NCAA College Football 2010 *Catch All*

Pages

It is almost that time again. Just three more days to the kickoff of the College Football season, with The Ol' Ball Coach and his fighting c*cks taking on Southern Miss.

A lot of people have South Carolina as a SEC dark horse, but I can't shake their performance against UConn in their bowl last year, plus they might be facing some key suspensions from an ongoing NCAA investigation.

The other big games of the opening weekend are: UNC vs LSU, Oregon State vs TCU and Va. Tech vs Boise.

For the season, I don't see Bama repeating. You do not lose 10 defensive starters and not miss a beat. If Boise can get past the Hokies they should be in the national title hunt, along with Ohio St, SEC team X and maybe Oregon, if the latter can capitalize on the Trojan's diminished state.

BYU has until Wednesday to tell the Mountain West if they are going to stay for 2011-12 or go independent/WAC (or independent/WCC).

Also, according to this SportingNews story, back after Boise left the WAC, the conference was exploring the idea of adding BYU, San Diego State, Houston, and UTEP to form a 12-team conference. It was dubbed, "The Project".

The WAC believes that C-USA (who has Houston) tipped off the MWC of the WAC's plans to poach 3 of their teams, and that that led to the MWC's retaliation when it looked like BYU might actually leave.

Kind of makes Karl Benson's whining about Fresno State and Nevada being "selfish" a laughable statement. The WAC went shopping in the MWC's cupboard and the MWC raided the WAC's instead.

Only a few weeks late.
But hey I don't mind repeating this ...

Mark Richt cameo slightly after the 2 minute mark and near the end.

Best YouTube comment:

"Ironically, this video is also used for Georgia Tech's recruitment."

I'm all about some NCAA Ticket to Ride or Risk competition...

Apologies to Prederick for missing the earlier thread.

Yes, a somewhat unfortunate video with the school's current party ranking, and with the AD being fired this summer.

But hey, at least our players are not mutinying.

And of course there is this classic: Gators' wear jean shorts.

Yeah that mutiny tore UF apart. We aren't fielding a football team this season.

Excellent news! The burden of continuing minus Timmy and his jorts must have been to much to bear.

Anyways, there is plenty of time until the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, when undoubtedly the Gators will beat the Dawgs again, so I shall move on to more pressing subjects.

Such as, can Lane Kiffin's Trojans beat Hawaii?

"YES JK NO LOLZ" is awesome.

I'm partial to "NEAUX" myself.

Also, IT BEGINS.

Well, technically not until 7 PM EST tonight, but I had a "thank god Football's back" drink at midnight anyway.

Finally, they start counting!

FSU is doing quite well!

Governor's Cup battle today. Go Cards!

Excited about our new coach, Charlie Strong. I know we still aren't up to par after the mess that Krapthorpe left us the last 3 years. But I'm hoping for .500 ball, or maybe a little better and a bowl. I'm sure there's more potential there that wasn't tapped last year.

Holy crappy Gators offense. I feel like I just watched a loss. Luckily my wife scheduled a birthing class for today so I got to watch the last 3 quarters on the dvr. I actually begged her to go to the class early after bad snap #3.

Go FSU and USF! Glad they beat the scrubs in the ground! FSU has a tough game next week, they have a serious schedule this year for sure!

Considering the disparity between the teams on the field today, this should be considered preseason and not count on the official record. The only real winners are the small schools like San Jose State who get million dollar paychecks just to be sacrificial lambs to the big schools like Alabama.

Well, we looked like sh*t.

Hey! We can beat Akron!

Quit your complain' and go hook up with one of those tennis players like I saw on Jim Rome's ESPN show.

Hope your defense plays that well next week against FSU!

Fresno State's found some pass rushers finally.

11 sacks all of last year. 6 sacks so far tonight.

Crappy day to be a Jayhawks/Rebels fan, eh?

I like this college football on Sun afternoon. I sometimes think they should keep that going during NFL time. I know they have a Sun night ESPN game sometimes. But right now, 2 games on ESPN/2 and one of them is actually close and entertaining at halftime. Other just started.

For the Rebels (assuming you mean Ole Miss), with all the Masoli stuff of the past month, I think the word of the weekend is Karma. Not sure if it was the distraction of the previous week or an absolute failure of preparation on everyone's part, but that was a sucky second half performance. Then I saw 2-3 more teams try to repeat that same thing later in the day. Not against such a weaker school, but it was like the Rebs showed the way on to blow a sure-fire win and others took it to heart.

Fresno's gonna thump Ole Miss in a couple weeks anyway, with their vaunted new pass rush. 8 sacks against Cincy! Monsters now!

You will not get any debate from me on that.

Go Hokies! No chokie!

Why would you want to ruin Boise St's chance to mess with the BCS again? We need them in there, to push for playoffs!

They're chokie so far.
