Warehouse 13 - SciFi TV series

Odd, I have this sudden, unexplained urging to watch Nip/Tuck...

Sooooo, that episode was awesome. I knew they could write great TV if they wanted to.

I kinda saw the twist coming at the end. But it was a good episode.

Any word on if it's been picked up for another season? If dreck like Sanctuary gets more air time, then Warehouse 13 definitely should.

From the bits I've read the network (I refuse to write their idiotic name) has been super happy with the ratings Warehouse 13 has drawn so far. I could be mistaken but I thought there was already a news bit floating around somewhere saying they had already picked it up for a second season.

*edit*

Yup! Found it. They apparently went ahead and said go for it on a second season back in August.

I was pretty unimpressed with the finale...

Spoiler:

I just couldn't for the life of me figure out what MacPherson's goal was. It seemed to contradict itself throughout the episode.

At the beginning it appeared he wanted money from selling artifacts; after all he went to great lengths in the previous episode to acquire Poe's pen.

Then it seemed that maybe he just wanted the pen and phoenix so that his buddy could use them to setup Artie and ruin him, but if so, why did he even reveal himself in the underground bunker?

Oh right, he revealed himself so he could get caught, and thus force Mrs. F to clean his blood so he could get into the warehouse.

But wait, he already had an inside person in the warehouse, so why would he need to get in?

Oh, to blow up the entrance so nobody else can get in, but couldn't Leena have done that just as easily?

Ah, I see, he had to make sure Artie was in the entryway when it exploded.

But now that the entrance is gone, MacPherson has no way to get back in either right?

Why go to all that trouble, and put yourself in so much risk, just to lock yourself out of the warehouse that contains all the artifacts?

Bah, maybe I'm overthinking it, but it seemed an overly convoluted plan to me...

Spoiler:

Anyone want to take me up on my $5 that Artie had the Phoenix on him still?

That's the first thing I said to my wife when it was over.

Spoiler:

Yeah, that seems like the obvious solution. The question is, who dies if the Phoenix protects Artie? MacPherson and Leena are safe, since they've touched it already. Of course, they could always trot out some BS about the Warehouse neutralizer system or something.

Spoiler:

Of course, don't forget that Ms. Frederick realized something was up and headed back. She seems to have power of some kind, so its possible she put the mojo on Artie. I really don't want Claudia to leave the show. She was fun. It would be interesting to see how they operate without Artie.

edit* Just found this out, did you know that Mika's parents in the last episode are married in real life? Didn't know that.

I wasn't 100% sure, but I noticed the mom's last name was Hogan so I assumed as much.

Still think Michael Hogan should've thrown in a "frak" for good measure.

Maybe the wifey won't abide a foul mouth.

Spoiler:

I think MacPherson is still in the warehouse. Artie fought with Leena who was disguised as MacPherson.

I also think there's a decent chance Artie had the Phoenix medallion.

I couldn't help but think "Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal" when Leena was freeing MacPherson. Was it obvious to everyone else that Claudia was never involved in the stealing of the artifacts and the Leena was obviously the "inside man"?

What kind of floored me once it occurred to me is that

Spoiler:

They should have realized much earlier that there was an inside man just from the involvement of Myka's parents.

well well well you get a gold star.

It has a very Buffy the Vampire Slayer flavor about it, doesn't it?

I enjoyed the season premier. Like Eureka, W13 fills a niche for me in entertainment that is just straight up fun.

It might be just me, but like Eureka, it seems to have found its footing in its second season.

I am really enjoying the series, and the guests on the most recent episode were great.

so, season 1 of this is just out on DVD here at a reasonable price - worth picking up?

It's a fun show, I don't know if I would say purchase worthy because that is all up to the individual. See if you can't find a rental copy and watch the 1st disk. That may give you enough info to go on.

I'm wondering what it won an Emmy for. I mean, it is a fun show, but Firefly or BSG it ain't.

Did it win one? IMDB says it was nominated for "Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music".

Huh, while an achievement, not something I would advertise as "the Emmy winning show". Now Lie to Me has awesome theme music.

Anyone watching the new season?

The Eureka crossover?

Bueller? Bueller?

Arise!

I finally watched the Warehouse 13 premiere tonight. It was really good! A lot of great jokes and the new addition might make for an interesting dynamic.

Cool, it's back on over here in a couple of weeks, so I'm hoping that Sfyf repeat season 2 so that I can drool over Myka and HG Wells together.

Note to casual readers - in this version, HG Wells is female. At one point she dresses like Lara Croft.

Just so you know, like.

Is it just me or does Claudia look a little like Carey Byron from Mythbusters?

It's not just you - I think it's the shape of the nose and the voice.
