I draw a lot of full page weird b&w surreal things. Older ones rarely planned and I just doodled away until the page was full. Now I roll images around in my head for a while to get the main image I want and once its done I doodle in the rest. Lately been doing stuff with more of a scifi bend to it.
'Gettysburg Mechasaurus ' - For whatever reason wanted to draw Abe Lincoln as an astronaut on the moon and somewhere along the way he ended up on a mechanical dinosaur that comes complete with a turret gun.
'Pyramid Robots Attack My City' - I always seem to draw lots of pyramids. This time threw some tank tracks on the pyramid and gave them some laser eyes.
Those are some nice pics. You sir have one creative brain.
Just a little bookmark made for Pawz's lovely wife. It's made with swarovski crystals, crackled glass and plain glass beads.
Here's the Platform Bed I made (with a silly nightstand / end table that used no glue or fasteners and can be pulled apart and reassembled from the 4 pieces that it's made of):
When I first saw that pic I was like "Oh. Haha he made his bed." Then read the text and was like "Oh. Haha he MADE his bed."
And here's a repeat picture, but it's beer.
I'll have to crack open my latest brew and take a good picture of it. If nothing else it's a good excuse to drink the beer afterwards.
What is that wire coming out of the porter for. It makes the whole setup look like some sort of bomb.
It looks like a handle to carry the carboy with. Them things is heavy.
I need to try some Warrior Pale Ale or Oatmeal Stout.

I'm talking about the copper wire looking thing that's coiling in from out of frame

If you look closely, the wire is just draped over the porter carboy. That's the temperature probe for a thermostat power switch. I used a chest freezer as a fermentation chamber and the thermostat kept the temp at 65º by power cycling the freezer.
In light of the beer interest, here's something else I made, for dispensing the final product:
It's painted in chalkboard paint too, for any notes or labeling. But I ended up making poetry magnet style labels by cutting out strips from a sheet of magnetic mat and printing labels from a label maker.
That's really adorable Paws. Little cutie.
My son is really into trains at the moment. What better time for a train cake?
(Making him was much more fun)
A little fun with the kids this afternoon:
Rollercoasters for RCT3... PirateBob what are you using to make your game?
This is something I did for the gwj game:
gwj game? What? Where?
We're calling it GWJ game for now because it's basically a bunch of Goodjers that are teaming up to make a game. We don't actually have a name yet.
http://gwjgame.freeforums.org/
And since we're sharing stuff from there here's the original concept that Fang is working from (drawn by me! Yay!)
It went through several revisions and people weighing in with suggestions, and Fang is doing a great job transferring the drawing to 3D.
There's more of my (and other peoples) concept stuff in the art thread. Most of it is very rough, but there are a few really neat gems that we've come up with.

Wow, nice. Unfortunately I know myself too well and my total inability to follow through on committing to personal time projects. Plus, already got my own game going in XNA.
Just checked out http://gwjgame.freeforums.org/ and HOLY CRAP, when can i buy my copy?
Awesome Star Wars Game
You should post this in the Geek-out on Star Wars thread.
If you're in beta how long do you think it will be till release?
Hey Rob_Anybody, what medium do you do your drawing in? I notice your art is nice and clean - my pencil drawings usually end up a lot more fuzzy than they should.
That was done with Micron pens and Copic Sketch brush markers. I love Copic markers. The brush nib is really the greatest. They have replaced Prismacolors as my favorite markers evar. I just need to get more colors, but at $6-$7 a pop, that's probably not happening any time soon.
Before any ink went down though I did lots of light sketching with a mechanical pencil and a compass, just to get proportions and stuff right. If I know I'm going to be doing a lot of technical work I go with the mechanical, but most other times I prefer a regular old #2 and maybe a graphite stick. Afterwards I'll really crank up the curves in photoshop, so there are lots of little marks and dust and whatnot that get blown out after scanning.

Kidding.
We're working on it, but we're still pretty early in development. Like I said, we don't even have a name for the team yet, much less the actual game. And we're just doing this on the side between real jobs. Plus, I think there's only like 2 or 3 of us with "real video game development" experience. We're kinda figuring it out as we go along. But I'm sure the GWJ community will be the first to know anything.
well if you guys need any help let me know. I spent two years writing scripts for video production and do some writing on the side now...
man...we derailed this topic fast.
I generally finish drawings on paper in one sitting. If I have to stop and come back to it it's usually a lost cause. I have some digital tablet drawings save on my home computer that I save in stages, they are easier to put down and come back to. It's easier to grandfather digital stuff, less so dead tree format. I do have several versions of that doll where we were trying different variations and details. Those are pretty neat to look at and see the progression.
(they're in thumbnails, click to see bigger.)
If you want to see the process look on youtube for some of the time lapse videos people put on there. I think Penny arcade posted a couple and the guy who draws AxeCop has at least one from another comic he did. I get a lot of inspiration from those.
Just have to say that I'm impressed and excited for the GWJ game designer/makers right now. I'm lurking yer forum.
Wigglynder does not wiggle. I am entertained.
