Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Catch-All

Can someone confirm whether kills obtained from killstreak rewards get added to a current killstreak? For example, if I have a 5 killstreak and get 5 more kills with the Sentry Gun without dying, am I know at 10?

That is the way is usually works. But, I noticed last night that it did not seem to be that way. I unpacked a sentry gun from some one's care package, set it up and got 10 kills with it immediately. My streak was not updated to reflect that, and I didn't get any kill-streak bonuses. My some adjustments to how the streak are calculated for balance? It would make sense.

After coming out of the gate hot, I've settled into a k:d of 1.17. This is depressingly close to my MW1 ratio of 1.14.

Here's hoping once I learn the maps I can jack it up to 1.3 or so.

You may not have gotten it because it was someone else's sentry gun. I'm not sure, haven't used one yet. I do know I lost a killstreak because I got killed while targeting a Predator missile. Woulda been 8 with the Missile, but alas.

I just got 7 kills without using rewards, called in the attack chopper that I unlocked, it took at least 3 people out and I got no confirmation of +10 killstreak or any reward. Is this because I haven't been able to unlock anything higher than 7? If so, that's pretty lame since most players will rarely repeat streaks that high.

Man it is so hard to aim in sight mode for people not used to the 360 controller. Also, how to we actual play with GWj people?

Be sure to up the sensitivity in the Option menu to better simulate a mouse.

Is there any way to check stats online?

Kills from kill-streaks rewards do count towards your kill-streak bonus. However, there is one exception. Any kill-streak reward you obtain from a care-package does not count towards your kill-streak. While it seems odd, I think they did this so someone an entire team couldn't pool all of their care-packages together for one guy to use to unlock the nuke.

It is on high which is good for movemnt and turning but aiming down the sight is really jumpy for me. I'm probably 3/30 when a guy gets somewhat close and i try to follow him with the sight, and hip firing is tough unless you are right on top of someone.

I actually play FPSs better on the 360 then I do PC so I think it's just a matter of practice and playing alot. You have to get used to using the analogs and before you know it you'll be doing well.

Good games last night! Most amazing kill for me goes to when I beaned a goodjer with a stun grenade and it killed him. Can't remember who it was though :/

I liked the "No Russian" campaign for the fact that its one more step towards getting cutscenes out of games for good. Beyond that it really didn't get a rise out of me.

As far as "earning it" that idea kind of smacks of B.S. We've seen essentially the same scene as "No Russian" in dozens (probably hundreds) of movies (with about as sane a plot). But now suddenly video games (no, this video game) are held to a higher artistic standard? C'mon already.

Uh, no, it's the exact same standard used for movies--was it effective, or cheap? The same question pops up when shocking things happen in movies all the time. C'mon already.

If you want to use that standard then it worked just like in a movie. It served the story and advanced the plot.

Except I already said earlier why I think it wasn't effective. You either earn your shocks, or use them cheaply, and I think No Russian was cheap.

Karma I am with you. This controller feels like I am 13 trying to unhook the training bra off my jr high girlfriend.

It was somewhat strange to notice that Rio slums teemed with people, but the VA suburbs were populated exclusively by Russian paratroopers.

Perhaps after all is said and done with "No Russian" level, getting some down-home soccer moms in the line of fire was a creative risk IQ WON'T take, huh.

Indeed, and after all the focus on not killing civilians during the training level, I don't recall a single moment where there were civilians and baddies at the same time.

I'm sure they handwaved around it in some meeting saying 'uh, yeah, all the civilians have been evacuated or something'. Of course if you were genuinely fighting freshly-landed paratroopers, half of the locals would be firing blindly out of their windows with their own weapons, and the other half would be jamming the roads in minivans trying to get away. Kind of limits how many grenades you can chuck around.

Boo! Your post dismissed my snide comment. Well anyhow, seeing how I haven't played the first, would it be worth picking up the second before hand?

Don't bother with CoD4. Just get the newest one. Unless you only play singleplayer, in which case don't get any CoD game.

If you only play single player, rent CoD4 then rent MW2.

It's definitely worth the rental fee!

(And, if you have your Xbox connected to XBL just try a few rounds of multi-player. You might enjoy it.)

How awesome is that?

So is Spec Ops just as good as the early reports say it is? Has anyone tried it split-screen, how does it compare to say RB6V2 Terrorist Hunt split screen?

There are civilians in the Brazilian level, if I recall correctly. And there are the hostages in the oil tanker.

Yea we were sending out mass invites from that list last night. Ended up with about 9 or 10 max.

It'd be nice if we can schedule a night and we can get a full 18.

Sucks that they still dont allow xp when in a private match, but i guess its to prevent farming.

Oh it was hilarious listening to our team Female Doggo when some goodjers was seperated and ended up on the other side. Tkyl and Stylze both were being Female Doggoed at with a constant onslaught of bad words

I just finished in 6 hours, 11 minutes on normal. It was a hell of a ride.

I woke up at 3:30 AM, thinking about the game, after playing about two and a half hours of single player last night. I played an hour, went back to bed, and woke up and played some more.

I remember someone from IW talking about this at some point, not sure if it during the COD4 development or not, but that they decided to go without civilians because it would get in the way of the flow of the game.

Thasswuamsayin. There are Russians in the airport to gun down, Brazilians in the hood waiting to become collateral damage. But no Americans in the burbs.

The biggest compliment I can give the game is I'm almost disappointed that I'm going to Toronto today because it means I won't get to play any multiplayer tonight.

I played 4-5 missions last night. They were all 1-4 minutes long but had a lot of re-playability to get better scores / times. The ones I played felt like snippets from the single player game but in co-op (Not similar to terrorist hunt). There were 4 other sections w/ 5 or so missions each that I didn't get to try that could play quite differently.

I did it all in split screen which ran smoothly. It is split horizontally and there are black bars but they seem to be smaller then they were in WaW or Halo. It is nice that they also use the black bar area to put the mini-map in so it doesn't obstruct your view.

I'm not sure if it will have the re-playability of T-hunt but I was definitely digging it last night.
