Guild Wars Revival

It's been a while since I've played GW. I believe last time was some dungeon run with Lobster, DevilStick and a couple other guys from SBD. Fun game, tons of polished content and the mechanics in the game are different from everything else out there. I hope they don't change things way too much for GW2 and make it more "WoW-like".

I'll see if I can roll with you guys too. I plan on re-activating my AoC account tonight and I still play BC2 every other night, so I'm not sure for how long I will be playing. I've got a Dervish that completed all campaigns (but EotN!) and a Ritualist which completed a couple of them. I could also roll a new char to roll with you guys, or grab one of the several other lowbies I have.

Do you plan on using any specific Vent server for this or the regular GWJ one?

I am in an active guild, but would be happy to play. My main is DrunkenSleipnir, although I have a 20 of each class.

News of GW2 has sparked my interest in this again.

I think I'll install the disks again this weekend.

My main toon was a Mo Liu Wen.
I've got a W and R too that I liked to run.

Plus I never completed all the expansions. I need to do that before GW2 drops, Ya know in like 5 years.

I'll add my name in to the ring. My main is Thomas De Quincey. Not sure how much time I'll get on here, but if I do, look me up.

Question: is there any way to speed up mouse look without boosting my mouse sensitivity? Right click + drag is painfully slow, but if I bump up my sensitivity the mouse moves way too fast the rest of the time.

I play regularly, although often outside US prime time, since I'm in New Zealand. My main is Torment Silverclaw; I'm already in an active guild, but feel free to call me if you're looking to fill out a party

I think it's going to be sooner than people expect.

The War in Kryta event is the build up to the events of GW2 and I doubt they will try milk it for years. Unless they have a succession of events planned, and that's just as cool.

Great you guys convinced me to buy the trilogy on steam when I already own the original and factions :). Nightfall here I come!

I am downloading it as well, need me some fantasy to wash the yuk of STO out of my mouth. Once I have a toon I will post it so an invite. Any class recommendations for a noob?

Classes are all pretty noob friendly and well balanced. Mesmer is probably the hardest, but not by much and is fun to play. Monks are always the popular kids when forming parties.

Just remember, start in Nightfall. The new player experience is very accessible. Try out the other campaigns as well though, they are pretty and interesting. Prophecies is a little slow and Factions is quite difficult.

Has anyone seen the War in Kryta events? I went looking earlier and couldn't find anything.

Haven't got there yet. Just had a look at the Wiki, it seems that you need to complete either Prophecies or Eye of the North to access the new content.

I logged on and dropped my old guild this morning. If you can send me an invite to join the GWJ crew now it would be much appreciated.

I'd been planning on following the Kurzik storyline through Factions, does anyone know if that actually causes a problem if you're in a Luxon guild or is it only a factor when you're doing the PvP battles?

My toon is named Cobble Stoned. Send me an invite por favor.

Whats the difference in the 3 scenarios? Do toons not jump between them? I started as a ranger on nightfall.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't make any real difference, you can collect both sets of faction, it just comes down to which side you play on in Alliance Battles.

You can go to the port in Kamadan, after the Consulate Docks mission, and go to either Kaineng (Factions) or Lion's Arch (Prophecies) Just play around and collect a few Heroes first. Factions is nice for once you have a feel for the game and you want to go do some leveling.

All right, I'm in as Hewn Ovine

downloading now...

Alright, I'm in. Downloading as we speak.

Nice to see some interest here,

Spent a few hours this weekend, forgot how fun the game is in a relaxed kind of way. It's cool to have a guild again, even if I've only spoken to one person, KillTrash, as yet, thanks to time zones. And Tkyl pops on and off and doesn't watch guild chat. :p

I really like how pretty the game still manages to be without resorting to tons of shaders and other cutting edge rubbish. It's all about good art style. And I can run it at max setting with AA on my old system.

Could I get an invite to the guild? My main is Roval Renji.

lol was talking to Wired while he fired it up for the first time and listening to him reminded me why i left the game and have no desire to fire it back up.

Why is that? Just out of curiosity?

Ok, sent out invites to everyone up to this point.

I'll be trying to start getting on more frequently.

The mechanics for starters from class structure all the way down to movement. Granted the story line missions are fun with a full party and i guess thats what you guys are going to be doing here, but that was the extent of my fun back when it was released.

Ah ok.

I've noticed you're a big MMO guy so I was curious. I've noticed that generally the things MMO fans dislike about Guildwars are the exact things I like.

I find the classes elegant, others find them simple. I like the movement, others complain about the lack of jumping. MMO fans complain about the instancing, I enjoy not having random people ask if I want to grind a spawn point while I'm questing. And the 'open the map anywhere you like and quick travel' feature is fantastic.

I'm actually a bit apprehensive about GW2, it sounds like they may have thrown the baby out with the bathwater in a few cases, but I'm still getting it.

Well I've bought and I'm downloading this. I'll provide some character info once I'm in.

I've been playing lately myself. Fantastic.

If you *haven't* already bought the Eye of the North expansion, I can't recommend it enough. As great as Nightfall is, EoTN is the ultimate Guild Wars experience. Truly fantastic dungeons, quests, etc. Really really like it.

My current main is a Dervish named Lysippe Bladedancer.

Just bought it and downloaded it as well. Seems pretty good so far.

My name in game is Smokes alots.

Sorry about the MrDevil. Whenever I see chat pop up, it's just random players selling stuff, so I've begun to not even pay attention. I need to set it to just show guild chat.

I played guild wars a lot for 3 years after when it came out. I was heavy into the PvP scene but eventually that died down and played mostly PvE with a guild doing dungeons and missions. My interest eventually waned and I havent played GW1 for at least 2 years. All of the new info on Guild Wars 2 has perked my interest again and coaxed me to log back on.

I'd like an invite to the guild; my character name is "I Minty I" w/o quotes.
