Post a Picture - Something You Created!

You created that Tempest? That's awesome. At first I wondered how the heck did they manage to take pictures of galaxies merging. Then I saw the Gyr unit and realized that this is clearly a simulation. Do you work with such mega computers?

Clearly, TempestBlayze=GOD. Didn't you know this already.

And a vengeful one at that.

God does not play dice with the universe, but TempestBlayze does.

I've been slacking on my art stuff the past couple weeks, so tonight I decided to buckle down and get some work done modeling that lizard man head I started before. I think it's really coming along pretty well.

now if I remember correctly you can also generate this (or have it generate itself) in geometry wars (1 and 2) :p. at least thats what it looks like when two of the black hole things converge

So I want to keep my currently-playing-fanart thing going, but Alpha Protocol is so bland in the aesthetic department that I can't seem to get inspired. What am I going to do, draw a picture of someone crouching behind a crate? Maybe hanging out in a swanky apartment? Maybe just draw a fight between Sis and Oren Dang?

Or squatting in front of an enemy "invisible" while he looks around in confusion.

Sketch I drew for LadyRockford for her retirement from our Chicagoland DnDnD group, Synergistic Enterprises, LLC. It's of our first campaign, Keep On The Shadowfell, aka Team Building Exercise 2009. I drew each character separately then scanned them and traced them in Illustrator. My hope was to make a really big printout of it, but Kinkos' online printing only goes up to 11" x 17", as far as I can tell. So, I probably could have drawn it altogether.

It's all one big inside joke so I could explain and then you'll think, "Why is that funny?" Because we start several beers in, that's why! I'll at least say who everyone is. From left to right: McChuck aka Adrik - Dwarf Cleric, wordsmythe aka Lucius - Tiefling Warlord, LadyRockford aka Karra - Eldarin Wizard, SirRockford aka Ronin - Tiefling Warlock, TheWanderer aka DM - Evil clawed hand emerging from dark portal, Grenn aka Ged - Dragonborn (female) Fighter.

I was really confused for a second because I was looking at this on facebook and then I flipped screens and it was the same picture and it took me about 3 seconds to realize I did in fact switch...my brain hurts... I need a nap.

I like the animations & clean shifts from scene to scene. The content just confuses the heck outta me though.

Both those are flippin' brilliant bombsfall.

I also like : Man and Cat at the End of the World

In fact, I missed the Pittsburgh S&T because of this today. Sorry guys! Catch you next time! I'll have to continue to be an internet forum phantom until then?

That is Monday July 5th at 1pm at D&B by the Waterfront. If you get this in time.

Thanks, the particular company I work for is known for complexity.

I moved on to restoring an old brick building. All the new structure is heavy timber framing out of fur. All the joints are mortise and tenon.
IMAGE(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4099/4778127461_06df4f7688_b.jpg)
The timbers range from 6" to 1' think so we need a tool like this:

IMAGE(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4137/4778765020_779ff50f1b_b.jpg)
Then I finish the joint with a set of chisels:

Final product looks like this:

I love heavy timber construction. A few more pictures located here.

That's a beautiful deck. Now they just need to work on the house and the lawn. What's with that gray exterior?

stucco, not terrible nice, but its pretty common in new suburb developments. We got in before any of the other back yard trades did. So the lawn, grading, etc is still forth coming.

More likely simulated stucco aka E.I.F.S. The bane of an architects existence. It's effectively jsut hard, textured paint over styrofoam insulation panels.

I was attempting to not cast it in such a negative light :P. but yes it's crap of the hard textured variety.

So I've been working on a crochet project for the past few days with my cousin who is 11. He planned the project, and we went and bought all the materials. It was his first time with crochet and felt. He designed and cut out each felt piece, did most of the crochet work, and stuffed the figure. I started and finished each section, and sewed together the crochet parts and sewed all the felt pieces together.

I'm really happy with the mask.

That is awesome. I ought to see if my mom can recreate that, I'm sure my nephews would LOVE it. We still have some of the little crocheted thingies she made, though none of them are recognizable figures, just Generic Possibly Extraterrestrial Creatures with limbs that look like spiral staircases.

FTFY

Not sure whether I've already posted this, but I made them. They're ACI Sapphire III loudspeakers that I bought in kit form. Basically I got the drivers and cross-overs and other innards and plans to build the enclosures. The enclosures were constructed of 3/4" MDF, rounded over according to plan, then applied maple veneer, stained and finished. This was my first ever veneering job and I'm really proud of how they came out. You can click through for bigger versions, veneering detailing and other construction pics.

The grills are custom-made as well, and are held on by magnets that are embedded in the grill and under the veneer.

Here it is without the grill.

Coldforged those are awesome. How much for some Klipsch drivers in a nice cherry finish?

I'll take 2?

Nice. I'll be building a pair of subs with a buddy sometime in the near future. I'll probably just end up painting it, though.

A Mountain Olive, an invasive tree around here. I dug this one out of the yard. It was growing out of my stone wall and it's been hacked back a number of times. I liked the look of the trunk. Just potted it up today and I'm going to let it grow out a bit before I prune and shape it.
