WoW BHA Monday Night Crew - Ruby Sanctum Tonight 12/6! Farewell to WotLK

Hi all,

I've really been thinking about coming back to WOW but have been holding off because I hate playing alone or in idiot PUG groups. Is there room for one more player? I might not be available until about 8 pm PST (9 pm CST?) but if you need an extra player for the second or third run of the night, I'm your man.

And if so, which of the following do you think I should play?

1. Druid - played one a while ago and had fun but got tired of always staring at the same cat/bear form. I understand that your form is now customizable.

2. Paladin - looks like a fun class but from my understanding it's the most popular class in the game currently.

I say go for it. If anything you can sub, I have no problem subbing out for people. Also, I think a friend of mine is going to roll with us and Sub when we need it. Not sure what class he is going to roll yet though. I will keep you guys updated.

As I mentioned in a previous thread, might work to run a Thursday "make-up" day to pick up the stragglers and some of the others that have expressed interest.

I should be online tonight if anyone wants to get together. I was going to try to make a dent in my Redridge Mtns area quests.

Just a FYI my friend is making a Boomkin druid... He named her Hornychicken (get it?) he cracked himself up with that one. He is going to try and catch up but it might take an extra week.

If you get enough you can always make 2 groups....

Or have a wider level spread. I got my shaman to 20, but decided I ought to do the water totem quest before I stopped for the week. By the time the quest was done I had hit 21, and I've been having a hard time refraining from playing since then.

I still have my 18 hunter I want to play more, as well as a mage who is around 20, just send me a tell on Stormspain if you need me;)

So who's in for tonight?

If you need my hunter, just let me know;) I also have a warrior that is level 20 and a rogue that is around 25.

I slacked and haven't really played my priest at all. I can try, but I don't see that I'll be able to get 20 by tonight.

It shouldn't be a problem for your 18 Priest. We aren't ramping up the difficulty too much this week. Are you in or out?

We'll probably take your hunter again this week, unless Grenn miraculously appears with his hunter leveled proper.

I am in... I am in same boat as Zero.. I did the water totem quest (I figured I should) and hit 21 from it. I do not think my friend will be in tonight, he is only 13 on his druid. I think he will need another week to catch up.

Whoever is in we can just queue...as long as we have a tank and healer, I am sure it will be fairly instant.

I'll be logging in around 7 or so and would love to help with some questing and/or a dungeon, but at 8 I'll need to switch over to my hunter for a raid follow-up.

I decided to let you guys catch my paladin. I wasn't really enjoying the rogue, and im going on vacation for over a week starting Friday.

So count me out.

Noone was on so just played my main.

We searched for you @Storm and at [KMD] We could've used you.

I was on from about 7pm till about 10pm. I did get disconnected at one point and it took me about 5 minutes to reconnect, but even played Thundersfury(hunter) for a bit before 10.

edit 1:What's the goal level wise for next week? I will try to get high enough so I am level equivalent. Also, to make sure I am on, ontime, what time is meeting time?

edit 2: I did send a mesage to Lawkjaw at one point after completing daily random with Stormy, but no response.

I'm new to this whole tanking business, and my UI is something of a disaster ATM, so it is likely I missed it. Sorry. We'll be in Vent every week though.

So it looks like Lawkjaw and Openminded hit 24 last night, Harmertime is still 17, Thundersfury is 19, and my shaman is 22 (and a half, if I recall correctly). Should we try to meet at 24, or did you guys want to push on and try to catch up with some Slytin and LiquidMantis' other characters?

I say we shoot for 24-26. Team Slytin/LiquidMantis level way too fast for a weekly group. Those guys are machines!

Busy week so I'm still 9ish. I'll get it up there by Monday. Up there being 24-26 by next monday. I'm raid scheduled for Sunday so my usual Tuesday/Thursday WoW nights are suddenly free to level an alt.

Yeah, I think catching our mains is unlikely, but I'd definitely bring my level 44 druid over from Cenarion Circle when you guys get close to him.

Instance groups have been great for XP. In fact we have to be careful not to outlevel our quests. Three or four instance runs is easily a level and if you've got a good group you can tear through our current level dungeons. Slytin can get some massive pulls as a tank if we have a decent healer and if we have a halfway decent mage to help our DPS we can scream through them. Right now Slytin as pseudo-tank (ret pally) and me as ranged DPS (SV hunter) make up 70-75% of the damage in our dungeon PUGs.

I can always switch to another dps class to catch up, I have a rogue named Milora who is 25.

If Grenn is back in with his hunter then you should run your rogue. Two hunters would be pretty difficult for me to try and hold aggro with.
I'm not sure how it is in endgame, but having done a small amount of tanking and having a higher level hunter I've noticed that they draw aggro like nobody's business.

How does next Tuesday sound? Here is the new crew:
Lawkjaw (me): Tank
Zeroanne: Heal
Cheeto: All around ass kicking/DPS/Heal if needed
Grenn: rDPS
Rainsmercy: DPS or rDps
?PopEsc: DPS- Unknown availability?

Well after 30 you have Feign Death, so once you get a feel for how you should time its use aggro becomes much less of a concern. And after 70, when you get Misdirect, any hunter who pulls aggro (except by some bizarre fluke accident) needs to spend a bit of time setting up a Misdirect macro, learning about focus targeting, and getting both that macro and Feign Death keybound to something easily within reach. One of the unique things about hunters in the endgame is how much control they have over aggro, so while other DPS classes can make valid excuses, hunters cannot.

How does next Tuesday sound? Here is the new crew:

Mondays are (usually) better for me, since raids are much more frequently scheduled on Tuesdays. Of course, yesterday we had a followup, and next Monday there is a possible followup scheduled for the Sunday raid that both Grenn and I are scheduled for. So yeah, I'm not sure.

Can't do Tuesdays, as that is my Raid night with KMD, and I can't do Thursdays becuase that is my pen and paper DnD night, and some Fridays I have date nights with my wife. Otherwise, I am open most other nights;)

I will try to get Thunder up to 24 over the next week, so in case he would be more useful. Also as a replacement, i have a 19 mage I can work on leveling:) Altitis is a curse....

I feel bad we missed you Rainsmercy... I wish you would have sent me a tell I have my chat windows filtered so that I do not miss tells...even if I come back from a 20 min afk. Oh well, we always have next week right?

I am fairly flexible, so whatever night works best. Weeknights are just better for me, but I can try and make things work

Also, on the note of the hunter. If you guys both wanted hunters or were having fun with them....go for it. Aggro depends on the player...when you pug people who have no concept of the game or what to do, it messes everything up. That hunter last night kept pulling before u even ran in fully and was trying to pull and trap and then breaking her own trap and then trying to juggle the mob...over and over and over again. It was hardly a aggro issue, nor your fault. It was similar to one of the rogues we had last night. I chose not to heal people like that but that is cause i am an asshole!

I think we ought to keep trying for Mondays, then. It's least likely to conflict with raids (yesterday and possibly next Monday notwithstanding) and it's nice to start the week with some pleasant, low stress fun.

I completely agree. I was merely suggesting that if we all still wanted to try to get together next week it would need to be a different day. I'm going to shoot for Wed of next week to get my toon to level 25ish via LFD. If anyone wants to join me, great. Otherwise I'll see everyone Monday May 3rd.
