Thank you. Wow. That was incredibly trippy and a very cool song.

I've never much cared for Rammstein as they are very European (didn't hate, just didn't connect). This video continues in that tradition, but I think if you like heavier music with melody, this song is right up your alley. NSFW at moments (suggestively, not explicitly), though nothing as graphic as their previous video (which was, basically, a porn vid).

Band: Slough Feg (formally known as The Lord Weird Slough Feg)

Genre: NWOB Heavy Metal, somewhat similar to Iron Maiden, with a nerdier feel (albums based on comics and TT RPGs). I'm a big Maiden fan, and feel these guys are somewhat better, which is saying something. I hear some 70s era wah-wah in their solos, a nice bit of change from most metal. Celtic influences too.

Album: They have quite a few, but I find Atavism particularly awesome.

Here's a youtube link to one of my favorite songs of theirs. And another, half-acoustic.

Not sure how much this community is into metal, but as there is so much of it that's garbage, I try to separate the wheat from the chaff when possible.

I can not wait for this album.

8-Bit version of Doctor Horrible's Sing Along Blog... You can watch it and download the full album of Act 1 for free (I think I'm going to have to donate some money for this one). My mind has been blown for today. Doctor Octoroc is now my favorite person. I also posted this in the Random Thing You Love But Doesn't Deserve It's Own Thread thread... I've gotta help spread the word on this one.

So I picked up her album after seeing that video, and am completely surprised to discover that it is a concept album about a cyborg. Why was I not immediately informed of the existence of this?

Unfortunately, someone didn't want that Carbon Leaf video on youtube, anymore.
And VDOWhoNeedsDD posted that Mumford and Sons song 1 page ago.

Metropolis - Suite 1 - The Chase: This is awesome! Why was I not informed as well? Here's the cover from the album:

This song blew my mind when I first heard it (this might have been because I was really hungover... I'm not sure :))

Glad to see the Janelle Monae love in here. I think she's a fresh approach to R&B. Of course, being affiliated with OutKast, you wouldn't really expect anything different, but still - she's great!

According to Wikipedia: "Monáe revealed the title and concept behind her upcoming album, The Arch Android".

Dude, I'm typically not a huge fan of R&B, but when I get home tonight I plan on buying her first album as a show of support to a woman who has the creativity to pull something like that off. Kudos to her!

Talking of new R&B, Erykah Badu's latest album New Amerykah, pt. 2: Return of the Ankh came out recently. It's more like her older music; lighter and more personal than part 1's darker, political stuff. I'm really enjoying it so far but haven't spent all that much time with it.

Here's the single, Window Seat on YouTube, and here's the video that you may have heard about.

The new song Dance Floor is rad for all of you Apples in Stereo fans out there. Also, the video (see link) is pretty funny and has Elijah Wood in it.

Oh yeah, and THANK YOU. I hadn't watched the real one until I saw this. The ending almost made me cry. It was great and completely unexpected. When I've got time I'll definitely check out this one.

2nd single from the upcoming Devo album.

Great song/video. Bonus props for the pop-culture reference in the closing lyric lines (last 30 seconds).

Song: Falling Day
Artist: Kaki King

I don't care what the critics think about Kaki King moving away from instrumental stuff, I will always be a fan.

I know, in the U.S. Drum'n'Bass and all it's numerous children and grandchildren or even electronic music in general are still the bastards of the music world, but if you're into stuff like this at all, you should check out Stan SB. 16 year old british kid who makes the most amazing tunes. I can only hope one of the hundreds of rad european labels will pick him up, so he'll have a busy career.
