So for all the Female Doggoing about spawning copies, has nobody noticed the "Play As Guest" button on the login screen? What is that supposed to do?

That's an offline mode feature. You wont get the "battle.net features" but don't have to connect.

But isn't there a separate offline button?

I'm not sure, everything I've searched on for this puts the guest mode with offline mode.

Alright, we need to get some GWJ games going. Any interest?

I've been playing a few 2v2s with Keldar, it's pretty fun. Want to schedule a night to play?

I could be up for playing on Wednesday or Thursday.

please shoot me a message in Steam any afternoon this week if you're up for a game.

Friend me up: QuintinStone.296 (US).

Ugh, Add Friend text boxes don't support paste. IMAGE(http://rps.net/QS/Images/Smilies/rolleyes.gif)

Looking for a 2v2 partner. I rank around 50 in Gold 1v1 to give you an idea of my skill, so if you're roughly on par, let's play.
Also, we should try some 3v3 or even 4v4 GWJ pwnage

What's your character code? (It's the three-digit number for you that people need to be able to add you - it's listed on your "add friends" screen in the top right corner.)

And are you US or EU? Since they're completely disparate realms, unfortunately.

I could play some Wednesday night. Thursday's a no go though. I have a friend in town from San Diego and a Bachelor Party to go to.

I've also managed to forget my identifier number. Oops.

WhiteRa vs DalaiLameR - PvT - Part 1/4

Extremely epic game, highly recommended.

Great example of the mental part of the game too.

So new patch out, Blizzard basically removed alot of the "stealth" changes they accidentally released when they started up Phase 2. Many de-buffs for Terrans. So they reverted those changes in this patch. The first game I win as a Terran? "great f*cking buffs for Terran!"

Yeah, really too bad about the end. Thanks for sharing.

I think WhiteRa's reputation may have won him that game. Seemed like Dalai probably could've taken it.

DalaiLamer is a German player and was really good in Starcraft 1. He was a longtime member of the SC national team. Kinda nice to see the first SC1 legends dabble with SC2. Makes you wonder how much we'll see of the beta heroes in six months time.

He also played very "oldschooly". Not that much cute stuff, but Tank/Helion pushes (only the turrets were missing from "tank-vulture-turret"), non-stop drops, very strong macro, straight up countering. Fun to watch.

Just scheduled an event for tonight at 9pm EST on the GWJ Starcraft Steam group. Hop into the Starcraft Heathens channel on vent to join in on the fun.

Must say that although I was happy to see SC2 run on my integrated graphics laptop, the track pad is far from optimal. Good enough for the Easy AI though.

We had a pretty packed house last night. It was fun playing some 3 v 3. Although it seems when one person is getting attacked it tough for the others to respond. Maybe its simply because we don't play games like that enough.

That's exactly it. Starcraft isn't a game about responding to what the opponents do. It's a game about being proactive. If everyone keeps their army at their base and doesn't move out until an ally is being attack, then you won't get there to help until your ally is dead.

Any X vs X game, where X > 1, the most important part is splitting up your enemies forces not allowing them to ball up. It makes it much easier when your opponents don't even try to stick together.

I've been refreshing my memory by watching YouTube video's recapping the story in Starcraft and Broodwar (Just finished SC). The Cold Fusion FMV is still one of the best FMV's of all time, even if it's a complete rip off of Aliens. I found myself having ridiculous kid-like thoughts while watching though like "What if Fenix fought Raynor one on one? What about Kerrigan Vs. Zeratul? I bet Zeratul would win because..."

Anyway, I've barely seen anything about the SC II campaign and can't believe it's almost here!

I agree completely. Large forces are greater than the sum of their parts, especially if you have complimentary forces. So the trick is to keep your X together, and keep their X apart, as much as possible. The larger X gets, the more true this is. The few instances where it's good to break apart your army generally involve some kind of distraction or harassment, which are a good way to force your enemies to break their army apart. Incidentally they're also generally a good way to destroy their economy and ensure that they don't have an army at all.

I find that harassment works better because it makes the entire party defensive rather than that one party.

Ha, it seems like someone learned from Valve how not to push out a big release. And knowing Blizzard, it also will use the BT protocol to help spread the load.

Wait, so the Digital Download copies won't go on sale as soon as the retail game. Instead is goes on sale 10 hours later? That seems really... bizzare. I would have though it would be several day later or at the same time. Why 10 hours?

I'd say it's more to do with business hours.
