Civilization V Catch-All

So Civ V + WoW: Cataclysm...

Better call the divorce lawyer now.

I hope it gets delayed, and delayed, and delayed. Yeah. 15 years should be enough - I'll be okay with quitting my career by then.

H E X E S ! !

I like what I see

Will they have sorted out the excruciating 20 minute turns while you wait for the computer to play in the end-game...

How can I help you?

Hey, I need to pay for my copy of Civ V somehow!

Quick moves, quick battles, do not show enemy or friend moves. It took me a long time to give in, but I finally realized that those settings are the only way to play Civ4.

Wow, this came out of nowhere, at least for me. I'm pleased to see it, though.

The tag team of Crespin and Peronthious have made my day worthwhile. This is such exciting news.

Civ is great to play holding a baby. You only need one hand. I played a lot of Civ 2 that way.

Oh wow.. I did not see this coming.

I'm still playing Civ 4! I wonder how this game will top that one, because Civ 4:BTS is almost a perfect Civ game.

Ok, so there is a new must have game for 2010.

Hexes!!!!

I'm...confused. Those squares have too many sides.... AAAAHHHH!

Sounds awesome, but I can't see the screenshots. Will it have hexes?

It's fun to watch for a round or two, but then it just takes forever. I really liked in Civ4 that there were move and attack as a stack options. Made moving large (mmm 40 tanks...) armies to attack much simpler.

Civ IV is probably my second favorite game of all time (next to Deus Ex). I'm really really looking forward to this.

I don't want Civ V. I want Civ Rev for PC.

I was under the impression future Civ games were all going to be Facebook/intarwebz based...and so this news made me more pleased than it could have.

I am in the same boat. I didn't think there was going to be another traditional Civ game coming out.

You do divorces for $49.99? I have some estate planning I've been meaning to get done...

How much for a frivolous lawsuit? I'm spilling hot coffee on my hand riiiiiiiiight n

I did not get into Civ 4. Loved Revolution. But ultimately, looking forward to this one.

But I agree with Tannhauser. Alpha Centauri 2, please!

This is definitely going on the list.

I'm very *bad* at games like this, but the Civilization games have always had a good spread of AI difficulty levels.

Also... hexes!

Same for Civ IV for me, and I had twins. They loved that opening theme.

I am approaching this one with cautious optimism. Want to learn more about what's being changed. I don't want my heart broken if they can't surpass the wonderfulness that remains Civ 4.

Damnit, I just decided that I wouldn't bother upgrading my ancient computer for a few more years because there weren't going to be any games I couldn't get on a console. Oh well there goes that resolution.

Man I would love a Apha Centauri 2.

Fixed!

Go sit in the corner. You're in time-out.

I'll echo that cautious optimism, but I don't know that Civ 5 needs to better than Civ 4 to consider it a success. Civ 4 was absolutely excellent, and if they can match that.. great. But to say they need to duplicate what is perhaps my favourite game of all time is asking a lot I think.

Worse case scenario, I'll still play Civ 4, which has aged phenomenally well.
