Mount&Blade Warband Catch-all

From now on I only use blunt weapons!
Hm.... that means I have to get rid of my trusty morningstar. Maybe I can just put rubber stoppers over the spikes or something. For now I'll just keep bashing them with my warspear.

I would think that the morningstar is a blunt weapon. Does it not count as a mace? I thought some cavalry will pull it out when you tell them to use blunt only.

A morningstar is covered with spikes, so it does piercing damage.

But it looks so badass!

I just want to use a flail to, ah, flail people.

I just want to use it to separate my grains from their husks...

So now that things are cool with the Saranids, my feifs are able to grow and prosper, and they are doing so pretty quickly. It also lets my lower my garrison in my town to lower my weekly wages so I'm pulling in about 5-6k a week and growing.

Anyone know how to reduce the taxes lost from inefficiency thing? Is it fief relation or prosperity or is it just based on number of fiefs and impossible to affect?

I'm mopping up the Nords pretty easy though it's not quite the same story for the rest of the lords. They aren't doing bad but they need a hand in most battles and never win if they don't have at least 25 or so more troops, depending. My fights with the nords are going awesome, sharpshooters just mess them up so hard. The only problem is (and I think this is why the AI lords aren't doing as well) is that ranged units don't seem to want to fire if any ally is anywhere in front of them, regardless of if they are above or below them. So I have to tighten up my infantry and have them move in front of the advancing Nords as my xbows maneuver around the side and open fire while their backs/sides are exposed.

Sieges are pretty tough but, again, sharpshooters make things much easier, Nord archers can occasionally get a nice shot off and get a lucky kill but other than that they are useless and pretty much go down in one shot at any point in their body. The real issue is the warriors and their damn javalins and throwing axes. They're pretty accurate with those things and they do a lot of damage. Usually I can get lucky though and they'll just whip them at my shieldwall.

Lesbian Marriage

Man she's hot too, well, as far as somewhat blocky, angular Mount and Blade models go.

Well, something interesting just happened! I've just got my second castle, Sungetche Castle, and awarded it to my faithful companion Ymira, making her Lady Ymira, which I thought was immensely cool. However, I later ran across her patrolling the castle, and I wanted to speak to her about awarding her the village that came with Sungetche Castle as well, since no one currently owned it, however I saw the question about "Cementing an Alliance with Her House" and curiosity go the better of me.

Ymira: "Are you suggesting we wed?"

Me: "Uh... sure, why not?"

Ymira: "Excellent, lets make the arrangements!"

Now the truly interesting thing about this is my character is female. Mass Effect eat your heart out! So the happy day will be soon, I just need to hold a big feast and then apparently we tie the knot. I suspect this might be a bug in the game considering how traditional Calradia tends to be, but damnit if I'm not going to see just how far I can make this go.

Edit: Haha, definitely a bug, Ymira is my "Husband" apparently.

It's too bad you can't have heirs in this game. That would be confusing.

"Have you been cheating on me?"

"No! How could you possibly ask that!"

Bah, the Vaegirs just overran the Castle, the wife will never let me hear the end of this...

Seriously, everytime I post on here, the faction I'm at war with makes peace with everyone else, invades, and I lose a castle. I have to stop!

Maybe it's not a bug.

I was expecting to wear the pants in this relationship, but Ymira is full of surprises it seems!

Get out! It's a trap!

You can marry your companions!?! Now to find a save before I married Lady Random-Face and start working on Matheld.

I think it'll only work if your character is female. The game probably treats all vassals as males by default in terms of relating with your character.

Oh well, my relation with Lady Random-Face is still high and now I have my own (tiny) kingdom!

I refuse to believe that Matheld is a chick.

There seems to be a bug in 1.112 where retreating horsemen cause a crash to desktop.

And 'invalid entity' message spam.

Its not just retreating horsemen, but any routing enemy. Or so my experience with Sea Raiders suggests.

Version 1.113 for M&B Warband has been released. You can download the upgrade patch on our download page. The changelog is:

* Fixed a bug that caused crashes when fading out characters take damage.
* Reduced the probability of AI characters chasing after retreating enemies when someone else is already doing so.
* Sound initialization is updated.
* Some other bug-fixes.

Hopefully this fixes it.

New Morningstar model as well. Actually fits it's length now.

Why in the heck to the classify Mercenary Swordsman as cavalry? They don't have horses, am I missing something?

I'm finally getting a bit better and can actually kill some folks while still on my horse (the timing of your swing is earlier than I expected). I also had my horse killed from under me which was freaky, but now I've upgraded to a better horse anyway.

I've joined the war on the side of the Swadians and it tells me to be alert for orders. Do I need to check in at the various castles to see if there are orders or do I somehow get messages on where I'm needed (perhaps by courier or maybe pigeon mail)?

You will get a message letting you know when the marshal requires your service. If your not at war, I don't think your service will be requested. Tip: You can stop and talk to other lords and ask them to tell you where somebody is currently located. Simple but in my first game I got frustrated because I couldn't find somebody I needed to locate for a quest.

Now I'm rolling along. I think I need a faster horse though. It's painful chasing bandits and whatnot across half of the map before I catch 'em. Money is pouring in though. Clearing out those lairs is like a gold mine of equipment and tradable goods, plus the reward for doing so.

I'm now sporting some nice metal armor and a huge sword. I have 4 companions (the warrior kind; still no ladies for me).

Despite my good looks and awesome accomplishments, I still haven't been rewarded with any spoils from the war (yet).

The game has definitely turned the corner and is well into the -fun- stage.
