Facebook game confessions

Between games of Dragon Age Origins and Torchlight, I tend my farm on Facebook's Farmville.

Confession's good for the soul, plus I need reassurance that I'm not the only one. Let's hear your facebook confessions!

I play a lot of FarmVille, Cafe World and Bejeweled Blitz. FarmVille reminds me of Harvest Moon.

You're really just fishing for Farmville neighbors, aren't you?

My Cafe World diner is growing. I embarrassed to admit that I have changed my daily schedule around when my dishes will be ready.

I have an all time high score in Bejeweled Blitz of 359,950

LOL I play this, Farmville (half assed), Farm Town, Fish Wrangler, Ghost Hunter, Bejeweled Blitz (410750 high score baby!), My Zoo, barn Buddy, Mafia Wars fairly regularly, there are a good dozen othrs I play once every few days.

I don't arrange my schedule around Cafe World, but I do arrange my dishes around my schedule so that they are ready right when I get off from work.

Screenshot or it didn't happen. I actually have one of mine, but I don't have any image hosting on the web and am much too lazy to sign up for some.

I...

I play...

I play Sorority life.

I do not play any games on Facebook. I know, I'm probably the only one!

If I see another lonely black sheep or ugly duck on my news feed, I'm going to start de-friending people on a zero-tolerance basis.

You started the "Fans of NOT playing Farmville" group, did you?

I play a bunch of games, but make a point of not publishing updates to my wall.

If you hit "Hide" on an item in your news feed it has the option to hide everything from that app.

Not a founder, but a proud member.

You are not alone. Stay strong, brother!

My confession that is my damned family members have been, and continue to be, dangerously close to getting ignored. Sure, I can block apps on a case-by-case basis, but when my unemployed uncle is evidently trying to sample every damned application on the site, it starts getting old. Is there an option somewhere to completely block every application? I don't care about your farms, what TV star you look like, what personality type you are, and I sure as hell don't want to join your damned Mafia Wars group. In fact, Mafia wars makes me want to introduce a sledgehammer to your kneecaps. I almost wish we could go back to how Facebook used to be: school address only, no apps, not open to the seething LOLZ masses.

/grumpy rant

Farmville is a powerful game, filled with bold themes of cultivating the wilderness and making your own way in the world; it's all about independence through teamwork.

But I don't play it because it's drivel.

I'm about to enter this world, for an article, but my wife is HOOKED on Bejewelled blitz and Farmville, has been forever.

Try making "status updates" your default view. (Click "more" to expand the filter options on the left, then drag the "status updates" line to the top.)

This still lets some of that stuff leak through. I don't play much, and make a point of not publishing *anything*, but I swiftly squash every app that springs up.

Why do people play farmville when you can just play harvest moon =|.

I also refuse to play any games on Facebook, much to my daughter's chagrin. She's a Farkle addict.

Desktop Defense and that's it. There are so many good games already on places like Kongregate that I never got into the facebook stuff.

I play Desktop Defense (18,796) and Bejewelled Blitz (214,050 right now).

I have FarmVille, Mafia Wars, Wizards Academy, every other game where the entire gameplay revolves around getting other friends playing, blocked.

Vampire wars and the occaisional Bejeweled Blitz (275k)

I'm a big fan of MouseHunt, and I already have a load of you on Mafia Wars.

I played Pirates and Mafia Wars, until I realized how much time I was sinking into getting more cash to get better stuff to do more things just for more cash to get better stuff, ad infinitum.

I played Mafia Wars for a couple months and then just stopped caring.

I'm frankly shocked at how many people play Facebook games. Does nobody care that running these apps gives them full access to your account? Do you have any idea how much demographic information you're just giving away, which can be later used in any way and sold to anyone without your consent?

I only recently joined Facebook, due to having my arm twisted by my gf. Sadly I'm already hooked on Farmville. I also play Mafia Wars (badly) and Cafe World (with little interest). The one I'm really looking forward to (or not, since it will kill everything else) is Civilization.

A bunch of guys at work finally talked me into playing Mafia Wars. Its a nice distraction to keep open in a web browser in the background during the day, but I really don't see the appeal in it. It's not much of a game as there isn't any real challenge to it.

Out of curiosity, has any one spent money on one of these Facebook games?

I want to know if that $275 million that EA spent on Playfish was actually worth it.
