Thanks again, Homer, for setting this up.

Two quick things, pl_hoodoo is now "official", so no one needs to download it (it came with the sniper update, I think). Also, there's a newer version of swift that is much improved, pl_swiftwater. Also also, how'd meridian sneak in there?

In general, does anyone know of a mod that alters rtv so that maps that have been played less frequently show up? It seems to me that every time there's a rtv, the same 10-12 maps come up, even though we're probably running over 30 on the server. I'd be interested in that, if there is. I feel like things like cashworks, arena harvest, etc. just never pop up.

Mex has a mod for nominating maps for RTV. I really like that, it keeps us from getting a plate full of arena to choose from.

Can we get the !radio going on the private? I have grown to like it very much.

I might grow to like it... if it worked for me. Which it doesn't. Also, what is the !vote "mapname" command supposed to do? I did it last night to try and move to glacier and a vote came up that succeeded but nothing happened.

I thought it should move to that map if it succeeds but apparently not. I'll check into the radio.

See my thought on the radio is... why not load another app in the background. Last I saw, the radio that jakeleg had was just a flash player in the steam browser window. The hooks into TF2 are nice and all, but the interface is really clunky.

Don't care because I'm listening to Maiden as I burn you down!

Hey all, the address for Stan's Lounge Pub Hacienda Hot Like Megan Fox 2009 edition is in my sig!

Maps are all stock + swiftwater. =)

Evilhomer, you might as well removed Quarry and CTF Mach4, those have been on Jakeleg's servers for months, and to my recollection haven't been played once. Even our less popular maps like Chaos and Arena Mach2 come up occasionally. There doesn't seem to be a lot of point in keeping those two maps in the rotation.

It also looks like that list is missing Jakeleg's most recent additions to the server. The maps I can remember (there are probably ones I'm forgetting) are Arena Freight and all the maps from the Big King pack. In addition to Swift's conversion into Swiftwater, Freight also was updated to Freight_Final and is much improved.

Thanks, Blob. I'll get the list updated.

I personally don't care about the !radio function just because it feels the need to tell everybody on the server when people are using it.

Frankly TF2 takes up enough real estate on the screen with the interface and I don't need more text.

I jumped on a random server yesterday and they had in-game map voting based on quality. Each player got to rank the current map on a scale of 1 to 5 with verbal descriptions to help them decide. This will help the admins decide what maps to keep and which to kick. I don't have a name but I think we should find it.

Because listening to big-band Jazz while playing TF2 is way too much fun.

This looks like it.

Poor circlejerk.

That's the one! It was a nearly empty server so somehow the admin of that server had it automated near the end of the map. Maybe during the last round or second to last round?

Having the radio on just means you're less likely to hear footsteps behind you. Naturally I am 100% in favor of the radio, which I don't use.

Nooooo, koth is way overplayed as it is. All the big map pack did was make it so that every rtv turned into 5 koths and 2 arenas...

Melee Football!

EDIT: and boo for taking off quarry, that map was fun

The Boodaloo Kid?

Norfair, I just recently installed this custom HUD, which I very much like. The only issue I have with it is I want to move the health from the right side to the left.

Found it through Ubercharged.net

I guess I need to post more? Though since I haven't had time to play lately either it all balances out...

You dicks want me to reinstall this and start stabbing backs, don't you?

Yeah, I think it's still too "new" for people to understand how it works and why it's actually interesting. As for music while playing, it's all part of an insidious plot by spies to infiltrate while you can't hear the uncloaking sound.

Nice work on the server EH3K. Since it's for whatever it is that's above "coffee grinder" status people, I guess I'll ask, what's it take to be that next level of GWJer?

Joooiiiinnnn Ussss!

KingGorilla wrote:

Well, you can try...

I don't know if you've ever played on stans but expect 2 weeks of adjustment as a spy.

If you already play on Jake's server then send me a message with your info and I can add you to the list. I'm going to change the server password once I work out a way to deal with the emails.

Spies rejoice. Radio is working now.

Awesome. Thanks Homer.

Something like 100 forum posts, I think. Try not to spam, but there are lots of threads you can throw in pithy one sentence posts on, as well as participating in the monstrous TF2 thread.
