that day, though, as it will rarely fall on the weekend.

How about this: October 23rd of every year kicks off a week where we focus on ourselves as a community. The fun we have, the good we can do, we just generally spend that week patting ourselves on the back and just enjoy being... us. If we make it 7 days, then it will end the day before Holloween and there will definately be a weekend in there that we can do another international S&T day. Plus, the annual fund drive will be wrapped up by that point (if this year was any indication) so we'll all be sitting fat and happy knowing we have another year of being a community ahead of us.

Also, we can focus our Child's Play fundraising efforts on a single week. If we always know when it's coming, then we can be ready to publicize the hell out of it and raise as much money as we can. And better yet, we can plan events throughout that week to raise money.

Sweet picture! As soon as I opened it my 2 year-old daughter said "I wanna go space! We can build a rocket ship and go space. 3 2 1 blast off! Daddy, you build a rocket ship for me?" I'm so proud.

Unless something unexpected happens, I'll be at HedgeCon

It's also Elysium 3.0's birthday that day, oily.
