If I am on, it will be around 6 or 7 pm central till about 10 pm central. Oh, and I will prolly need water works soon.

For someone that is not very familiar with the inner workings of D&D to begin with, am I going to totally be lost as I proceed into this game? I got used to some of the variables when playing Neverwinter Nights but I still don't understand certain things. Does the game help explain things fairly well or should I be reading up online first?

The game does not explain many things well. But, I have to say that if you got Neverwinter Nights, you will get this game fine. With the Free 2 Play thing, I would get the game, then try a fighter and if you have questions, feel free to ask me, or anyone else.

I really need to get going on my character... still a paltry lvl 1. I'm going to be grouping with pubbies if I don't catch up!

How did you take those screenshots Arovin? Are you running the triple monitor matrox thingie?

I am, I run at 3840x1024 on 3 monitors using triple head to go.

I joined up a few days ago, but haven't been able to play too much with some other things that were going on this week. Is there a beginning stage to the game (with the white dragon) that most of you are beyond? Should I rush through this section to catch up to the area that most everyone else is before I am able to join up with others here at GWJ?

Last night, thanks to Mothra et al, I had a great time. I got to see the grouping aspects of the game and had a blast.

I am having trouble balancing my playtime between this and Champions.

Give it a few weeks, champions gets old and tiresome super fast.

I got my roguish character to lvl 4. Looking to make her more of a damage dealer with some thieving skills.

I soloed waterworks - took me like 2.5 hours and 20 cure light potions. I want to run it again though to grab another end reward.

Is everyone still in the harbor area or have most moved on to the marketplace?

I am still in the market area. I was doing the kobol quest and have everything done, and was on the last optional person when I died. I am so going back there and kicking his face in

Just got to level 3 with my Dwarf Fighter named none other than Matokin. I will join the steam group now but I am normally on from 7-10pst on the weekdays. I am trying to play WoW as well so I will be going back and forth from the 2. I think some people last night in chat said it the best that playing a mage/sorc is hard in this game. Both from the soling aspect and from the getting used to it-I am used to games like WoW and NWN where you just need mana. If you see me online hit me up, I think I did all the starter dungeons soloing on elite, well all but that damned ice mt that took an hr to get through.

I still need to get a muckbane. Ran the dungeon twice, Saw Muck once, but no mace.

Ill prolly run it tonight a couple of times. Hopefully can get in some hard/elite runs

I used to hate oozes, but now they're just a minor nuisance. I funny to see them come out of the shadows and then watch everyone in your group whip out a stick and start wailing on them.

I am still in the harbor, need waterworks still. I have died on a couple quests so need to repeat them, which ticks me off as it is always at the last part of the dungeon after defeating everything else. Though tonight playing the actually pen and paper d&d so won't be on.

I run around like a girl with her hair on fire. I do manage to pull out my bow and shoot them to death, but it isn't pretty to see

I've heard it said that there are oozes that split when hit with slashing or piercing damage.

I am so glad you guys are having fun with this game... We've loved it for years as a casual MMO, and it always deserved a better audience.

yeah wes im loving it so far. we actually got muck to drop that crystal mace the first run through.. some happy pally got it

yeah ran ww twice now.. great exp and doesnt take to long with a good group.

Game was patched today, a couple of changes of note:

Irestone Inlet
-Players who turn Yaaryar's ship into a bomb, now really turn that ship into a bomb... really...

-Corrected an error where large parties were taking extra damage unintentionally from the scaling system.
-Scaling has been fine-tuned.

Now I have to go rerun Irestone

Nice. When we did it Tuesday night, the DM just told us Yaaryar was steamed we put bombs on his ship. It was sort of anti-climactic.

Well lets just say we're gonna have a lot more people wanting to do Irestone Inlet now.
...ship go boom boom...

If you start a new character, you will start on the "starter island" or Korthos. You can easily do all of the dungeons and quests there solo with the aid of henchmen, etc. Most of the people I have seen are in the level 1-12 range.

So what is this muckbane you speak of, and what dungeon does it drop in?

As a paladin, I haven't needed a henchman. Actually, done it twice as a paladin on different servers, and haven't needed a hireling. The 2nd paladin still has to do the 2 last dungeons, but those won't pose a problem either. This is all on normal, so if you are having trouble, you can always set it to solo.

Drops in the Den of the Kobold Brothers. It is useful as it kills oozes slimes and jellies quick and saves your other weapons from being eaten.

Congrats! It sells extremely well at the auction house (or it least it did back when I subscribed). Probably the easiest way to make money at the lower levels.

Thaothan Darksiege, Halfling Rogue

Just started the character today, not sure how long it'll be until I get anywhere where I can do things with people.

I find the cleric class, with it's healing ability, is great for soloing. He's a dwarven tank/cleric. I also have a human paladin with a great axe that rocks the house. I tried a ranger, and loved the bow attack, but they were to squishy when it came to close-combat and didn't solo to well. (At least not the way I played it.)

Neither of my current characters are on the Khyber server. I'll re-roll on Khyber. But my play time is extremely limited, so I probably wont get to play with you folks.

New to the GWJ community.. just been listening to the podcast for ages.

Played DDO at launch, but left for other pastures when the level cap was still 10. Now that it's free, I'm jumping back in with a new toon.

Look up Ciaran if ya could use a rogue.. currently level 3.
