Idle F***in' Thumbs Podcast

Lame!
Wouldn't worry too much though. I'm sure Remo's not gonna hang up his podcasting shorts just yet, and I do feel like he's the force behind the magic.

I really wish that they weren't call it quits but I understand why they are, I am not worried though I think something good will come out of it again.

Hey GWJ podcasting went through a few iterations before settling on the conference call, Having never listened to Idle Thumbs just to annoy Mogg I'll look forward to their next show

My day was ruined after listening to the podcast this morning. Since finding Idle Thumbs I've prioritized it above all other podcasts. It's just so amusingly informative....

Blah.

The 3 guys are likable enough, but the podcast doesn't click. From them talking over one another constantly to it regularly devolving to overlong bits of nonsense back-and-forth that seems to be entertaining the 3 of them way more than me.

You must hate fun. You have my sympathies.

Apparently I do. As further proof, I'm not even that fond of Joss Whedon.

I started listening to Jonman's drunk-talk a couple of months ago after it was getting love from the GWJ and PAX crew. And I've learnt this:

I have no idea what everyone else likes about it.

Jonman and his Beer are likable enough, but their conversation doesn't click. From them talking over one another constantly to it regularly devolving to overlong bits of nonsense back-and-forth that seems to be entertaining the 2 of them way more than me.

That said, I was going to give it a few more beers to see if [insert weird British slang]. With this one down, it seems that my drunken gibberish queue is coming up a little short now. Maybe I'll finally getting around to listening to the vidiots who plays Gears of War every Friday night.

Skeletonframes wins the internet for today!

After this comment, I am ashamed to say that I agree with you on Idle Thumbs.

But I'll continue to half listen to the archived shows during my workday to see if something clicks.

Noooooooooooo!!!

Oh well. Another one bites the dust. Drunken Gamers, I now have room for you.

Same, sad times. :(

I am in the same boat. Space A**hole had me in tears on 494 heading toward Savage, MN. This was literally my 3rd podcast. Then they call it quits.

I have really loved Idle Thumbs. It takes a bit to grow on you, but if you listen to the first few you'll soon get into the swing of it.

It has definitely been one of my favourite podcasts. If Chris and Jake don't keep going now that Nick has had to leave, I hope they find another way of expressing their creativity online, they are funny, talented guys.

I've still not listened to the last episode. I feel like a squirrel. The last episode of this podcast is a delicious nut packed away for consumption at a later date.

Yeah, they're going out on number 50.

Unless they did a marathon recording session there should be 2 more episodes coming up. At least that's what Chris seemed to say in episode 48.
EDIT: Their blog-page is teasing an interview with Max Schaefer on this weeks episode.

Well then I'll pack away 3 episodes, because I just looked at my mp3 player about half an hour ago and I still don't want to listen to it

If you run over to Idlethumbs.net, they have "Space A**hole" the movie and mp3.

Music: Chris Remo
Video: Nick Breckon

I have not checked out their podcast, but this is the fourth time in a week I've heard about it. Might have to check it out. Like Shoal, my time in the military desensitized me to just about all forms of derogatory, lewd, lascivious, nasty, totally inappropriate forms of speech. Though if I were listening to a podcast and it was coming at me a million miles an hour, it might grow tiresome.

My real initial concern is quality. GWJ is really the first 'amateur' podcast I started listening to, and the quality has absolutely spoiled me. I ldo isten to a couple of others, Three Moves Ahead being the most regular, and the audio quality there is sometimes distracting. I don't mean to give Rob a boner, but he does great work, and your use of good equipment shows.

Why not?

It will be nice to savour those episodes.... like Trine.

Great interview with Max Shaefer this week.

I liked the part where Max said they didn't quite understand the "Stone of Jordan" economy, and then Chris subtly said, "Yeah, it was duped to hell and back."

I actually don't remember catching that when he said it. That's quite funny.

So.. I just listened to episode 48 today. The last few minutes of that had me in tears. The laughing started with the censor beeps, and it just went from there. Hilarious.

And Space Asshole is the best song ever.

That's been running through my head the last couple of days

Space AsshooooOOOooOole, he does nothing but annihilate and fight...

The final episode is live.

Aw, man.

I will really miss those guys. I hope Remo and Rodkin decide to get back in the saddle again some time soon.

Also, this is beautiful:

This may just bring me to the crying manly tears thread, and I have not been there in at least three years...

I started listening, but when Chris started describing what happens in the Noble Dwarf story I decided to turn it off and give it a listen after I finish the Noble Dwarf story. Oh well, next week I'll give it a listen.
