Haunted House (2600) sequel coming digitally Sept. '10.

Well Haunted House fans, the wait is finally over.

Just under 30 years later, the Atari 2600 classic is finally getting a sequel.

The punch line is that it doesn't look half bad from the screenshots.

I've got fond memories of Haunted House as it was the game I reached for at Toys R Us some 30 years ago when I couldn't find a copy of Pac-Man 2600 during launch week. I guess my parents felt sorry for me that there wasn't a copy to be found so they suggested I pick out another game. I hadn't heard of Haunted House prior but the box art looked cool. Yet walking out of the store with it was cold solace as I had my heart set on Pac-Man for months and months.

Little did I know that a short while later when I did finally get my hands on Pac-Man that Haunted House would be the FAR superior title. While Pac-Man proved to be one of my biggest gaming let downs in history, Haunted House would go on to see regular revisits for months to come.

This will be a sight-unseen purchase for me. The nostalgia factor is simply too great to ignore.

Got to be honest...not feeling it.

Looks like that 'grabbed by the ghoulies' game mixed with gauntlet. (But then, I never played the original, so I probably lack the neccessary nostalga gene in this particular case).

Could be an interesting title.

Boy, talk about a blast from the past. I remember that one, but I sure don't remember much about the plot/objectives...

Not sure how i can download this to my 2600, but I'm game

My cousins had that game -- I remember watching it, but don't think I ever played it myself. (Keystone Kapers is what I usually played when I was over there. I can't believe I remember that.)

My favorite game was Adventure, but I loved Haunted House too. They were very similar. I wonder if we'll see other remakes.

Yes, I'd love to see an Adventure II. Er, well, an Adventure III!
