Left 4 Dead 2 Catch All

In Dead Center is the finale score from how many cans you get in the tank? In Coop we threw them all down onto the floor then filled up at the end, but that could mean that we get wiped with 0 gas in the tank on versus.

Yes, you get points for each tank you empty. It seems to be maybe a bit less than 100 points per tank. We were up 850 or so to 650 or so and the other team got 4 tanks (I think) and won with around 950.

I miss snare speak, for real being a jockey is not as good as I imagined with out snare speak.

Scavenge is a lot of fun. I deliberately didn't track down any information on the new play modes, and even with 2 people on the team that had never tried Scavenge, it still went well.

Its so very not a relaxed game of VS though, if anything its even more tense, and potentially frustrating. The epic struggle to get that last can of gas in, with the score 8 to 8, that was intense.

We failed, but still won on time.

Yeah, already said it but probably better to play and attempt to fix technical issues later. Playing that with only 3 people was frustrating.

Never even heard that... and L4D2 locked up my computer a few minutes later. My first time playing should probably have been a solo game so I could get any problems sorted out. The demo worked fine though.

They should all be named Francis, appended with a concept art creation date.

I knew it. I seriously believed in it.

And I'll be calling the man with the red beard every time, unless Rubb Ed suddenly decides to play L4D, in which case he can have priority.

I am loving the versus in this game. Kept a decent lead over the enemy team in Dark Carnival until the finale where they incapped us halfway through. We tried to give them hell, but they stayed at the top of the railings in the stadium which made it hard to drag them away to do serious damage, and they always had a good sight range on any incoming attacks. Luckily, one guy was incapped right in front of the helicopter because I was blocking him as the spitter.

We won just barely - 2467 to 2462. It was exhilarating; a hard fought battle on both sides that I was sure we had lost.

Sorry about the Dark Carnival VS game yesterday, Steam decided I wasn't connected to steam, kicked me to desktop. Then Steam wouldn't restart even after I rebooted my machine. I gave up and started web browsing and the steam login popped up randomly and automatically logged me in. I haven't seen this issue before or since.

That Dead Center VS we played last night was awesome. I love the new scoring system which might have something to do with our team being behind almost the entire game and we came back to win it in the finale because we filled more gas in the car (neither team finished the finale). I think each team made it to a safe room once.

EDIT: also my charger rush on the balcony was epic and wiped the opposing team on that first map, they got retribution on the very next map though.

Just got through swamp fever on coop last night. Once again we had to kick it down to Normal to beat the finale, though I think that's just because we were running out of time, if it was earlier in the day I think we would have gotten through it on Advanced eventually.

I really didn't care for the Dark Carnival finale that much, but I liked Swamp Fever a lot, almost as much as Dead Center. I am looking forward to both of those on versus quite a bit.

Hard Rain is my favorite campaign so far, but the finale isn't so special. Parish has the best finale I think, but the middle isn't as good.

I've played Dark Carnival the most since a lot of the games I've jumped in was that and I think I'm already bored of it in Co-op. It has some funny things and I really do like the clown zombies, maybe I just hate the finale.

So, since you all were relentless in sending me Invites when I did not have/could not play L4D or L4D2, through some finagling I managed to get a copy for myself today. Once I can figure out why my ping is somewhere in the mesosphere, i'll hop on for some Co-Op play that ostensibly will not involve Lobster repeatedly setting me on fire.

Lobster will always find a way. Hell, he might be on another server, but he'll still set you on fire!

Hmm, Rock Paper Shotgun has pointed out that the Still Something To Prove achievement progress bar refers to beating all six(!) campaigns on Expert. Either it's just a mistake or there's something cool brewing.

Well now, it would seem all my achievements and stats disappeared.

It's a good thing I don't know what "ostensibly" means, because you, sir, are getting lit on fire.

Hit me up if you're ever feeling a bit chilly.

At least it's friendly fire. <3

Scavenge is the new sh*t.
Versus may still be fun, but scavenge has that awesome contained arena format of a CS game where strategy and being able to react properly makes a huge difference.

I keep reading Lobster's post with Ellis' voice and can't stop laughing.

Smitty the Drinker!

*facepalm* And I can hear Ellis' voice saying just that. The 'Heh, heh' doesn't sound right, but the rest does.

I wondered about that, I'll remove it.

"There was this one time, when me and Keith were fighting zombies, this big fat one came up and threw up all over him and all the sudden there was zombies everywhere, running right at him. I had this Mollie, you know? Like a bottle with gasoline and stuff in it? And I lit it and threw it right at his feet. Those zombies burned real good, but Keith burned pretty good too! He had third-degree burns over 80 percent of his body, his doctor invited all these other doctors to look at him because they ain't never seen burns on top of burns on top of burns before. Keith got pretty angry at me but I told him it was friendly fire. It probably saved his life that fire did."

Ellis has some great stories. There was one about how a friend of his got attacked by some gators even though they weren't trying to "agonize" them or anything; they were just trying to get them to fight each other.

Mine as well.

At first it was funny, then it was just sad. But then it got funny again.

Ooo someone on the Steam forums found a special Jimmy Gibbs Jr. zombie hidden away in the game files.

There is also apparently in-game dialog from the characters referring to him.

something isn't right because the stats say I've played 17 Versus maps. I've played two.

OMGHAX - myrwynd is stealing everyone's achievements!!!

Guess Jimmy shaved his head before turning. Or that's a member of his pit crew.

What I want to know is how:

Spoiler:

A car, even a fancy racing-type car, can require 13 tanks of fuel whereas a boat only needs 4.

We told you Lobster, they are +5 Tanks of holding. See how they are green? They're enchanted.
