Star Trek Online Catch-All

How did you get your Borg? I thought that was preorder - I didnt get a Borg ;(. So much for the head start - servers been down for several hours now.

Make a temp character and log into game. Go to the *c-store and open up special unlocks or something. I didn't actually see anything in the store but I logged out and logged in and saw liberated borgs in the races list. Delete temp character and create borg haracter.

Seems like an overly complicated way to do things but it worked for me.

*upper right corner of game next to the mini map hit the down arrow and it is a selectable option*

Liberated Borg are for lifetime subscribers. However, they're having problems with enabling them for accounts who bought the lifetime sub sometime after Jan 29th or so.

If you pre-ordered through Amazon for the borg bridge officer, that won't be available until Feb 2nd.

*does the rain dance for the servers to go up*

Man both STO and GA are down when I have hours of uninterrupted free game time!

I did do the lifetime thing - this game is still pretty buggy as well. Fun, but definitely has some kinks.

Awful quiet in this thread; being away and unable to play makes me want to know, hows the head start going?

Today is not as smooth as yesterday. So far today there was major downtime (4 hours I think) midday and the servers just went down again. Yesterday was smooth.

The liberated borg main character is for lifetime subscribers. There's also a borg bridge officer as part of some retail packages. It will be available after the head start.

I am currently staring at the login screen while it tries desperately to load my character. Servers claim to be up, but I think they've only painted eyes on the back of their eyelids.

Here you go, Tamren, subscription plans:

This morning I got some error that crashed me - up too that point all was smooth...

What's the "best" way to purchase this that doesn't involve a physical disc? I was in the beta, so I already have the beta client - in my fantasy world, however I purchase this won't require me to re-download the whole 10 Gb all over again.

Is anyone else seeing just a blank sheet when they go to the google docs roster list?

EDIT: I reverted it. Looks like after whoever added Krylle to the list, somebody deleted everything. The fact that this happened is sort of troubling.

Good thing reverting is an option.

Tip of the day: If you don't like armor and kit graphics on your characters, you can hide them by right-clicking on the icon and selecting "hide from costume".

Yes, just get a retail key - you might have a small update. STEAM, D2D, Impluse, etc... gues it depends on which pre-order item you want.

On other note I decided and got the life account - the PvP tipped the me over the fence - love it...

sorry to be thick here -- so if I pre-order on Steam, D2D, or Impulse, I'll get a pre-order key that I can enter into my beta client "somewhere" -- or on their web site? -- which will re-activate that client and let me log in?

Just want to be sure I understand the process before I drop the cash.

You enter the key at the STO website. After that the beta client should work.

Keys are tied to your account - login/password. Outside of that, how you get/use the client software is irrelevent.

Also, I'm in a Queue. 338 of 410 to login. Exciting....

I saw a command in the forums to change weapon colors. Haven't tried it yet so I do not know if it is legit. It seems to be a Champions Online command, list of them here.

From that website wrote:

PowerHue PowerHue : Sets the hue of the Power's FX. PowerID of 0 applies to all Powers, Hue of 0 reverts to default.

/powerhue 0 <180> *for aqua*

Default Color = 0
Orange = 30
Yellow = 60
Green = 120
Aqua = 180
Blue = 240
Violet = 270
Pink= 300
Red = 360

I'm currently waiting... 986 out of 1321. This makes me scared for launch day.

So they are going the login queue route?

So now we get to learn why having everything on one single server is an incredibly stupid way to go. Thanks Cryptic.

Yep. I was in queue at number 1400 something. I walked away for about 15 minutes and I was still in the 1300's. Think I'll just play something else for now.

Yea I've been 1364 in line for 15 minutes now, hasn't gone down one single number.

The Queue doesn't seem to update properly, you'll slowly go down 1 by 1, then POP, you're in.

I took my cat for a follow while waiting in queue, came back few minutes later to see that I was entering the game. Then got server not responding and now I'm trying to log back in.

I added Krylle. Nothing seemed unusual. even went into it later because it thought i may have misspelled it. Looked fine though and all i did was close the browser.

I know. I wasn't accusing you or anything.

Damn queue's. I guess that makes my STO or Mass Effect2 decision a little easier.
