ok so let it be known that Burnt, wired, Bonus, and demon are the best this game has to offer.

Jesus...the economy effects everything.

It doesn’t affect the difference between the two words “affect” and “effect,” Camni. Until you learn that difficult lesson life will always be more difficult for you.

Maybe he was saying that the economy causes everything to happen. You know, as in "the CEO effected great change within the corporation."

...yes...uh huh...and by economy I mean anything that could be considered effecting...like God.

Whatever. I suck at grammar. I just hate it when Camni is funny. Luckily this is usually not an issue.

Whatever nothing. It doesn't matter if you suck at grammar, and it doesn't matter if you want to give him the benefit of the doubt and suggest he meant to say it "effects change." The fact remains - it is supposed to be "affect." One _can_ use "effect" as a verb (effects change) but common usage does not make it right, just tolerated.

I would never have the gall to call him out on this myself, mind you, given the number of screw-ups I have made in posting already and in-game, but I'm happy to stand up for what is right.

Camni, you may be a hero to me in some ways, but Demonbox totally caught you on this one.

(Just desperately trying to grasp onto something with which I can criticize Camni. I realize that sentence may be awkward but I had to avoid ending with a preposition.)

Does this look enffected?

i am not going to care anout my grammar or typing accurancyuntilaI get an apology from deomc.

Damned Dryden. He's the one we have to blame for putting this petty rule into the English language (reading a book on grammar right now). Also, according to Grammar Girl (who has a great podcast on grammar) this rule is far from absolute as changing the sentence structure to avoid ending in a preposition can sometime make the sentence far more awkward.

Also, great game tonight-- even though we lost.

Did you guys see this? It's quite funny.

I have found that the funniest thing ever to do with the jockey is to grab a guy and see how long you can run away from a teammate with a baseball bat. Extra comedy points for running directly past baseball bat boy and having him miss you.

Oh I nearly spat out my porridge. It's almost as good as Left 4 Bed.

Wooohoo! All 5 experts complete! Finally did Parish and went through hell to do it. Thanks to the guys who stuck around and especially for Laars for dealing with it twice.

*shakes head sadly*

Silly, silly Tempest. You think I did this just to be NICE to you? Oh no, no no no no no no, I simply did it to obligate you to help ME finish the last couple campaigns I need to complete this achievement. Especially when you lead me by the nose, thinking I was going to play Expert Dark Carnival, only to allow that rapscallion Thirteen take my place when I had to partake of my bathroom facilities. Karma has already dealt with that usurper, do not allow it to extract it's revenge against you as well.

Not meaning to call anyone out, but GWJers ragequitting from a team versus game is totally lame. We wouldn't do it to other GWJers, so we shouldn't do it to random people on the internet. Playing on modded servers against teams of savants who will hand you your ass goes with the territory when going up against pubs, it's something you should either deal with or not venture into the team vs space in the first place. I was left in a pretty awkward position in the last game of being the only person who didn't jump ship from a losing game trying to explain to the other team that no, as a group we aren't usually jerks toward other teams.

Dammit, I need to play more L4D2 expert, I haven't even done one yet!

Ditto.

Glad you're not calling people out by name but also glad you're calling them out. That's lame.

2 minutes and 30 seconds I will never get back.

So I snagged this on the Amazon sale. I am perplexed as to why there was a disc included.

But, as I figured it is more Left 4 Dead, turned up to 11.

Is there a dedicated GWJer night?

Well, I know which four would absolutely never ragequit, no matter how brutal the beating.

We only play on the days that end in 'y'

On every one of those days

I used to enjoy the hunter, but it seems like i cant get on top of anything in some of these levels....

[i]I dig both of these.

That's very true, I think they designed the levels this way.

Yeah there are a lot of missing climb points, and some of the climb points are placed so that you have to run around to the opposite side of the building. Lots of oddly-placed invisible walls too. Getting a 25 point pounce is pretty difficult these days, which seems a little unbalanced considering that the charger can dish out more than 25 points of damage just by running in and meleeing.

Yeah they should all have a decent chance to get a 25 pointer. it is kind of nice not ALWAYS being a hunter, seems like l4d 1, i would get a hunter 37 times in a row...

The most I've earned as hunter, so far, is a 24 pointer.

demonbox wrote:

Yeah, I might have done 23, but that was only so many times.

I did a 25 in one of the scavenger levels. The one from Hard Rain with the playground. It should be easy to get from the sugar mill too since you can jump from the top.
