AION: Catch All

oops, double post

It works. I wish they'd do another server cap bump today too, because Im not looking forward to the first friday's queueueueueueue

Azapheal is 2-3 hour que after 6pm East but ive played l2 Ncsoft will not do much to enhance the servers because there isnt much they can do . It is a bit rough since azapheal crashes like clock work at 10:45 pm east i wonder if they expect this issue to self regulate in a month when 30-40 % of the players first months subs end.

What I'd really like to see is a reasonable way to curtail gold seller whispers. I'm getting roughly five an hour at times, it's obnoxious.

Maybe prevent players from sending whispers until they hit level 3? Even a quick block & report option would be better than trying to do a /block jhfdsjghsa every time.

Right click to block/report would do wonders. Once the threshold reaches, flag for investigation or lockdown baby!

Agreed. Despite all the polish in Aion theres a lot of little things like this that are still broken. (You cannot attack while you are STATUS!)

Very true. While Aion's core is rock soild, silky smooth and pastel pretty, it is missing a few QoL functions. Although they do have an awesome inventory auto-sort button. It's the little things sometimes.

On the other hand, Fallen Earth has lots of little helpful features, but the core engine could do with some work. And they are missing that inventory auto-sort.

Funny bug, my guy is totally bald, but when I put on the hat you get in the starting area, it shows the back of my head having a bunch of hair!

Haha.. there's a party in the back apparently

I overheard in general chat, and even read a bit more on the forums, that Mail was the way to go for Clerics - and to skip Cloth/MP in favour of Mail/HP. Can anyone verify this?

I think the general consensus was that if you wear cloth, you will be annihilated in PvP, but if you wear Mail and stack HP stones, you will be pretty much a "Battle Tank" and will be able to outlast quite a bit, without gimping your overall healing. I believe there are a few abilities where the Priest can convert HP to Mana (Warlock anyone?) as well as Mana pots seem to be very popular and cheap, so having all that extra MP over HP/Def isn't worth it.

Most of the clerics I know plan to have separate sets of armor for PvP and PvE once they get to max level.

Isn't PvP in the Abyss also tied heavily to the PvE? Or are we talking instances, swap out for cloth kinda deal? I'd hate to be caught with my pants down in PvE gear

Ton of the chain has gorgeous magic stats, tons of MP and tons of concentration; not sure why a cleric would ever want to wear cloth.

Weird.. at my level.. I see cloth items with 50-65MP and chain with 20-30, but with say, 3 or so concentration. But with a lot more defense. I'm guessing I need to level up a bit more..

I'd consider being anywhere in the Abyss that's not instanced as PvP. Just like in Warhammer, even when I was doing PvE stuff in the RvR lakes, I'd be wearing my PvP gear. It's not as effective, but like you say, better than being caught with your pants down.

Well I am back and hopefully will get some play time in this evening and weekend.

Hey Mord, did you take part in the siege last night ? I was doing ice claw so by the time we got out it was over and dident get a chance to defend.

I'm taking it slow. I'm only level 23. My girlfriend and I are only questing and stuff when we can play together.

These Asmods have gnarly toes. Sorta reminds me of Megan Fox's toe thumb.

Dredgion stirred up hell in our realm Saturday night; don't think I've ever seen so many people from both sides running for their lives before, made an awesome spectacle.

Care to turn that into a story? I can't imagine what happened.

I went with 24 elyos into Morheim late last night. We held out for two hours against twice our numbers.

Not too good with stories, so this will have to do ...

Lower Abyss on Lumiel was pretty much owned on Saturday by Elyos, and one legion in particular, Wolf Pack, they were missing but one fortress. At the moment the Asmodeans have similar numbers, but not as many 30+ people, but as soon as Sulfur fortress became vulnerable on Saturday night, every able bodied person 25+ on the server descended on it to either grab it for Elyos, or cause enough chaos to stop Elyos capping it before the one hour window ran out.

Somewhere along the lines, after a successful rout of one portion of the Elyos horde, the 'plan' on the Asmodean side went a little awry, and rather than just frustrate the Elyos, they swept down and tried to take the fortress guardian down. The result was predictable; there Asmodeans tried valiantly, but vainly, to kill the guardian, and given time they could have, but enough higher level people, their progress was slow. The masses ranks of the Elyos horde descended through the hole in the fortress' roof and slew every last Asmodean; giving themselves 8 minutes in which to dispatch the guardian and take control of not just the fortress, but the whole of the lower Abyss.

One by one, each and every Asmodean warrior fought to shake off the effects of resurrection sickness and head to the rally point outside Sulfur, for one last valiant attempt to prevent Elyos domination. The Asmodean General watched as the squadrons formed up, and leaping in air, screamed 'Cry havoc and let loose the dogs of war'. The air was thick with winged forms diving towards to fortress, when all at once, the sound of a bell was heard, and a message appeared for everyone to see ... "The Dredgion has appeared".

Across the void of the Abyss, the sinuous Dredgion blazed towards Sulfur, obliterating all in its path, whether combatants or no; it cares not for faction. Elyos, Asmodean and Balaur all were but meat to the Dredgion grinder as it cut a wide swathe leaving nothing alive in its tracks. Those fighting at the fortress looked up, stunned by the scale of the massive battleship; larger than the fortress, larger than the island on which the fortress stood, the colossus slowed and stopped directly above, and for a moment, the briefest of moments, all was still and quiet.

The quiet was shattered by an unworldly roar, every bump upon the Dredgion's skin glistened, shimmered and then let loose beams of light that cut down any warriors still foolish enough to be in the air; a scarlet wave of fire radiated out beneath the behemoth, setting everyone ablaze; and from its belly it began to drop elite Balaur warriors, not just one or two, but forces far greater than both the Elyos and Asmodeans combined. After mere moments, all was still and quiet again; every Daeva who had been in sight of the Dredgion had been killed, the fortress was no longer vulnerable, and job done, the battleship slipped back into the void; until once more balance need be restored.

So correct me if I am wrong, but one could take all of the tradeskills up to 399 if so desired, but only two can go 400+.

You are correct sir, as of release with patch 1.5, you can take two tradeskills to 450, not the one you were limited to previously.

That was great. Sounds like a fantastic way to get wiped. I can't hit 25 fast enough.

The shiney-newness is wearing off and I am beginning to see the game for what it really is, a beautiful clone of a game I have already played to death. its too bad really.

If someone avoided WoW for all these years (totally, completely, never touched it) and doesn't see the charm in that game's art style anymore, is AION a good choice? Will the game be around for very long or is it another Conan?

Other than a very short stint on Guild Wars (20 or so hours...) I've never been able to get into an MMO.
