My company is still hiring in the Seattle area. We're looking for sales, software engineers (emphasis on XML, java, .NET and SQL), a UI designer and a Web and Interactive (Flash) developer. Health care industry experience preferred. PM me for more info.

If I didn't love my current job so much, I'd be sorely tempted, because I've got all of that, except for sales.

Location: Pflugerville, TX

Do you love it enough to not be interested in something here in Austin, either?

In an email, my boss wrote:

We are going to start actively recruiting for another person to join our team. I am still tweaking the role for this new person, but you can think that it will be someone that can bring a range of skills to the table. So as we are doing recruiting, expect to see folks that have backgrounds in a wide variety of related skills (HTML, CSS, XML, Python, C#, Java, graphic design, user experience, PHP, social media technologies, OpenSource CMS’s, etc…). Reach out into your networks to find good people, please!

At the moment, yes. I think I mainly liked the idea of not being a 1/4 mile from the sun, in Minase's case, plus I've got all of his qualifications in the health care industry.

Cool. Well if anyone else is interested in more info about the position I posted, drop me a line.

My company is looking for a sysadmin to work overnight shifts at our data center in Manhattan, as well as for all shifts for a data center in New Jersey that will be officially live at the end of this month. Shoot me a PM if you are interested in more details.

My friend is looking for two software sales people. Starting salary is $85k base with $100k in first year reachable incentives. Qualified candidates must have experience selling enterprise level software to private and public sector.

Small software company (< 50 employees) with a few positions, all req 1-3 years of experience:

  • Software Sales in Kansas City, Denver, or Dallas.
  • Business Analyst / QA hybrid thing in downtown Chicago.
  • C# / .NET Developer in downtown Chicago.

No relocations to any of the above - you need to be established already.

PC gamer preferred, as we have too many console fanboys here for my liking. =) Just kidding.

PM me for details.

Why am I not surprised that existed. Invite requested

We have multiple positions open at my present company located near Dallas, TX

Application Developers (C# or Java)
- Believe they are looking for 2 to 5 years of experience, but I'm sure they'll consider whoever.

Product Managers
Technical Writer
Support Engineer (Need development experience and knowledge of TCP/IP)

We've had a listing for a Development Manager for awhile and an Enterprise Application Architect. Not sure how serious either of those positions are. I applied for the Manager position but took over for a manager who was leaving. Not sure if they would have brought me on if not for that.

You can send me a private message and I am also on the GWJ Linkedin group.

Also, if you're going to graduate college in May 2010, you may want to give me a buzz. We have recruiting events every semester at several universities around Texas and New Mexico, but we'll recruit anywhere. Unfortunately, I believe we have hired all the entry-level developers we're going to need for January, but if you have no experience and have a CS, CIS, or MIS degree you can contact me anyway and we'll see what we can do.

Hate to be a Necrothreader but this is one of those threads that are actually useful to have around. I was wondering if the linkedin GWJ group linked above was still being used/active? I sent a join request a little while ago (I think I even managed to put my forum name on it)

I don't think I've seen much out of it lately.

Mentioned this earlier but we're still looking for both a SQL Server Developer (preferably one with experience in Analysis Services) and a .NET developer in north Atlanta. Company is Triton Loyalty; we do customer loyalty websites for media companies, primarily radio stations and are growing fast (we just doubled our office space) and are expanding into mobile and "gamification" spaces. Let me know if you (or someone you know) is interested; we're having trouble finding people.

Tagged.

Thanks for letting me in, if you ever have a need for a 3D artist down in Venezuela you know where to find me now.

This Front End Developer position says Santa Monica but if you prefer Austin, that's a viable option as well.

If you've got only "decent" JavaScript skills but can also back it up with some solid Python or .NET talent, we'd still be interested in talking to you.

That developer position is on my team but we're hiring all over the place so let me know if any of these opportunities strike your fancy.

Looking for software developers and engineers, and aerospace software scientists at my company, Carr Astronautics, in Greenbelt, MD (near Goddard). Aerospace experience isn't required, but it'd be nice. Java/C/C++. PM me

Tagging. Never hurts to keep your eyes open right?

My new employer, Bandcamp, has a couple of opportunities -- we're looking for a Ruby developer with strong JS/CSS skills, and a designer with user interaction and development experience. We run a virtual office, so you'd be working from home full-time, catching up on Skype once a day and on IRC the rest of the time. It's a small team, and everyone is totally awesome to work with.

That sort of thing makes me wish I hadn't stopped 'coding' with logo in primary school. Maybe, since I'm hitting the reset button on my life, I should start learning. Maybe a similar opportunity will appear down the line.

They do have a cool little series of puzzles to actually get the email address for the developer position.

Oh hey, I actually have something to contribute here!

Ninja Theory is running a (paid) internship programme for cinematics artists - basically getting mocap data in-game for DmC. From what I can tell from the press release, it's mostly Motionbuilder and some Maya work. We're based in Cambridge, UK; you get paid and get somewhere to live for the duration of the internship, possibly leading to a permanent position if you don't suck.

Details here.

I only started meddling with 3D when I was about 29-30.

Not a job opportunity, but could lead to it. If you're a developer who's used StackOverflow, then you probably know about their careers site. They used to charge for it, but have switched to a free, invite-only model. I got in because I've talked with Jeff Atwood and got him to help when I was building a computer, and I just got an email with 5 invites, in case anyone's interested.

Just send me a PM if you'd like one.

Bonus,

If they've got any decent Austin listings, I'll take an invite.

Thanks.

The company I work for:

"Cartera is aggressively hiring for a range of positions in both Boston and Atlanta including merchant sales, account management, engineering, technical operations, project management, product management, sales operations, etc. Also, feel free to link to the careers pages on cartera.com."

PM me if interested.

A friend of mine is looking for a coder in NYC. Shoot me an email (erik at this site) for details.

I've got an opening for a Jr QA Engineer, located in NW Austin. Description and contact info at http://www.smartesoft.com/company_ca... or just PM me.

Man, I would kill for this job and would love to live in Austin! But not up on any scripting languages and not yet (although going to take Linux+ test) a Unix/Linux guru. Not enough to put it on a resume at least. But I do have A+, Network+, Security+, MCSE and MCITP: Enterprise Administrator. Not that any of that has done me any good really.

Strekos can probably say for certain, but I would not be overly concerned about your lack of experience/expertise. This is a Junior level position, they're expecting to have to do a good amount of training.

As long as you're intelligent and reasonably technically strong, with good attention to detail, you should be good for a Jr. QA position.

Let's all relocate to Austin!
