Venture Bros. Season 4 (and higher) Catch All

This thread inspired me to give this show a watch. I now own the first 2 seasons. Filthy enablers.

I just realized that Dr. Orpheus has only been in the season opener.

I believe they have promised us an Order of the Triad ep.

All I want for Christmas is to see who would have won in that fight between 21 and Hatred. Hopefully, 21 because I don't think I've laughed at Hatred since Hank said to him, "You're not going to bad touch me, are you?" back in season 2.

I enjoyed the boy adventure bar room brawl far more than I should have.

Got an unexpected laugh seeing Hatred's medicine is "NoMolestol" :).

I just caught the Prog Rock episode. Go Yes!

I liked the NoMolestol as well. My hearing is going, what was the last interaction between Hank/21 when he thanks 21 at the end?

Hank - Thanks Dude.
21 - Mumblemumblemumble...

Something like, "No problem. I owed that guy one."

That was it. Referencing the beginning of the episode where he told Sgt. Hatred that he "owed him one".

Gotta say, that was a hell of a guest cast.

Did my DVR mess up or was there no new episode last night?

No new episode. They reran the season premiere.

There are only two episodes left of this half season so think of it as Adult Swim trying to prolong your happiness.

I took it as a chance to re-enjoy "Self-Medication". And I have to say, in a guest cast of luminaries, Seth Green impressed the hell outta me by shining the brightest. Lance Hale and his google-fu killed.

No part of this week's episode was not pure awesome. But I'm a sucker for Hook references.

So they called the next episode the season finale in the preview, you think that means they're saying screw it to the half season labeling and just going for a short season 4 and season 5?

I thought the whole Orpheus's daughter subplot was weird and kinda just dropped on the audience. I also felt Dean's subplot was strange but the more I think about it the more I like it. What was so weird was that he was doing normal teenager stuff. No weird supervillans or crazy super-science, just a dude hanging out at the mall and trying to work up the courage to talk to girls. It was pretty damn cool of them, actually. One of the reasons VB is still going strong is they take the time to do stuff like that.

I do wonder how they're going to bring the comedy after they un-screwup all the characters. Dr. Orpheus tries to be a badass again, Dr. Venture isn't constantly insecure about himself, Dean isn't as awkward around girls, etc. Hopefully it won't last

I think everyone remains fundamentally broken enough to stay comedic. These victories are small, and a far cry from well-adjusted. And what the hell are you talking about, "tries to be a badass again"? Have you seen Dr. O's blue windbreaker?

I think there is still a great deal of life to live for these characters to 'fix' themselves. I did feel kind of bad for Dean when the Master was mocking him, but then I realized that to motivate Triana he had to lie and who knows maybe this distance/time apart will make the hearts grow fonder.

I am still trying to figure out if there was a glitch or a timeline screwup in this episode. In the beginning Dean is in a suit but then out in the lawn he is in his speed suit but back inside he is in his suit again and then suit again for Triana's departure.

There will be a part 2 to season four, JP has blogged about the scripts being worked on/completed.

I do think the Master was wrong, deliberately or not, about Dean's gene status--Dean's only been cloned "once". There was the original Dean, but all ensuing clones of Dean are actually first generation, there just happen to be a lot of them, cloned at the same time from the same original sample.

The Master has always been shown to engage in ridiculous exaggeration to make a point. I suspect his rendition of future Dean was about as accurate as his rendition of Catherine the Great.

I think the Master might be my favorite character. Between licking his genitals (and tasting it, in his mouth) and the Catherine the Great bit, I think those might the some of the funniest moments.

Oh, The Master is a great character...on every level. His writing and voice acting are simply superb. And so far, he's always given good advice, which is presumably why Orpheous keeps coming back to him. But he's also a Jerkass of epic proportions, and he wraps that advice in layers of sarcasm and hyperbole, ranging from merely inappropriate to outlandishly offensive...and he's certainly not one to let facts get in the way of a sound message.

Triana, being possibly the most level-headed of all the characters in the Venture universe, seemed to come away with the right message. Hopefully we'll see her again at some point.

Well, they showed her catching him coming out of her closet in a previous season, and he wiped her memory. Up until this point, I'd assumed that magic was a learned skill in the Venture-verse. This makes it look like an innate ability.

That was F-ing awesome.

Woohoo!

Spoiler:

Brock's back!

Yes. Yes it was.

Like Christmas, my first BMX bike, and meeting the cast of Firefly all rolled into one.

Uh... He has tourrettes!

I'm still trying to get past the fact that 21 can kick ass. I guess it's funny in its way, but it doesn't really work for me.
