WoW: GWJ Alliance Guild Primer

Feral druid: one active raider, does both tank and DPS in equal amounts.

You talking about Kurind or Lawdog? That could describe either one, I think, so you're missing one of them in your count.

Zero was probably referring to Kurind. I usually only tank for heroics and an occasional 10 man, so I'm another one of those dirty DPSers as far as the 25 mans go.

Yeah, every time I see Lawdog he's a boomkin. Sorry!

Either way though, it's not like we're overrun with ferals (or boomkins, for that matter).

Nevermind.

Hey guys, I have been on Dalaran since day 1, and with the same guild/group of people as well, but I'm getting increasingly frustrated with their achievement chasing and politics. Here is my armory, http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Dalaran&n=Rint since im considering a change. Is the info on the front page still accurate as far as raiding goes? Are you actively looking for anyone? Just trying to get a feel for my options, thanks.

(i also have an 80 dk, rogue, and my gf has an elemental shaman)

Not looking for any classes in specific. Just easy going people who play well with others.

Are the raiding days, at all that still accurate? I'm mostly just looking for a consistent 10 or 25 man, a couple nights a week with no drama or achievement whoring

Recently we've been doing one 25 man night a week (on either Tuesday or Sunday) and twoish scheduled 10 man runs a week, one on whichever night the 25 man doesn't happen and the other on Wednesday or Thursday. Also, fairly regularly pickup 10 mans seem to happen on Fridays or Saturdays for older content.

The scheduled 10 mans are typically one run focused on newer content/heroics for more well geared toons and one run on slightly easier content for more casual players and alts. There are no set raiding teams or anything, though -- if you look at our scheduling threads, you'll see that each week we just post our availability and our awesome raid leaders put together a workable set of runs based on who is available when.

(Edit: Of course, as ICC opens up it's quite likely that the shape of things might change a bit here -- this pattern sort of developed as a result of the nature of ToC.)

I hope this is the correct place for this post, but I would like to officially change Mogens to be listed as my main, and have Lawdôg demoted. Please delete any EP/GP I may have on Lawdôg and zero-base Mogens as any new character would have. I should have him ready for ICC10 for mDPS and/or OT by next week. Wow-heroes shows him to be ready to start in his current gear for both sets, but I will get a couple more upgrades in the next couple of days to make sure he's ready.

1. This is the wrong thread.

2. The points don't change like that.

3. You can PM me or contact me in game with questions.

You might get a better response posting a new topic as few check in here.

Edit: Posted new topic.
Thanks Richy.

I decided to take the 7 days of free time I had and reactivated my WoW Account for that time to dabble a bit and see if I feel that WoW would be a good play to go back to. With 7 days of free time, I would be crazy not to make use of it to at the very least check out the Argent Tournament that I never had a chance to see. I hope to know by next week if I do fully want to come back to WoW or not.

I am woefully undergeared for many of the new things that came out becausue I still only haev 10 man Naxx gear with a few 25 man items in my off spec Prot set. I discovered as well that the troublemakers in my old guild have left so it is a much smaller, more relaxed and fun guild like I remember from back in Vanilla WoW when I first joined that guild and the game. I am thinking I will make a warlock on the GWJ server and leave my paladin with my old guild if they have me back so I can split my time with 2 great groups of people if I decide to fully come back to WoW. The people remaining are good, but unsure how much grouping they do so odds are I may trasfer my pally to Blackhand anyways. I discovered that they do almost no raiding as it is hard to get enough people, which made me sad as the remaining ppl were the most fun out of the bunch to do 10 mans with especially.

I contacted Deezyre in-game and he suggested I post on the forum about joining the GWJ Alliance. This seemed like the appropriate place.

I'm Kneedzasctoo on Blackhand.

I really apologizw for Belmirus not being there guys. WoW burn out. Actually, MMO burnout altogether...been hitting the really deep stratgey/wargames lately to shake things up.

I will be returning for Cat though....so I'll see you all then.

Is the GWJ guild predominately raid focused, or is there a significant number of casuals playing alts and doing 5 man content?

I've been toying with reactivating my account again. I won't have much to do with my main until Cataclysm releases, so I've thought about the potential of rolling a new character on Blackhand if there were friendly goodjers to play with. I'm definitely looking to avoid drama queens and folks that have their gearscore tattooed on their wang IRL.

We don't tattoo our gearscores! Think of the editing nightmare!

We have plenty of people playing with alts and running heroics. There's not as many all-guild heroic groups going these days since the introduction of the new Looking-For-Group tool.

There's a thread where a handful of people are doing lower level instances on Monday nights that you might want to check out.

That being said, there's not a ton of people online every night. Each night there's probably an average of between 2 and 20 people online from 4 server until passed midnight - predominately level 80s.

There is of course raiding going on - usually 2 groups of 10 for 2-3hrs two nights a week.

I thought I saw a GWJ Alliance player pass by my in Azure Watch. I started thinking... is that a GWJ guild? Either way, I'm a total noob, so I don't know if you'd want me in the guild or not.

Hello All,

My toon is on Sen'Jin server right now...80 ret pally, GS 5840, ICC 10 6/12, ICC 25 4/12.

Question: Where are you in terms of ICC as a guild and do you have room for a Ret Pally? I am interested in ICC progression and being part of a solid team that wants to succeed and grow.

My current guild is very skilled with talented active players, but we can't seem to get past 4/12 because ppl don't show up for raids or need go to bed after first wing. So I am becoming rather frustrated. My last three guilds all broke up due to drama...LOL.

thanks!

Of course! Noob is our middle name!

We're 11/12 in ICC10 and generally speaking, that's all we run - most of the time we stop at 9 or 10 of 12 due to time constraints. Some weeks we field a mixed GWJ/PuG 25 man ICC but it usually fizzles out after killing DBS.

Hey hey for those wondering about joining GWJ what's it like etc I have one man's opinion.

Really friendly and relaxed plenty of non max characters on at different times.

Absolutely, I'm only level 36, and I joined at level 15 or something insanely low. The crew is friendly and funny.

At what point do we get to move beyond Fairy Princess? And does it help if I have an authenticator?

Usually FP is a month's probation.

Authenticators are strongly recommended, though not required (unless you are an officer).

Been a FP for about 3 months now. It's not critical or anything, but would have been nice to grab a glyph from the bank rather than spend gold on it, that kind of thing.

Just look for an officer next time yer online and give us a nudge!

Hey all,

Going to resub to WoW tonight and start the swing to Cataclysm. Can't wait to raid with you guys again.

Hey folks,

So, I'm pretty new to WoW though I've played a few other MMO's in the past. Been playing as an Undead Mage on the kil'jaeden server for a little over a month on and off. I have family over there that play so that'll probably be my main. But our schedules don't always match so I'm interesting in knowing if I could join the GWJ guild as well. I have a draenei hunter, Rexneron, on Blackhand. Looking for some casual fun and help leveling up so i could get caught up. Thanks!

Goodjers are always welcome. Do a who gwj alliance and send someone a tell. Grindars/grinderz/grinds (that's me) can send you an invite. Looking forward to seeing you.

I have been sucked back in. Started a sexy blue alien lady. I am not exactly a noobie either, I before I left WoW for awhile I helped get Evil Avatar's guild on its feet. I will chat up a guildie some time.

Good news is I am not the biggest fan of crafting, but I am very good at mining and picking flowers for my cash and for others.

Hopefully we can get some questing PUGS together. I am 10 right now. My plan is that the Shaman will be specced for DPS/Burst for PVP, and healing for Raids and Arena. I am really hoping to get a decent arena team together for 2 and 3 persons.

Also, I am really hoping I can get to 40 in time for Brewfest. I am hoping for a Brewfest Ram epic. And, it's cool if WoW is mostly instant messenger with cartoons, right?
