Transformers: War For Cybertron Catch-All

Would love a discount during the summer sale. Fingers crossed.

I would too, but I really doubt it. Even 10% would be enough for me.

Beat it. Stays fun all the way through. If I have any complaints it would be that the game is very one note. It's a fun note, but it doesn't really do a good job of mixing things up. It's pretty much enter room, room locks, waves of enemies come in, you fight, hit switch then repeat. The combat is really fun though so it's not that big of a deal.

Also the credits were awesome.

Finished the Decepticon campaign...not bad but it's very bland in the visuals department. Metal Grey is the new brown it seems. and some of the texture work on the 360 version is atrocious (especially on the character models - Megatron seems shockingly low-res).

Also, personally I think they got a little too caught up in making everything 'grim and gritty'. A little Tron-style neon would have gone a long way

Enjoying it so far otherwise though.

Do *not* buy this for the PC if you use any control scheme that isn't WASD. You can't remap controls. At all.

Apparently, I'm going to have to call the publisher for every game I want to buy and ask them if they've included basic functionality. Crappy ports are the new black.

Can you use an xbox controller with the PC version?

Yes you can however, the button pop-ups during the tutorial are the keyboard controls. It didn't take me too long to figure out what the controls were.

The PC version of the game is obviously a console port. The game's a little too easy on the standard difficulty (if you tweak the settings), the default mouse look is a little too smooth and sluggish, and there is no way to customize the controls.

It's still a fun game, but don't go into it expecting modern PC standards.

I found that Chapter IV of the Decepticon campaign mixed things up a little more, especially when you have...

Spoiler:

...Omega Supreme at your heels and you're running for your dear robotic life. That was kind of different and neat.

It's mildly annoying, but the default controls aren't terrible. I would like to move the transform and the melee attack to my mouse (melee moved to something that's not hard to pressed).

Bought and finished this weekend.

Yes, it is the Transformers game I've always wanted with a few thoughts:
Bad:
- it's a console port
- it's a console port from Activision (they even thank Bobby Kotick in the credits!)
- I think a better ending would have been

Spoiler:

Having you take control of Omega Supreme and fight Trypticon

- the campaigns feel very samey

Good:
- Transformers! Faithful to the original series!
- Price was right
- Best credits ever
- The multiplayer is a lot of fun, though I'm not sure how long I'll want to do it.

I've been going through single player no co-op on Hard (on Xbox 360 mind you), and it is actually a bit more fun. A.I. is still dumb as a post, but it's niced to be forced into being careful and actually using cover, and it makes the constant moving around of the enemies tricky.

If you're an experienced gamer than Hard Mode may be the preferential way to play.

I also tried the two Escalation maps. That sh*t is impossible single player.

Traded in some old games and picked this up for the 360 yesterday. I anticipate super funtime co-op.

I'd be up for that as well.

Well, my gamertag is Grohdinger if anyone is interested in some Escalation.

Is there a list of GWJers with T:WFC around, or a steam community group?

I proposed the Goodjer Google Spreadsheet (lasts columns on the right).

Dear Goodjer Hivemind:
Does this game support local and online co-op play-through at the same time? Like, if I had 2 people at my PS3, and a friend who wanted to join in. Is there even the ability to play 3 players at once?

Must resist!

There is no local coop at all, no splitscreen or otherwise, online only.

Yeah, I'm getting sick at the lack of split screen support this generation. I don't get to use that stuff often myself, but I have fond memories of doing so. All these kids don't know the joys of gaming in the same room together because they're too busy fragging each other in Modern Warfare rather than the good wholesome fun of Nintendo.

f*cking kids.

I played a co-op level on Friday night with 2 friends, and your anticipation is highly warranted.

Seriously? That's crap! My wife wanted to play this with me. Totally disappointed. Thanks for the info guys!

I was sad about this also... Kind of moved the game down on my list now...

Anyone with this on the 360 interested in getting together this weekend for some of the multiplayer? They are having a Double XP weekend.

Anyone know if there is a way to choose an autobot model for Deathmatch? It seems like it's always Decepticons.

I haven't done regular Deathmatch, just Team Deathmatch.

I might be busy this weekend and I'm not big into competitive multiplayer, but as I said, my gamertag is Grohdinger. I tend to use Skype for communicating with friends, chris.cesarano

I want to hurt whoever decided that pushing the left thumb stick was a great way to transform, especially when they decided not to let you use the alternate mapping on the PC version. Really super. Big thumbs up there, fella.

Despite that, I'm having a ridiculous amount of fun with the campaign.

Game of the year for me. Personal favorite, at least. I grinned from ear to ear. So much fan service.

Agreed. My favourite fan service moment was

Spoiler:

Fighting Soundwave and his little cassette minions.

Definitely a sleeper hit for me.

I agree that that was awesome. For me it was often the little touches like this.

Spoiler:

Warpath showing up doing the "blam!" "blow!" stuff like he did in the cartoon. Or Soundwave's voice. Or addressing Jetfire's backstory. Awesome.

So many quotes from the original movie!

Anybody want to play co-op at 6am central? I'm usually on.

Curious, how can any AAA game based off a Hollywood movie be called a "sleeper" hit? Every parent who walks into Walmart has probably bought this game for their kids, not to mention... half of GWJ....

PS. I want
