Left 4 Dead 2 Catch All

Maybe the "knocked off bridge" detection's a bit spotty.

I support what you say, but I have several problems with your animated picture.

First, the rear end of your rude, crude, and socially unacceptable smiley actually looks like a pair of breasts being shaken like they are in a wet T-shirt contest. Also, the person shaking them has jaundice.

Second, why are the hands coming from inside the pants, pulling them down? It looks like the jaundice-breasts are playing peek-a-boo.

Dude I got it from the interwebz. Should I show you other strange and wonderful things I can find from there? Follow me just make sure you turn off safe search.

I had a weird thing happen last night on the bridge finale of The Parish. It was during the vs. game with Prozac, Yonder, Psych, AP Erebus and others. I was the last standing Survivor during the tank attack. I got hit near the edge of the bridge and somehow it registered as an incap. The end of round screen came up, but then a funny thing happened. I was able to stand back up. Heck, I was able to get to one of my incapped teammates and get them up before the round ended.

Anyone else every have that happen? I think it was something weird about how the tank smashed me into the girders on the bridge. I think I kind of "popped" up. Either way, it was weird and slightly disappointing since the round ended when I was clearly up and functioning.

Come to think of it, that round was also weird for another reason. Playing as Infected, I somehow managed to smoke someone right at the same instant they were charged. My tongue was stretched clear across the screen. It was actually pretty danged funny to see my tongue zip across the screen as the Charger carried my prey.

I'd almost forgotten about that. I was dead or dying in some stupid place, suddenly I heard you yelling in anguish, so I look and there you were, picking someone up as the end of round score flashed on screen. Congratulations, you beat the internet.

BTW - my apologies to Lars, Podunk and (reluctantly) Camnipotent last night. After my utter debacle of play I just cut and ran in shame once we returned to lobby. I was quite annoyed with myself and hope I didn't seem like an even bigger jerk than usual when I dropped as soon as the game ended.

It's cool, man. It's not like the rest of us were playing so fantastically either. :)

Speak for yourself! I was playing great, but you bastards were just dragging me down. Especially the Jerk! (It's nice being able to say that and not have to clarify who I'm talking about)

But seriously, don't worry about it Toast, I know how frustrating it is when you're not playing well and the team is getting rolled. (I lied about knowing about the not playing well part, but still) I was going to send you an encouraging message just after the match, but you were already gone. Then, I realized that was for the best, as I don't really want to be nice to you.

Would it be terrible of me to admit that your continued Charger failures amuse me to no end? Yeah, it would, but I'm going to fess up anyhow.

That last failcharge off the bridge was pretty damn funny.

You lost because TEAM AWESOME was split up. You should've vote kicked that toast guy he's a jerk.

TEAM AWESOME is like Captain Planet. Still, even when not combined, the powers are pretty impressive. Except for Heart. That's the lamest.

Had an awesome versus match with a bunch of GWJ'ers last night. Each round was extremely close. In the end, my team lost by 300 pts, which is pretty much the difference from the round where my connection failed and my team wiped.

It was the most cohesive team I've been a part of and one of the must fun to play with.

I always felt bad for that lame heart kid. Now I will just picture Toast.

I miss TEAM AWESOME. We had fun. Now I just bring down good players.

Um, I mean better players.

Nope, got it right the first time.

I'd also like to make it totally clear that if I turn down an invite it is NOT because I hate you and don't want to play with you. I know I've been blowing off demonbox and Psych quite a bit lately and I have nothing against either of them (except that demonbox used "you're" incorrectly recently and I won't be playing with him till he apologizes!). I've just got a lot going on lately and don't always have 2 hours to give my undivided attention to anything. I'm usually up for some Scavenger so let me know if that's what's on tap when you send the invite.

I'm the same way, I hope no one has felt like I don't want to play with them. I don't take it personally when people don't join from my invites, I hope others feel the same.

As long as you don’t take my continued invites as being obtuse to your attempt to snub me, I will not take your refusal as anything other than you not being up to play.

I didn't mean to turn this into a support group session, but thanks all the same.

(Unless.... this is an elaborate conspiracy to coax me into ongoing lame play simply to amuse yourselves..... sonsofFemale Doggoes!)

I was being a bit of a suck. Usually I try to laugh/joke off my poor playing but I really felt like I was the albatross on your collective necks and that gets even more frustrating, as you say. If I play like crap on my own, I just keep on going and/or restarting (hello Mirror's Edge). When it's team-based multiplayer sometimes the suckage causes a whirlpool around your teammates.

I am happy to know that my in-game inadequacies still bring you all such joy, and I can always do that. And don't worry - I know you will only be nice to me for points. Your rep' is solid.

Hey, when the game is telling you that you have failed, but you are instead helping a teammate to victory, your primal screams are always manly.

omg srly gaiz

I look one moment and its 0/8 for the GWJ server. I check back a min later, its 8/8

You guys telepathically linked or something?

FYI, GWJ games generally don't start until a lobby is full and ready to go.

Yeah, looking at the server list isn't very useful. People generally start a lobby and then launch a game into one of the servers when they have 8 people. Best thing to do is friend up a ton of people, then check your in-game friends list to see who's in a lobby and join them. If you're in the GWJ L4D group you should also see the occasional announcement when someone is starting a new game.

Man, we really need a FAQ or something.

muttonchop wrote:

If Certis felt like updating the first post (which shows up on each page) with questions people always ask, such as "How do I get into the GWJ servers?"

Spam out some friend invites to us, Moosicle. You'll get more invites than you probably want.

If it makes you feel any better, Toast, I suck with the Charger too. I seem to magically pass through people at times, really.

How about hanging out in the group chat room if you're looking for a game? I'll be there.

I was right beside you. Don, help. Don? Don?.... I think he disconnected. TEAM WIPE. But you are right, still a fun match.

Had more fun tonight on Parish. Close game, but our miraculous finish of the 4th map was the difference. Seriously, that map is LONG.

And to moosicle: Everyone in the GWJ L4D group is an admin. So people just post announcements that they are starting up vs. It pops up on everyone's Steam who is watching. If the person starting isn't in your friends list, add them. Or post an announcement right back saying "Hey [name], friend me" like I did tonight. (Then delete that after your friended so the group page isn't so cluttered)

It works fairly well so far. It's annoying that being in a group isn't enough to make people show up on your friends list in-game. But even as is it's been pretty easy to get full games going. Usually more than 8 show up and a 2nd game spawns, at least this week from what I've seen.

Ok that was longish. Hope to play more tomorrow. Later guys.

Sorry for disappearing tonight guys. My power supply exploded. I'm gonna be mia for awhile.

That totally sucks.

Nuean wrote:

That must have happened after I dropped because of graphic card issues. By the way; sorry to my team for having to drop because of my graphic card issues. I hope whomever took my spot at least managed to get a surviver with a charger.

I actually did well with the Charger today, for once. I almost felt bad for charging Jaunty off the building... almost.

Also, today being the first time playing with Goodjers... so much better than with pubs. It's a given, I know, but I still felt like it needed to be said.

I've been having bad luck with the charger as of late. It seems that whenever I try to hit a moving survivor they slip off the charger as if he had a cowcatcher stuck to his face. 99% of my successful grabs have been when the survivor was stationary or had no room to get pushed aside.

My biggest frustration with the charger is lining up a good long run, grabbing the survivor and then stopping after 5 feet. It is rare that I carry one a long way, despite my best efforts.

I did finally knock down 4 at once last night, however. That was satisfying.
