Minecraft Multiplayer: GWJ World

Whups. How did I do a double post 10 minutes apart and with another post in the middle? I blame my network.

Sorry FedoraMcQuaid, didn't see your request for warp points on the Great Southern Road and thanks Xuis for stepping up and making a few. I barely got on the server yesterday anyway.

(And can anyone set warp points? How are people setting them? Just building platforms then telling you where they are?)

There is some interesting geography along the road. Under the Road near the Great Tower there's a cave system (the entrance to the tower is actually in the cave). Some steps lead down towards the cave from the road. And there's a very extensive cave system further south; a couple of entrances are marked with torches.

I dunno how much time I'll be on this week and I'll be at Dragon*Con for a chunk of the weekend. My current project is the circular keep to the north but I'm not sure what I'm going to be doing with it.

Mantis set Xuis and I up with permissions to set warp points.

BTW, this doesn't work. No matter how much I summon, the most I pick up is 64.

It was working the other night but now seems to be broken.

I was never able to do it. LM was standing next to me crapping tons of pedo-saplings all over and I could only ever summon 64 He even LAUGHED at me.... a square pedo bear laughing at my small saplings... I think Im scarred for life

Hey, if it is good enough for the Ghouls 'n Ghosts knight...

By the way, I have mastered the secrets of flight. And with one easy step you can as well! Extract it to the .minecraft directory (C:Users[User]AppDataRoaming.minecraft for Vista) and run flyer.jar. It will start up Minecraft with a flight module. There are 3 modes, Hover where you float at the same height and use C and E to go up/down, Jetpack where holding Z increases altitude, and Flight Sim where you have constant forward thrust.

Use at your own risk. But it could be helpful as long as we are doing purely creative stuff. Remember though, don't use it to explore the world as much as possible, because that will bring down the sever sooner or later.

game crashes on startup when using this for me

edit: disregard.

As a heads up, the waterfall (currently dry) just to the left of Chiggie's coat of arms is blocked up from the main source right now so I can work on getting the flow to be a bit more even so it looks better and does go sideways and crap. I've gotten it to the point where I can unblock it, it'll flow down and then I can re-block it and it all dries up. Much nicer than before where I had to go down the whole thing making it fall at each little level of it.

Edit: all done

Anyone else having trouble connecting to http://mantisonthemountain.com/minec... ?

Edit: Nevermind, finally connected.

nope

I had a problem earlier today but it's fine now.

It may seem like my giant wooden fist punching out of the ground is done, but it is not, I assure you.

For anyone who gets really bored, I'm going to start cleaning up all the loose torches around Kirby Land as I'd like to try and keep it fairly preserved and natural-like (that doesn't mean you can't build there, just no lava spawns/giant tnt blasts). Anyone who has nothing better to do can be a cool guy and help out (they're also littered around the small islands too but I'm going to ignore those for now.

And yes, I DID place all those torches in the first place.

But I planned a lava-covered blast bit for the area!

That doesn't sound nearly as fun as my planned empty pit down to the bedrock.

Okay, I finished my project. Linked for reasons that will become apparent.

(Anyone sets it on fire before that will make me very cross. )

Arovin approves of this Water Slide! Well worth the entrance fee.

Stone, that is freaking awesome.

I have begun work on a mega-project.
Will finish today once I can connect and stop raging about night time.

When future generations write of the first that walked this land, they will truly know that we were gods. And, that when the gods that shaped the land opened their mouths and spoke the words that would become religion, they probably said something like, "f*ck all teh noobs!!1!"

(That actually is a pretty damn impressive hand. Free hand or did you have a guide?)

Has anyone laid claim to any of the islands in the northern sea? I'd like to do some pretty significant building in that area, but I don't want to overlap someone's claim.

Chiggie, that's quite a nice waterfall cavern dealie you've got going there.

Quintin, I would love to know just what that deuce is aimed at. Looks like... the sun? F*** you, sun! When are you lightning that baby up? I'd love to be around to watch. Also to help clear trees to avoid the most offensive world DIAF ever.

Anyone who hasn't seen Par's pit for a while (or at all) should come take a gander, it's really come a long way from just a giant stack of TNT in the ground

Pretty much free-hand (pun intended??). Used my own hand as a guide, ended up making a lot of adjustments during construction. I made the fist first, then extended the middle finger after that was finished.

Well, uh, it was meant to be aimed at the spawn/Fort Cracker, but I managed to get turned around during construction so now it flips off the rising sun.

I'm planning to set it on fire some time between 11pm and 12midnight (Eastern) Friday night. There will be TNT in the tip of the middle finger.

I'm trying to figure out if I can be up at 5 am to see that. Probably not, but it's tempting.

Nice, I'll be there if I remember. FYI though, fire/lava does not ignite TNT. I once built a lava wall out of TNT and nothing happened.

I did not know that. The wiki says fire will ignite it, but I'll do some testing and if it won't work, I'll figure out something else to detonate it.

My testing indicates that a wood fire will indeed trigger TNT. The big crater south of my dome thing is pretty conclusive. I was expecting/hoping to see an explosion, but it was just there one second and a big crater the next.

Oh. Well, the more you know.
