This is true. Unfortunately, every attempt I've made to have it retitled *Legion*'s Emporium of Sports has gone ignored.
Coincidentally, tomorrow at 3pm PST Certis will hold an hour long press conference announcing what the forum will be renamed to.

He will then announce that the forum is moving to The Escapist, as Certis needs to do what is best for Certis' happiness. I look forward to a comic sans-fonted, profanity laced rant from Elysium following shortly afterwards.

Nice knowing you.
Ironically, Joe Johnson appears to the be biggest free agent winner.
I'm speechless.

If by winner you mean the most money. He should have joined Amare in NY for less money.
Nice knowing you.
Is that your way of saying "Hey, that was a very funny continuation of a running joke that two previous posters started"?
I was thinking about this and I'm no Bob Woodward, but something struck me as odd. Why would New York strike a deal with Amare if they didn't think they had a chance at another max free agent. It doesn't make sense. You'd sign Amare only after you had the big fish on board, right?
It also struck me as odd that Amare and Joe Johnson signed so quickly without waiting to see where LeBron went. I mean, wouldn't LeBron have naturally been the first domino to fall? Wouldn't his choice have informed the decision of others so they new whether to hold off on committing to New York or Atlanta in case you have a chance of winning a title in Chicago or New York together?
So it seems to me LeBron had to be the first domino to fall. He had to be. And maybe he was. Maybe this was decided so far back that Amare and Joe Johnson made their decision based on this information. Perhaps Chicago and New York never had a chance. But then why wait? Well, New York wouldn't necessarily throw max money at Amare unless they thought there was hope of a second max free agent.
This leads me to my conspiracy theory. Collusion. LeBron pretended to hear everyone out while Joe Johnson and Amare went out and got theirs. Then the trigger was pulled and we got "The Decision".
In more on topic news (and this is getting delightfully ridiculous now), Dan Gilbert also owns Fathead. There's a sale today.
A special Penguin No-Prize for the person who can first tell me the significance of the price. It is specific and funny (in a ridiculous way).
1741: The year Benedict Arnold was born.

Oh my. I didn't make the connection. Dan Gilbert may be melting down, but man it's funny. Don't get down on Gilbert. He made Comic Sans relevant again.

It's my way of saying don't piss off the Certis:
RE: DSgamer.
I don't think Lebron was the first chip to fall. I think D-Wade and Bosh decided to play together and Lebron was all "Hey guyyyyys, what about meee..."

Ouch. I almost want to buy one for that.
Can you burn those things in effigy like they did with the jerseys? Much cheaper
EDIT: Benjamin Franklin wrote that "Judas sold only one man, Arnold three millions"
So how many people live in Cleveland? Add that to the quote
No, I mean shouldn't LeBron have been the first chip to fall? We didn't have 5 NBA teams dumping salaries, trading starters for second round draft picks so they could sign Amare or Bosh.

Maybe they saw what Dan Gilbert saw in him? Maybe they got sick of not knowing. Better to land Amare then pitch for Wade and James and get nothing. I think he was undecided until Wednesday. Chicago and NY signed their guys in hoped of saying they had a good team for him. Frankly if I were him I'd have gone to the Bulls. Alas, he seems to be playing the game many older MLB vets do, signing where they're guaranteed contention (Yanks). Just read a piece about the Magic GM calling his sense of competitiveness into question, saying the greats usually choose their own path.
These guys were saying right after the 2008 Olympics that they had talked about playing together. I seriously doubt this decision was made Wednesday.
I don't know, nobody but insiders really do. I think if the Heat knew they'd be landing all three they would have traded Beasley in the regular season, before his trade value was only worth salary relief. I don't think Wade or Bosh would have wasted countless hours on planes and in meetings over the past week.
Anyway, I think the one thing we can all agree on at this point is that Comic Sans is a highly underutilized font.
Wade and Bosh share an agent. At best they were on planes and in meetings putting on a show, IMHO. At the very best they were trying to make sure no one got in LeBron's ear and distracting everyone. At worst they were doing recon on the offers out there. It seems impossible to me that the whole process ends in a 1 hour TV special called "The Decision" if some forethought wasn't put into the whole process.
Everything I've heard says that Bosh and Wade never thought about playing anywhere other than Miami.

In other news Mario Chalmers apparently already filed with the league to have his number changed. I wonder if he did that right after he watched "The Decision" or if he perhaps filed that earlier.
Dammit, I meant to DVR 1st and 10 just to watch Skip Bayless (one of LeBron's more vocal critics; he's referred to him as "Prince James" or "LeBrick James" at times) go off on this deal.

I wish I would have saw that myself. I did a search and found this instead.

Skip Bayless is a profit.

I only caught a bit of it this morning but it was damn fine entertainment. Love Skip. He also gives Team Obliterator shots whenever appropriate, and as a lifetime 49ers fan, boy do I enjoy some TO hate.

The Miami Heat went and threw a victory celebration already. No need to play the games.

Maybe that max free agent they are now looking at comes out next year, I've heard rumors the backup plan is going to be Carmelo Anthony, who played college BBall in upstate NY at Syracuse.
BTW, don't kill me if he's a FA in 2012, I'm only slightly sure he's a FA next year. And of course, with that said, that isn't even a gaurentee that the Knicks will get him.
You're right Kush, and I feel like a crappy sports fanatic for not remembering to mention that.
A friend of mine from Cleveland told me he doesn't blame Lebron because no one but someone from Cleveland can describe to you the joy of leaving Cleveland.
