League Of Legends Catch All

Which is kind of why I stopped playing the game. I was addicted for about a month, but a few games of people "lol"ing whenever someone died, and kids calling us a word that starts with n and rhymes with figs... Anyway, it left a bad taste in my mouth. The games have the feel of debating on the internet with idiots, and leave me feeling the same afterword. So, done with it.

But it was fun while it lasted. Too bad that many of the community are so ignorant and aggressive (great combination). My brother played DOTA for many years and says this community is better than DOTAs... yikes.

They should rename Gangplank to Mr. Assist.

Such a beastly tower, creep, and champion destroying combo.

First when choosing characters Mauser gave this big spiel about no afking, no quitting, and no feeding. I of course responded facetiously to his armchair generalship. Also at this point one of our players says something in Finnish or some other language like that and Mauser says, "oh great, a foreigner." Bet you can tell where this is going to go. So he chooses to go solo mid because he's the big shot and he's matched up against Heimerdinger. Now I don't know how he manages to do this because I was focusing on my lane but he dies two times in a row. He starts begging for someone to switch lanes with him because he apparently can't avoid running into turrets. Of course everyone ignores him because switching lanes this early in the game is ridiculous, and we weren't a very chatty team anyway. So Mr. No Quitting goes ahead and rage quits. Then he comes back and starts feeding them. Luckily their Teemo also quit so the game was pretty even despite the feeding. He calls for two unsuccessful surrender votes and finally quits again after feeding 24 kills to the enemy team. We make a come back after being one inhibitor down. We kill Baron and at that point Ashe and I can just dismantle any of them.

There really, really should be a vote kick option. Or a report option on the profile or in game, that sucks, awesome to see you guys came back from it though.

Also, it's pretty funny that he couldn't handle Heimer as Nasus.

i don't understand how that option has yet to come into existence yet.

Minimally if someone quits there character should de-spawn. Their goodies should be split, and some sort of compensating factor should be applied.

Strange that I don't have this same experience.
Perhaps once you get higher level and playing with people a bit more into it? I'm at level 20 now and don't think I've had to put up with real a-holes since about level 11.

I played for the first time yesterday and had a lot of fun with the basic mechanics. A friend and I just did a bunch of practice games together. After the second game we were having a really good time. The streamlined mechanics felt right and the champions were varied. Once I went home I gave the actual online mode a try and did pretty well in my first game. 5-4-1 (not the exacy assists). Finished with 3 tower kills and 2 inhibitor destructions. I understood why I died (either had a champion run up behind me and was too slow too notice or was overagressive). Was thrilled when I killed my first human opponent and had an "Got I'm! I got I'm. Great, kid. Don't get cocky." moment. Was proud that my lane was the one used to ultimately ended the game. When everything in my lane had fallen and the fight got hectic I backed off and concentrated on destroying an already weakened lane. I guess the other team didn't expect that as I was easily able to clear their tower and inhibitor as well as do most of the damage to the nexus (which was quickly becoming defenseless).

For those wondering, I played as Tristana. I tend to gravitate towards ranged DPS characters. Pretty good at running away but I like to cause damage. Her increased attack speed ability and final skill meshed well with my playstyle.

All in all I had a good time. Not sure how long it will hold my interest but it scratches a certain itch.

I have an erratic schedule so I can't say for sure when I'm on. Summoner and account name is ArchAngelVector.

level 23 and every day i play there's at least 1 game like this... It is definitely better than DOTA, but it is the internet so you'll find that.

While its been years since i played DOTA i remember there being a vote kick option... Like when the games loaded up if you didnt respond in like the first 15 sec or so you were voted out.

This was a function of the Warcraft 3 engine. Players who were lagging in Warcraft 3 had 45 seconds or so before other players could vote to kick them from the game. So this wasn't really a feature intended to boot bad players, it was intended to allow the game to continue even if people lagged out.

I much prefer the LoL solution where you can leave at any time, but also return at any time.

General Wilbury is two words.

Oops, sorry. I know, I'm a bad person, but I made that list at 1:00 AM so cut me a break
Updated.

I know its free, but i tend to only play this game at specific times and when they keep the server down during those times its frustrating. Especially when its supposed to be "quick" 5hrs isnt quick.

Who here has given Nidalee some serious playtime? I've only played her once, and thought she was interesting, but since then I've seen numerous people topping the score lists with her. How is she really meant to be played?

She's pretty amazing...If it wasnt that i tried Malphite by accident and enjoyed using him she'd be my next unlock for sure now i'm having to flip a coin.

Human shape in the early game can do some serious damage to opponents not paying attention. Cant count the number of kills i got from someone hugging a tower and chucking a spear at them out of tower range to finish them off. After level 6 and she's able to turn into a panther she's able to do serious work on pushing a lane and do some serious damage to champions. Her healing ability is pretty nice to and able to get you out of tough spots unless team ganked.

As much as I hate to whine about 'overpowered' things in games as most of the time it really isn't but when one guy can stop an entire team from pushing, kills the whole team after a game of damn near total domination and then pushes with his team into a full base and destroy it in one go while we all watch in terror. There is something wrong.
Maybe it's just because of the loss of our main tank, but still, the frustration in this game is impossible to show through this post.

TL;DR
Goddamn Teemo.

My first game of the day ended with one guy as Master Yi finishing something like 21-1-1. I managed to get the one kill on him. He and a Heimerdinger slaughtered us.

Teemo is so squishy... just looks like you guys didnt have much team work going on. Someone starts dominating like that the other team either takes it up the poop shoot or bands together to stop him and the rest of the team. Everyone on your team has a decent KDR but with a push like that sounds like you werent banded together to stop the team and got picked off in groups of 1s and 2s.

No what happened was we couldn't push into their base. Either mid or early game Teemo must've farmed like hell, if you look at his load out you see he has mainly attack speed and damage along with the Warmongers armor. If we would push in together, we would all start dieing right off the bat, nobody could get close to him to take him out because he was too fast and he was two-three shotting people. Eventually the only choice we had (because the other members of the other team were gaining lvls and at 5v4 they could push out soon) was to split and go with people pushing each lane, switching up every now and then. After a bit our Karthus got himself killed by Teemo. So Shaco, and I regrouped where we were ganked by Teemo, alone, and killed. I don't remember what happened to Sion. So since we all had over a minute long respawn, they could all push in and take out our fully loaded base in one go.

Which brings up another problem, the way the respawn timer works. It's based on how far in the game you are right now and I really, really dislike that. I think instead it should be based on your deaths, gradually increasing for every death you take.

I think the respawn timer is OK as it allows you to catch up late game if you can take out a key player on the other team. The timer is based around the persons level I thought.

I just bought the digital pack. I feel it is worth supporting these guys as the did a great job and I hope that this model continues.

I love playing Gangplank when its a free week of Heimerdinger

Me:

Just imagine he's saying Khan...ection.

I've been trying to play, but for some reason the launcher always crashes.
I hope to find a fix soon to try and join in the fun.
