Man, I thought I was all fancy and cool when I bought my widescreen monitor. I now see I am not, for I don't have TWO like so many people here.
Here are 6 pictures, encapsulating my entire bedroom and almost all my nerdy hobbies, ranging from complete collections of Farside and Calvin and Hobbes, to boxed copies of Sonic 2, Arcanum, and Phantasy Star IV.
Here's the monitor I bought after looking through this thread,
My book monitor stand is no longer large enough to fully support the monitor.
You guys are so impressionable.
And Vrikk... astronaut wallpaper?

Hey, the complete Calvin and Hobbes and complete Far Side up above make up for it.
Although the way they're perched, they could easily fall off and take someone out...those things are heavy.

The shelf they sit on is extremely durable.
And yeah, astronaut wallpaper. I picked it out myself. What?

Oh... nothing.
Granted, I picked it out years ago when I was in like... elementary school.
You guys are so impressionable.
I refuse to give in to this peer pressure. I stand firm in the use of my small, cheap, old desk with my single widescreen monitor sitting on top of 3 old motherboard boxes.
I like my monitor at eye level...
These are hanging on my wall just above my desk...
Oh why not. You large-monitor-having people disgust me... only because I'm not one of you.
I wish to raid your sweet stack o' thinkpads.
Nice work on the clean wiring Lou!

To be fair, it was hidden behind the pile of discarded VHS porn but he had to plug in a wall wart and didn't kick the tapes back over.
*grumble* And I was feeling good about hiding the lotion and kleenex. These people will get you every time.

See? See?!

On the floor under my desk, the wiring isn't much cleaner (no VHS porn boxes though, all mine is in digital form ). Notice that my pic only shows the top of the desk. It's all about the angles.
Lets go back to his STACK OF THINKPADS.
What kind of god among men has a STACK OF THINKPADS!

I'm guessing he was looking at those newegg prices and saw that if he bought 5 he got each one for $5 cheaper. You can't pass up a deal like that.

You have a red swingline! So do I. I carry it around in my backpack for the express purpose of whipping it out whenever someone mentions needing a stapler.

How often does that actually happen?
I use that stack of Thinkpads for work. When you're the IT Architect on 5 or 6 different projects at once, some international, you often don't have time to build/rebuild a new system for testing or prototyping. Suffice it to say I need that efficiency. I'd be putting in way more overtime than I already do without it.
EDIT: With that said - I do like my stack of Thinkpads.

Yeah, this thread is really striking into new forms of evil manipulation. I feel the pull to go invest in some new screens, and several of mine aren't even that old.
This makes me way glad I already have 20" screens, but at the rate we're going, I'll wind up with 22" wide screens >.>
Yeah, I was going to up grade my box this November for my birthday, but after this thread I'm buying a new monitor. It is bad enough that at LAN parties I throw everyone and their idiot brother shows up with 24 inch LCD, one guy came with a 28 inch.
My classic Viewsonic VX922 is just not cutting the mustard anymore.
Here's mine. Need not worry, nothing outstanding or enabling here. I roll with just 19" and not dual-wielding.
I'm thinking of upgrading my PC to an I5 setup in Dec or Jan, but that is only the CPU, Mainboard, RAM and maybe PSU changing. The rest will most likely stay the same.
I just got a 24" widescreen with my new comp. I must say I seriously underestimated the size of this thing. 24" in my mind was a lot smaller than 24" in reality. My wife now thinks I'm insane, but that doesn't seem to stop her from enjoying the monitor.
DF7: I really dig the stainless steel office desk. Looks very 50's IBM (aside from the computer stuff on top ;).
I see kleenex! The lotion must be in one of those drawers.
Also, a floppy drive with a floppy sticking out of it. How quaint.
Because of this thread I don't know if I want to match my current 22" Acer or upgrade to 2 24" with higher resolutions.
Either way because of this thread I will be poorer, but a little happier

Since I'm still in university it happens a lot. Its a great way to tell if people are potential friends. Laugh or I will ignore you!

I just got it a month or so ago at a used furniture store, and I'm loving it. The drawers are massive, the available space is massive, and the whole surface works as a mouse pad. It does weigh about 3.7 billion kilograms though. I will shelter under it in case of air raids.

What you didn't get the optional blast doors that turns it into a bomb shelter?

You have sort of the same set up I do with the laptop. Instead of buying a second monitor a while back, I decided that another computer would be better for chat/web/whatever while doing something on my main box because it wouldn't use any of my main's resources. That and it's mobile.
I've been thinking about running my other output to my TV, but that would take one LONG HDMI cable
