hehe... Yeah, epics back in the day were more "epic" if you will.. very very rare and left to only 40 man raids. Even 20 man ZG drops a lot of blues with just a few purples thrown in.
If you're planning on running Ramps, I'd recommend keeping it in the 61-62 range at best; anything over that and you'll be able to blow through it on a smaller scale than I was going through Arlokk.
I dinged 62 in raid last night, so I will just not log on this week
I would say stay 61-62 and we can probably do strat and ramp this coming week.
as "easy peasy" as they are, I had many, many, many hellacious pug runs through Ramparts and Blood Furnace when I leveled my ret pally through them using LFD. They take, what? 10-15 min, 20 max in general, right? Sometime I'll order an ale and have everyone pull up chairs around the fire and I'll regale you with my tale of the Blood Furnace run that took 2 hours and went through about 15 different puggers.... *shudder*
Is it just me, or are the first few instances in BC a sort of "back to basics" thing? I've done the first 3 a few times on my DK, and they are easy peasy. What gives?
That was definitely the idea. Instances towards the end of Vanilla WoW were heavily centered on raiding, places like Stratholme, UBRS and Scholomance were completely vacant. Either you raided, or you did mostly nothing.
So for BC, they wanted people to get back to using CC(which was rendered moot very quickly) and things like that.

I played in the BC beta, and even then people were AOE tanking all of the early instances. It wasn't as ridiculous as it is now, but I certainly didn't see a lot of CC going on.

Like I said, that's what Blizzard *wanted*. It was most certainly not what they got, at least not right off the bat. There was definitely a good bit of it as people started in on the final 5 mans and started into heroics.
Just letting you guys know I'm chomping at the bit over here. It is going to be hard as hell not to hit 63 before Monday! It feels like a nic-fit almost.
Here's to hoping my DK tides me over...
Yea, I've been utterly unsuccessful. Pally tank is 64.
Cuz I'm having too much fun with my "OP" DK, I went a little overboard and hit 63 last night. Did half a level in quests and half a level came from one instance of slave pens.
And here I was, holding back by trying to level up my professions in the meantime. (Trying to get them to Grand Master before my Wrath trial runs out, since I am a Gamer Without a Job.)
Its so frustrating having a 65 DK and not having internet.
I love 5th Wheels!
We are still doing strat first right? With the levels we currently are, we will blow through that place fast. Outlands here we come!
I'll be there, although I may have to cut out a bit early again. Looking forward to it!
I should be on if I am not playing Crackdown 2:)
Dammit, my internet comes back on Tuesday.
I had an unexpected business trip come up and I'm boarding a plane in a couple minutes... Not sure if I'll make it or not tonight. Looks like I have some catching up to do anyway, I'm still firmly 61.
So how'd it all work out for ya? As for Deathcharger, I hate to say it, but I wouldn't plan on anyone picking one up unless you plan on spending the next 8 or 9 levels in there. Drop rate for that mount is something like 1 in 1000.
We demolished both live side and deathside with only one wipe.......and then a certain shaman rezzed, and got ganked, so the other shaman tried to rez while the mobs were distracted beating on the first shaman....not gonna name names, its more fun to have ya'll guess who was which:) I was the DK getting teabagged by the spider....
You need to be 68 to enter KZ. I'm not sure about ZA but both are worth seeing.
You know, I'd re-sub just to run Kara again. (really, I'm just looking for an excuse to start playing again ) My Shaman only needs like 1500 rep for exalted there.
Karazhan is vastly superior as a well designed raid. ZA was fun, but more aggravating than anything I thought.
As for dropped mounts, they are RARE. Like I said, Deathcharger's Reins is very seriously 1 in a thousand or so; the Zulian Tiger/Raptor mounts are in the same neighborhood.

Yeah, back when it first came out I raided ZG weekly for a looong time and we never saw either of the mounts drop.
