Stan's Lounge Private Server Thread

I get constant wait messages, I tried for five minutes before starting the registration process.

Underneath all the text, on the right side there's a bit huge Download Now button. That's what you're trying? It starts downloading right away still, just tried. I think http://forums.tf2maps.net/downloads.... is a direct link maybe.

It still is not working for me anonymously:

Slow Down! You are trying to download files too quickly. You must wait 2 seconds before you may download another file.

That number changes, and it's usually around 15 seconds, but I am not allowed to download anonymously.

edit: I finally got my account active, and it worked.

second edit: and both servers are deserted.

Odd.

I understand your frustration, but I'm not sure berating the guy that provides a free private server for us to play on is the answer. He's still working the kinks out.

I believe Jakeleg did put it on the server. I'll check with him to make sure. No idea why you had to register to download. I did not have to register. I will say that the map has been listed for almost a week with a link to download it.

So what is actually on the server now? All of these?

Yes. The ones with the url and name are the ones that were not on Jakelegs server. There are eight of them.

Okay, both my computer and fpsbanana are back up and running, so I grabbed all the maps that are linked to in this thread. Can someone either post or PM me a place to download the older ones? I hadn't backed up my steam folder and they are unfortunately absent right now.

If you go to http://stansloungetf2.com There is a webpage with links for some of the older ones.

The all-talk mod is in. Works basically like this:

To better explain how this plugin actually works, lets use an example based upon the _events.cfg file supplied with the plugin and the plugin's default settings.
Dustbowl map loads
More than eight players join the server, alltalk is turned OFF
teamplay_round_start fires and alltalk is turned ON (attack/defend map)
teamplay_setup_finished fires and alltalk is turned OFF (attack/defend map)
teamplay_round_win fires and alltalk is turned ON
teamplay_round_start fires and alltalk is turned ON (attack/defend map)
teamplay_setup_finished fires and alltalk is turned OFF (attack/defend map)
Players leave server and there are now less than eight players alltalk is turned ON
teamplay_round_win fires and alltalk is left ON
teamplay_round_start fires and alltalk is left ON (attack/defend map)
teamplay_setup_finished fires and alltalk is left ON (attack/defend map)
More than eight players join the server, alltalk is turned OFF
teamplay_round_win fires and alltalk is turned ON
2Fort map loads
More than eight players join the server, alltalk is turned OFF
teamplay_round_start fires and alltalk is turned OFF (NOT an attack/defend map)
If you have the teamplay_setup_finished event in the config file, it will take this setting on a non-attack/defend map since there is no setup period (only in TF2)
teamplay_suddendeath_begin fires and alltalk is turned ON
teamplay_round_win fires and alltalk is left ON
teamplay_round_start fires and alltalk is turned OFF (NOT an attack/defend map)
Players leave server and there are now less than eight players alltalk is turned ON
etc.

Most things can be adjusted but it seems to be the same as the one on the pubbie.

I'm going to turn off all talk during setup. I don't care for it and I don't think others do either. The config for alltalk is also off. It turns alltalk off when more than 4 people join. Im going to up that to 8.

I agree. A lot of important planing goes on during setup.

I would love to be able to get into this server. I've been outta the loop, apparently.

I sent you an invite to the TF2 Steam group; check the comments to decipher the password. Welcome back.

So when did cp_desperados get added? Are there any others on the server that aren't listed?

Desperados was on jakeleg's server before it went down. I assume all his settings were just ported over to homer's server, we just never play it. Or usually when we do it's like hydro where everyone rtvs right away. I can't think of any others on there that aren't on the top list but there are some that are on the list that I don't think are on like quarry.

I've been a little busy, but I might have a little time soon to play again. Can someone PM me the password? Or is there some better system now?

I would like to get in on this server as well, but I am unsure of how to do so. Also, I wouldn't mind being in the GWJ TF2 Steam Group Clan Cult, but I don't know how to go about doing that. If I need to murder someone in order to prove my loyalty, I am more than ready. Please help, as I am very, very stupid.

Me too. Except the stupid part. I kill my enemies swiftly, and leave no trace behind me. But I would like to get into the newfangled TF2 group and so on and so forth. Just re-picked up this game tonight after constantly passing it over for one reason or another-- I'm hooked. Again.

Mecha, Wipeout, consider yourselves invited.

Also, once in the group, check the comments to puzzle out the password to the private server. If you still need help, PM someone in the group.

I won't beg for the invite, as I'm still in coffee grinder status - although that's no indication of how long I've been a GWJ member

Okay, I'll beg a little and say I've pimped the GWJ with the standard clan addition to my steam name for quite a while now. But that's as much begging as I can do.

Okay, please let me in.

Would love an invite to the TF2 GWJ group http://steamcommunity.com/id/carrotpanic Thanks!

If you are asking for an invite you might also post in the TF2 thread. This thread is more for server issues and such.

Thank ye for tip.

Speaking of server issues... Is the Alltalk mod really necessary on the private server? It was REALLY screwing with achievement farming yesterday.

It doesn't have to go COMPLETELY, but if you can tweak it so that it's not so... Dictatorial about shutting it off all the time, that would be appreciated. Or, perhaps, give admins the ability to change the alltalk cvar manually, without the voting nonsense.

Can anyone call for an all talk vote or is it just admins?

Well, I think it's just admins, but the command is sm_votealltalk if you want to give it a try.

Problem is, you can vote alltalk on, but the plugin for end of round/low server pop alltalk forces alltalk off after you turn it on the second someone new joins the server, and there is a 30-second time limit between allowed votes, so vote spams can't happen. So, everyone votes alltalk on, which takes about 30 seconds by itself to finish the vote, it's turned on, someone joins the server, and you're locked out from turning it on again for another 50 seconds, because of the time you have to wait to start a vote + the time it takes to vote. I was tossing up alltalk votes as often as humanly possible last night. It just wasn't enough. And admins are blocked from the sm_cvar command which I could've used to force alltalk on without a vote, and even after the plugin would repeatedly shut it off.
