Welcome to Gamers With Jobs Radio, the video gaming podcast for people who hate podcasts. This week we interview Bethesda about their upcoming (recently delayed) RPG, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, review Civ 4 multiplayer and discuss the pending merger of two of the hottest video game developers around, Bioware and Pandemic. Plus a whole lot more. Put on your headphones and turn out the lights. It only feels dirty for a minute.

Cool discussions on the rest of the stuff, though I'm one of the four people on the planet who seems to not be excited about Oblivion.

Cool that you guys got yourselves an interview though

Whoaaa. Our boys score a scoop!! This is quite awesome.

Wow a real interview. Now you can't let us down in future episodes by not having one. Great job again guys. Keep the news coming.

Interesting, although short as it was, the interview with Bethesda was excellent. Other than that, you guys sounded as if you just woken up in the middle of the night to do the show. None the less it was pretty good.

That was probably the most interesting interview I'd heard or read in a very long time. Great questions, and none of that fluffy "What's you're favorite game, you're so dreamy!" crap.

Well, according to the Farmer's Almanach, it is indeed already well into hibernation period for Certist up in his Great White North region.

Great invterview, you really raised the bar for GWJ Radio. Cheers!

Very nice work.

Interesting observation, Fletcher actually improved the recording quality a great deal this week and I think it was one of the earliest shows we've done in a while. Veeery interesting.

It is always night here in the winter, why has thou forsaken me Mr.Sun?!

Heads up, folks. Blue's and the Shack have posted links, so expect traffic.

And Certis, before you start saying I'm out of my mind (not saying that you're wrong), get the quote semi-correct:

I, with bolds for emphasis and bracketed corrections, wrote:

Edit: Let me amend that so it doesn't sound like I'm drowning in haterade. Someone, presumably the publisher, ordered the game out as is. As it sits, there are features that haven't been implemented and bugs aplenty, but fortunately Egosoft is trying to fix it all (next patch due in mid-November). That said, if you know you're getting a partially completed game that [is] like Morrowind in that [expansive] vein, it may be worth the look if you want to save the F.E.A.R.s and Civ IVs for another day, and at 40 bucks a shot, it may be worth getting just to explore and tool around in for awhile. Maybe.

"Diamond in the rough" was a term I heard thrown around in describing it. But, that said, if you buy it, expect what you're going to get: 70% of a game that at the moment would rank (oddly enough) 70% on a GameSpot scorecard or 3.5 stars.

Thanks alot for wrecking my diet with all the food references, you bastards!
J/K

Seriously though, another great show, and the Bethesda interview was a really nice touch. Well done fellas. Any chance we can expect more of those in the future?

Now if you will excuse me, I'm off to the cafeteria to get some doughnuts.

That's the plan! Maybe not quite EVERY show but it's something we're going to keep pushing for.

Good job. The interview was well worth the listen. Great to hear well thought out questions durring the interview.

There's always the option of doing Employee Profiles by radio as well. That could be...interesting? I'll go with 'interesting.'

I am looking forward for more high-profile devs being shaken down for exclusive interviews!!

(although getting people to sit down with Fletch (even virtually) after his ball-shaving manifestos may be an issue)

I didn't have any intentions to ever listen to the podcast, but I'm glad I did cause I really enjoyed it. Xplay better watch out if you ever start doing a tv show. Anyway the reason I decided to listen was cause my g/f gave me a chore to do. She wanted me to weed eat her weeds but instead I decided to buy round up and kill it all! So I was going to be outside for a while and my ipod was empty. Figured what the heck how bad can it be, and to my surprise it wasn't.

I see some very potent Out-of-Context Theater material here.

This episode of GWJ Radio was like a warm, flaky, sweet and crunchy baklava.

Good stuff on the podcast. The music still suddenly booms over my car speakers but the output level between Certis and Fletch seems to be even.

Good stuff. Can you guys get John Romero in for some "tough" questions?

That's going right to the top of the "Idea Board"

Oddly enough, Fletch's voice dropped off considerably during the interview. Maybe he's just quieter when he's being polite.

Nice job on sneaking that Fallout 3 question in, but it would have been nice if you ask him what kind of copy protection they were going to use and if it'll hate half the people who buy it. But all in all good stuff, keep it comin.

Well done! The pastry theme was Kojima-licious.

I played the podcast 3 times it was so good.I didn't want to miss anything said.I also Donated because you guys did such a great job.Keep up the good work! You guys rock!

While I agree with your post..

Don't get me wrong here.. really don't. Your avatar pic, while awesome, could potentially raise some eyebrows at people's workplaces, given the name of the site and all.

I'm sorry, did you say something. My eyes keep wandering to the left.

Braehole, no offense, but I think your avatar's rather off-putting. If I wanted to look at scantily-clad women, there are other places I could go besides a gaming forum. Women do frequent this site too, you know. I wouldn't put a picture of a hot guy in ill-fitting boxers as my avatar, because it would make alot of people here feel uncomfortable, you know? Although now that I think about it, perhaps it is time for a Zapp Brannigan avatar

But you're totally right about the radio show being great. It was. I especially liked the dessert metaphors. Made me desperate for a macaroon.

It's not much worse than some of cartoonin's avatars, it's just not drawn. But yeah, NSFW.
