Crazy weird dreams that you've dreamt!

You know what gave me really vivid weird dreams? Ambien.

Of course, with that stuff, the dreams may have been really happening while I was sleepwalking.

I had this dream last night,
and you were in it.

100
00:05:04,900 --> 00:05:06,100
- Really?
- Yeah.

101
00:05:06,300 --> 00:05:08,500
Oh, God, I gotta get out of this.

102
00:05:08,800 --> 00:05:11,300
You were you, but you weren't you.

103
00:05:12,100 --> 00:05:13,700
- No kidding?
- Yeah.

104
00:05:13,900 --> 00:05:16,900
Why is this happening?
Please make her stop.

105
00:05:17,100 --> 00:05:20,100
I think... I think we were in my

106
00:05:20,200 --> 00:05:22,900
...and you were standing there.
You were looking out the window.

107
00:05:23,100 --> 00:05:24,800
This is brutal.

108
00:05:25,000 --> 00:05:29,300
And then you turned around,
and you had these wooden teeth.

109
00:05:30,000 --> 00:05:31,900
How do you like that?

110
00:05:32,100 --> 00:05:33,700
Can I turn now? Is this over?

111
00:05:34,500 --> 00:05:37,900
No, I can't. I can't. I'm stuck.

112
00:05:38,700 --> 00:05:40,500
Jerry, are you listening to me?

113
00:05:40,700 --> 00:05:41,900
Yes. I heard you.

My personal favorite , conversation between Jerry and Elaine season 1 ( First episode after pilot)
Jerry was at a table and interested in one of Elaine's acquaintance in case someone doesn't recall =P

Sadly (?) I can't say I've ever had this problem, then again I look at life a tad skewed... I recall having a falling dream, and getting bored. I'm fairly sure that is not the way those things are supposed to go. Usually if I realize I am dreaming I just naturally begin to wake up after that because my dreams tend to be fairly dull.
edit: I take that back, I recall having one of those "butterfly" style dreams, where I dreamed that I was asleep and dreaming, that I was asleep and dreaming, it was starting to annoy me after the second time I "woke up" only to realize that I was really still asleep (The second time it happened fairly quickly as the world felt(?) wrong when I "awoke", after the second time I woke up for real when I started getting annoyed)

This morning I woke up laughing, must've been a first.

I dreamed of sleeping in at the workplace. We're sort of in crunch mode now, so I get where that comes from. I was trying to maneuver myself around stuff to get to a sofa, and managed to stick my butt on a cactus. It hurt, but I found it hilarious. The cactus comes from real life, as well - I inherited a cactus I used as a prop in a video shoot into my office.

I had a dream last night about Left 4 Dead as a western. It was set in a desert ghost town and you had to worry about outlaws as well as the shambling undead. There were some mechanical changes. Like the ability to swap out members of your team at certain checkpoints.

Oh, and did I mention one of the playable characters was a grizzly bear, in overalls, with a bear trap stuck to one of his feet.

It was an awesome dream.

Sorry, it's kind of long, and boring in the way that other people's dreams are boring save for the person they belong to. Vivid details, grungy atmospheres and jewel tones ; )

I just had a dream where I was in a rickety old house, with people who were my supposedly friends, people who didn't care enough for me in reality, but whom I associated with because it was better than being alone.

It got late, everyone went into darkly-lit, smoke-filled rooms shaped like parallel parking places. As I wandered to my room, I could hear and vaguely see the movements of their flesh and lurid urgency, seeking one another desperately in the almost-dark. Every one, every single room.

I slipped into a claw-footed bathtub filled to the brim with bedsheets, alone, the sound of their passion echoing from sharp acoustics of the old, tile walls. I miss you, terribly.

As I tossed and tangled myself in the bedding, I could hear an old friend, one I hadn’t seen in years, enter the room. I stop moving, hoping that buried as I was, he wouldn't see me and leave. Another part of me sadly hoping that he wouldn’t, so that I wouldn’t be the only one alone in this house. He undresses and climbs into the tub, not fooled by my attempts at hiding. He wraps himself in the sheets as well, to capture me and cease the movements I’ve begun again to avoid this confrontation. With hundreds of questions, we talk. He hopes to have what everyone else has in this house, but tell him that I belong to someone who isn’t here. I know what he needs more than what he wants, and we talk to fill the air so that neither one of us are alone.

When it gets light out enough to go outside, he leaves me to have cigarettes. The bedsheets are replaced by water, and while I soak I can see the butterflies that were flying above me all night, unseen in the dark, drop into the tub with the weight of the condensation they collect from the steam. As they swim around in the water, I think they’re dying when both wings, still attached to one another, separate from their bodies and float to the surface.

I carefully fish the wings and struggling bodies from the water, and watch intently as the butterflies ignore their old wings next to them in order to slowly patch the wounds where the wings were attached with their own hair and saliva. Once patched, they fall into a deep, catatonic sleep where they will regrow their wings.

I know they’re tired, but I can tell that, if they had the energy, they would thank me. I can feel gratitude emanate from them. I feel guilty for being the source of their pain, and even guiltier for accepting their gratitude because I would not want to wake them just so they know the truth. I leave them, carefully layed out on a windowsill to dry and heal in the sun.

I take the discarded wings and press them carefully, like flowers, between pages of my journal to save as gifts for you. They are radiant, and I know somehow that the butterflies approve. I say goodbye to my friend, and leave the house to go search for something.

cheers on the Real Genius quote! I was hoping someone would catch it.

A while back I had a dream in the middle of the storm. I actually wrote it down and sent it out in an email to my band's mailing list:

I looked out of my window into the back yard and there was a large black van backed up into the grass. The grass was wet with rain and the van tires were already sinking into the sod. I went outside to discover the van belonged to sorority girls doing all of our yardwork. They were using pushmowers with oddly spiraling blades. Before anything erotic could happen the sorority foreman appeared. It was Ray Romano.

Ray wanted to know how I liked the way my grass was growing in the front yard. This was a trick question because as you'll no doubt remember I asked Ray to discontinue using the fancy fertilizer on my front lawn over a YEAR AGO. Last month I noticed he had not stopped charging me for this. I told him the yard was fine but hadn't I asked him to stop using that fancy fertilizer? Ray insisted that this was the only way to get the grass to not look like sh*t. Luckily for him the grass looked amazing.

The crew was wrapping up and as I walked towards the front of the house I noticed Ray's truck. It was a white extended cab pickup. On the side of the driver-side doors I saw several bible verses printed. This is not uncommon in the south except they were verses I had never seen like Proverbs 45:35 "It is [said]" and another one I can't remember from the book of Japanese 13:10.

I had just noticed that Ray's shiny truck was also a convertable and he was about to explain how it ran on "pedal-power" when my alarm went off.

QFT

Last night I dreamed that my girlfriend was a secret agent or spy and she took me with her to pick a prisoner or a contact of some sort. When we got to the bar/restaurant where they were holding the person the Russian spies wouldn't give up the other guy because she had brought her boyfriend along. The prisoner/contact person was in another room and I could here him receiving steam messages and I tried to warn the Russians he was using steam to plot something. Then they took my girlfriend away and may have given her a beating. Then my girlfriend and I had an argument because she shouldn't have brought me along. Some of this may tie into my worries about her going to another city for vet school.

I dreamt that a few friends of mine went out killing people the other night, then kept calling me and telling me what they did, then asking if I wanted to do something.

I had kind of a cool dream the other night:

I was a personal friend of Hulk Hogan. He'd actually been born in 1909, meaning (of course), that he was a hundred years old. On his deathbed he revealed this truth to his circle of friends. Only his singular will and Hulk-ness had kept him looking so comparitively young throughout the years. When we arrived, he was in his deathbed, but beckoned all of us to gaze at the large monitor that he'd had installed above his bed. It showed a riveting display of his most legendary wrestling exploits. When it finished, we turned back to Hulk, but found that in the interim he'd injected himself with something to send him to his final reward. I guess he didn't want anyone else to bear the burden of having to kill Hulk Hogan. Then again, maybe only Hulk could kill the Hulk.

That's a pretty badass dream.

Last night I dreamed I was staying at my parent's house (their old house), except of course it was very different inside, with a huge master bathroom, 3 beds in one bedroom, other oddities. So somehow I discovered that if I was lying on my bed, holding a steak knife encrusted with some kind of dried sauce, and looked up and to the right really hard, I could wish for objects to appear. I found this out accidentally by summoning a chimpanzee, which ran out of the room. My siblings were astonished and tried to chase after it, but I wished it away again when they couldn't catch it.

Then I summoned a Teddy Ruxpin bear for my sister (why? My sister is in her 20s and married). For my brother I summoned some old Lego sets. Then I wished them away when he wasn't interested, but it took a couple of tries -- there was a small piece of the box's corner left, then a tiny little piece, and then it was gone.

Then I decided to just go ahead and create some cold hard cash after everyone left the room. Which I did! $5000 appeared, but it was in a wide array of bill denominations. $500 bills, $20 bills, and at the bottom were some kind of weird treasury bills which seemed like a hassle to deal with, so I tried to replace them.

That's when things started getting weird.

The bill types started fluctuating every time I looked back at them. Then different types of alarm clocks starting appearing and shifting all over my nightstand. A whole bunch of candles appeared at the foot of my bed. By then I'd had enough and I wished everything away. I put the steak knife in the dishwasher and vowed never to use the power again.

Then I find that my siblings had told my parents about my power and they made a list of things I should wish for. My mom started telling me that I had to support my older brother who was having a tough time and still living at home (IRL not the case). I tried to explain that the power didn't work and I couldn't do these things. The last thing I remember of the dream was getting in an argument with my dad about what I should create with my power.

wow. your steak knives are bad ass.

I was looking for some specific items in a strange hardware store that also sold cap-and-ball blackpowder revolvers. I had not found what I was looking for, so I went over to the revolvers to check them out when I got a call from my sister. She tells me that my parents had finally made the decision, the family was moving to Alaska. I argued with her, that I didn't want to move to Alaska, but she said the decision had been made. "I have a job, a house, and a wife, and I'm not moving to Alaska!" So I went to my parents' house where everyone was getting stuff ready for the move. I told them they were crazy and I would be staying here. My wife said to me that maybe it was a good idea to move to Alaska.

I remember distinctly thinking to myself "Oh God, I hope this is a dream!" But it felt so real.

So my family moves to Alaska, except for me and my younger brother and my oldest brother who lives in NJ and must have come down to help out or something. So the three of us (where's my wife? I don't know... maybe Alaska) are in the house trying to clean some stuff up or get stuff ready for the movers or something? I remember looking out at the driveway and seeing all the family's bikes out there and thinking they were stupid for leaving them outside. I tried to lock the doors and nearly every deadbolt had some problem with it, like the bolt wouldn't properly align with the hole in the door frame. On one door, the lock engaged a part of the screen door, which I thought was a {ableist slur} design.

So we're sitting around and my oldest brother shows me these sets of model paints and how they have their normal color (off-white) but if you hold the packing at the right angle to the light, an alternative color becomes visible (intercontinental missile white). So he decides to drink some of the intercontinental missile white, says it tastes HORRIBLE, and then begins to throw up. Which makes me want to throw up too, but I managed not to.

In the end, I was relieved when I woke and realized that my family did not move to Alaska.

Your subconscious mind is telling you that change (specifically of the sort that you do not like) isn't always bad and your current situation may, in fact, end up being less secure than you previously thought it was..... and that you'd end up staying with people who make you (feel) sick and who do stupid things.

New job possibility recently?

A recent dream:

I was walking around downstairs in my grandparents house when this ghost/spirit thing attacked me by lifting me up in the air by holding my upper arms just above my elbows, flinging me through the house and putting me in my bed when i didn't want to go to bed in the middle of the day. I remember feeling pretty scared and was fighting with it as it held me fast to the bed.

It's possible that this is some sort of repressed/confused memory from when i was a baby and was at my grandparents' house for the day.

Another dream i had long ago was where we were in the "family house" (it wasn't one i recognised) but we were having lots of arguments for some reason. In the end i got so frustrated that i put my hands to my head and pushed against my skull.... resulting in me caving my skull in on one side (i think it was my left). I was really worried about that, as you might be, but hid it from the family because i didn't want them to see and i was doing the classic "movie thing" of putting my hand up to my head and turning away so they only saw my right side. I think it ended before there was any resolution.

I think that it pretty much represents a lot of personal stress and trying to hide that stress from other people.... or something. It was also during a period of my life where i was using air-quotes a lot. I'm trying to cut back now....

Quintin, your subconscious is telling you that it's OK to drink paint. Go for it!

it idon't taste vfwery good

You probably tried the wrong colour.

I've broken a few teeth while eating stuff like shrimp or Cheerios. They kind of crumble. I sometimes get dreams where my teeth start to crumble away, first one, then others, and I can't figure out why and then I realize I need to get them replaced and I'm sad all my teeth broke off.

I also used to have *very* vivid dreams that I re-enrolled in college to get another degree. Sometimes a few of my friends are there, but usually not. At first being back is very comforting, but then I realize how much has changed, and I miss my work and my family and my friends, and eventually I leave without finishing the extra courses. But the sense memories of what it was like to be in school are terribly poignant.

It's really weird, but this is one of the most common dreams ever. It's up there with dreaming about falling or sex.

So I'm in a plane (a small one like this) with my Dad flying when something happens and we end up crashing, right onto a deserted island. The weird thing about the island was that it was kind of a mix between a small 10 foot wide island you always see when cartoon characters are stranded on an island and a large "Lost" style island. It's kind of hard to combine those two, but I distinctly remember both aspects of it.

I don't remember how long we were on this island, but we eventually got the plane flying again. So we take off and start to head back home (I'm flying this time, not my Dad). However, I learn an interesting secret on the way home: Apparently my father intentionally crashed the plane before. So what do I do? Obviously I get back at him crashing the plane to teach him a lesson. The funny thing was that some how I managed to crash it on the exact same island.

So now we're stuck on this island with no hope of repairing the plane. As I'm looking out into the ocean, I see something floating out in the distance. Logic would then dictate that I needed to swim out to it and check it out. So I do. After swimming all the way out, I find out that the object is in fact a house floating in the water. Upon entering the house I see that the rest of my family is there. Yay! We're reunited, except we can't celebrate too long as looking out across the ocean we see a tsunami is approaching the house. But no fear! The house is apparently rigid up with seats we can strap into so that we can survive the tsunami.

So we all strap in to the chairs, secure in the knowledge that we will survive the incoming tidal wave when my oldest brother decides he desperately needs to go to the bathroom. He unbuckles himself from the chair and swims to outside the house. (Why he did just go there in the house is beyond me, we are nearly submerged.) I'm convinced he is going to die when he miraculously returns before the tsunami hits. Then out of no where, a friend of mine from college is there and decides he too has to go to the bathroom. So he unbuckles and swims out to relieve himself. What happens to him you ask? I don't know. The dream ends there. With my friend swimming away from the safety of the tsunami proof floating house with the wave mere seconds from hitting.

I get those dreams from time to time. Not sure if the common explanations are as close as the fact that I have anxieties about dentists, grinding teeth and weak enamel that stretch back decades.

This isn't too crazy but those I always forget. What's particularly interesting to me about this dream was that I believed it happened even after I woke up.
In my dream I was playing Diablo 2 (of all the dreams, this 8 year old one stuck...) but in my dream I was aware that in the morning I had to go to school. So I had the great idea to save my Game/Sleeping state somewhere in the middle of the night so when I get up I can load myself back to sleep and in the dream. The clock rings, 5:30AM and my first thought is "But I saved, what why didn't it load?". I spent about 2 minutes with trying to figure out what went wrong with my saves and then I realized what I was actually doing and ashamed went to brush my teeth.

I've also dreamt about falling teeth, but that's mostly because I've been postponing my visit to the dentist for quite some time now. I wake up looking at the mirror, relieved that it was just a dream I hate them. It's good that I almost never remember dreams when I wake up or I forget all about them shortly after that.

It's like Koro syndrome for teeth. Great, something else to worry about.

Oh, goodie.
Tonight the Earth was bleeding some red goo that dissolved everything. And there was some sort of a war, I think.

Man I almost wish I had dreams like that. Mostly I dream of boring things, like driving around with my friends, or playing with my nephews. Sometimes I have the falling dream, but I am fairly sure I am the only person I know that gets bored in the falling dream. I wonder what it would be like to have those kinds of dream sosmetimes, but generally when I get to that sort of point I recognise the dream for what it is and wake out of it. The closest thing I've had is a dream that I was asleep and dreaming and woke up, only to later wake up again, now slightly annoyed because I remembered doing all the stuff I had to do to get on my way to class, only to wake up again kind of pissed off this time because I really did wake up and would have to do all that stuff yet again.

edit: LOL I actually posted that same basic post the first time around!

Some weird dreams last night involving a post-apocalyptic scenario, a ruined school, an insulin injection, a laser pen, my sister being mean to me, a ceiling-mounted laser turret, and my brother hitting me in the face with a pillow. Then Kristen Dunst under cover wearing a mustache and a security guard outfit, and me asking her about her work on Spider-man 3 while a bunch of us waited in line to see an IMAX movie.

I had that nightmare again where I'm supposed to do the mail run and take the cart to the 45th floor, but my boss won't let me use the elevators. So I'm in the stairwell trying to get up two flights but dropping mail everywhere and my boss is there yelling at me to hurry up and get the mail out. And my dad is up the stairs telling me how disappointed he is with me.
