Guild Wars Revival

I've started up a new character on Nightfall, Dolfus Valdrast

Says you're in a guild.

So I finally unlocked the Monk hero, and he spends about 90% of every fight getting chased around in circles by all the mobs he aggroed by tossing a heal right at the start of the fight. He manages to get off the occasional heal while he runs around so he's still pretty effective, but it's turned all of my fights into ridiculous Benny Hill-style chases.

Can you outfit your heroes? I craft them better weapons, but armor is always based on my class, not thiers.

You can put runes on their armor, other than that it's just cosmetic upgrades.

WTF, I thought this was on sale for a week.

Just went to buy it, and it's back to $40.

Nightfall is cheap on D2D

Guild Wars interest restarting? Ok, I will jump back in too. Filthy enablers, the lot of you.

Massively is moving their weekly community gaming event into Guild Wars for the next few weeks, starting tomorrow night. I've participated in some of their past events in other games and it's usually pretty fun, though they aren't very compatible with my current gaming schedule so I don't know if I'll be able to attend any this time. Just in case any of you are interested...

So what happened to the people downloading the game and starting up characters?

It's gotten quiet around here.

Can i please get an invite to the guild, player name is (Nekroman Gwj).

I have been playing off and on. It would be great to play with you all. Can I get a guild invite too? Character name: Bigby Wolfslayer

Nekroman - you are already in a guild. (Can't send you an invite unless/until you drop.)

Got it, TY Is everyone here using the SBD TS server or the GWJ one?

I'd suggest using the GWJ one.

Thanks, I didn't see a GW section on the Vent server. Ill check again.

Ok, i quit the guild i was in. hook me up!
Nekroman Gwj

Gabe Kimeu. Im not on alot right now, but I will be during the summer

Invites out to here.

Hey, I'm interested in playing and joining someones guild. My main character is Rena of the Clouds, lvl 20 Elemental. I have a few other characters floating around.

EdemaKNN, you're invited.

Could use a guild invite myself, ID is "Johnvanjim".

Is the general consensus that I shoudl start my first play through with the Nightfall campaign then? Sounded like there were some mixed opinions. Are there any particular classes that should be avoided at all costs?

Most regular players would swear by Nightfall, the heroes make the early game pretty easy. Prophecies is a lot slower and you need to use henchmen if you are not playing with people and they aren't as good as the heroes. It has its own charm though.

Most people will tell you to stay away from Factions, at least for your first try. It kind of throws you in the deep end and many enemies have the nasty habit of exploding. Not nice for melee characters.

As for the classes, they are all fun, all soloable and have their strengths and weaknesses. Try a few out and see what gels.

And I'm dropping you an invite right now.

*edit*

'A character of that name cannot be found'

Just give a name once you have a character. :p Or drop me a line in game. Zul Aronos.

A lot of people suggest Nightfall for your first play through. And while I can understand it, I think Prophecies is a much better campaign. Note: I haven't beaten either, but just played through the first about 13 levels of each. I just find that Prophecies does a much better job of putting you into the Guild Wars story as well as has much better world environments.

I actually think that Prophecies does a better job introducing game concepts, while Nightfall is a bit easier because of heroes.

Nightfall has also much faster leveling than Prophecies. Because Prophecies takes it slow, you are less likely to feel overwhelmed.

Moral of the story,

Try both and see what you enjoy more.

Yeah, but don't play Factions right away! Stupid exploding corpses.

I'd like an invite Kalis Devion and crew.

just finished a good 3 hour session, alone.... Sign on!

Nekroman, logged on at 7.30 an local time and missed you by 14 minutes.

Andon you're invited.

Tkyl is loving Prophecies so much I decided to go back to my Level 3 Mesmer in Pre-Searing. Had her sitting there for 3 years.

Prophecies is still really nice, it's slower and relaxing so a pleasant change of pace. And Ascalon is pretty as hell.
