I am up for it to but I really suck but I look forward to playing with you all :)

I'll spend the whole first day attempting to paint cars, so I'll be in with the first car I buy in the game.

I've heard that in Forza 2, people like us ran people like Lupus off the road.

Or turned around and came at us head on. But to be truthful we usually tried to run clean races. Tried.

There's a fine line between "hilarious chaos" and "actively trolling", which I think we walked quite well. Anyway, the pile-up would usually happen in the first turn when everyone forgot that if your cars are all about to make a turn, if they all try to brake at the same point in the turn, bad things happen.

Also, anytime anyone tried to overtake anyone on anything that wasn't a straightaway.

You know, I've found that not even the AI can figure that out. They're constantly spinning me off of the road as I've been learning to drive without stability control.

Hey now, I only did it when people were disrespecting of the racing line into a turn!

This. It was difficult at times when people got bunched up, there'd always end up seeming to be someone spinning out, but basically we kept it either reasonably polite or just outright ludicrous.

My problem was never people braking at the same time in turns, it was when everybody hit their brakes in a turn where you don't have to hit your brakes. There was one track where you could take the first turn at over a hundred miles an hour, but the racing line says slow down to like 70 and about three quarters of the players always did, and it always resulted in pileups in the first corner between the people who follow the racing line and the people who know it's wrong

So how do all of you Forza 2 owners feel about FM3? I tried the demo and I'm just not that inspired to go spend 60 bucks for a very similar racing experience. I tried the demo and there are some nice features (rewind, cockpits, etc.), but the core experience just feels the same to me.

FM2 owners, convince me I won't regret dropping the cash on FM3.

Well, it's a (sim.) racing game... so I don't know how much they can tweak it to make it seem like something different.

-edit-

That said, rent it if you not sure on whether to buy it or not.

Just depends on how much of a junkie you are. I've gotten enough playtime out of 2 to justify the purchase, and if 3 revives the online multiplayer, that's enough to get me to buy it along with the new tracks and cars.

1000 Gamerscore, what other reason do you need?

Rewind alone had me. I hate having to restart in Forza 2 when I make a stupid mistake several laps in on single player. I don't have the time to play usually, let alone time to restart because I was a dumb-ass for one turn.

Plus, I love racing in cockpit view. And I can't wait to get on the track with some GWJ groups.

This is not an acceptable reason considering Jekl as the source. '1000 Gamerscore' is the same excuse he uses for every game he purchases.

If the achievements are anything like FM2, that will never happen for me. I've got a crapload of hours in FM2 and I think I have 175G?!? This is another reason I'm hesitant to get 3--I've got a lot left to do in 2.

I think my aversion to online play and decal fiddling hinder my interest in FM3 also. Were I a more serious racer, I might be more inclined. I love racing (Dirt 2 is my current fixation), but not obsessively. I tend to race alone, with the AI on easy but all the assists off.

Odds are good I will get it, just not sure what the right price point is for me I guess. I think if I had a wheel I'd be more dedicated as well. But the cheap b@stard in me just can't justify the cost.

I bought the Wireless (but not really wireless) racing wheel.

I am not particularly impressed, think I'll be returning it tonight or tomorrow. It's fun enough, but I'm very wary of limited-use peripherals that cost 100 bones (rock band gear does nothing but collect dust for quite a while now). I had to try it, though, and this seemed like the only way.

If you search around you can get it for $85 or less. Does that change your mind?

If you didn't sit down with Forza 3 and find yourself blown away, no talking will get you to feel different.

For me, though, I can't even go back to Forza 2 after playing the Forza 3 demo. Forza 3 gives so much more feedback, and the cars feel so much more realistic as a result. I literally can't enjoy Forza 2 anymore because of how numb it feels in comparison.

Nah. This time of year, a device like this needs to blow me away to be worth more than one of the new releases I am missing out on to buy it. As this one didn't do so, it'd have to be priced below a new game to be considered.

I bought the wheel during my Forza 2 days. Returned it the day after I bought it, too. It just clicks with some people, and others, not so much. I'm thinking about trying it again at some point when it's not a Battle Royale for my gaming dollar.

Eurogamer review is up: 9

My excitement is definitely building with each review that I read. Some of those mountain tracks look like they will be really awesome to cruise.

I've been toying with the idea of getting the wheel, but have no idea when. Most of my motivation for wanting it is the fact that some cars seem incredibly hard to drive with the amount of movement I get with the pad. Mainly my issue is with rear axle drive vehicles that pack a lot of horsies under the hood; currently I'm struggling with a Camaro Z/28, A Class.

Wow, do I feel like a fanboy now. =P So many negative reviews. I'm glad you were able to get your money back Blind_evil. At least you were able to try it risk free. =)

Apparently, the Limited Edition is $80. I did not know that. Apparently, I pre-ordered it.

I've got the LE on preorder too. There's a good bit of cool packin stuff though, so I'm cool with that.

Yeah Same here, I barely played Forza 2 but I really enjoyed it and look forward to Forza 3

For those who have preordered you can send Turn 10 a photo of your receipt and get some nicely customized cars in return.

That R8 is sweet. It will be mine.

Aww yeah...

The disc 2 content has just finished installing, so it's time to stop gloating and start playing! I'll try to post some impressions later.

Awesome. Or as you say, "awesome blossom". That's Australian, right?

Post details.

Not that I know of -- we just say "awesome" like everyone else

First impressions are basically what you'd expect -- it's Forza, with slick new menus and a whole pile of tracks. I've made it to level 7 so far, and it's been a lot of fun, with a good selection of gifted cars to get through with. The difficulty bonuses are much higher than Forza 2 as well, so I already have a good 200k credits to splash around too. Amalfi Coast is perhaps the best track I've played so far, with lots of twisting corners through some quite nice scenery, and cobblestone streets that really mess with your traction.

Damn you, Outback Steakhouse! You've lied to me, again!

Killin' me, pneuman! Killin' me!

Are you able to upload video clips and pics from in game?

I wouldn't trust that Outback Steakhouse We don't use ranch dressing (that's "we" as a country; personally, my wife and I love ranch on buffalo wings), and we don't deep-fry onions either.

I haven't tried yet, but I'll give it a go tonight!
